- In this video I'll show you how my aquarium was built.
The size of the aquarium is 200*80*70cm with a water height of 65cm (Approximately 1.000 liter water).
Filtration
Beneath the aquarium there is a biofilter of 120*60*40cm with a wet/dry filter in the first compartment for extra oxygen. In the last compartment I use a Kinshi 8.000 l/h pump to get the water back into the aquarium.
Next to the biofilter I use an Eheim 2260 (2.400 l/h) for mechanical filtration.
Lighting
The only light I use is one 92cm (13W) Kitelight LED strip. It is controlled bij a special Kitelight LED controller that simulates sunrise and sunset.
Fish
- 10 * Synodontis sp. polli white
- 2 * Altolamprologus compressiceps "goldhead"
- 4 * Neolamprologus leleupi
- ~ 20 * Lamprologus similis
- Next month I will be buying some young Cyphotilapia gibberosa "mikula"
I like how you’ve shown the level of detail and patience to build the tank which is superb.. which also shows the level of patience and passion to keep these beautiful fish as it’s a pure waiting game for these fish to grow into adulthood.. very nice 👍
loved this
Nothing more splendid, from aquariums for Cichlids, I have not seen. You have golden hands! Suppose to create with their own hands is, you need a very strong love and respect Cichlids. Always admire people who have worked so professional approach to business. And all for the sake of our younger brothers - fish. Thank you very much for your movie. I got pleasure and joy, contemplating the process of creating such a miracle.
Very relaxing to watch the stages with no music it's brings a peaceful feeling to the video.
Netjes gedaan!
Thanks!
Best tank I’ve ever seen. Them rocks 💗
Good afternoon. Are all very cool happened! Nicely.
Absolutely amazing job. Totally professional from start to finish and definitely something to be proud of.
You are one handy sob! Amazing tanganyika display, glad to see you staying accurate to the species, very hard to stay true to a species with "so much room for activities" lol. I love how you ran a sump instead of running a fluval fx6 or two smaller output canister flters. Amazing work, truly a inspiration for my recent 150gal with a 40gal sump, only diference is im more about my frontosa's and tropheus. Again great work, probably the best tanganyika tank on youtube.
great job looks smashin
OUTSTANDING!!!
Just Wow
Good jobs! Looks real impression! I hope some times I'm do something like that :)
SUPER!!!! SUPER!!! SUPER!!!!
Bello
Wow !!!
💥💥💥👍🏻💯😎
Beastmode
wow!!!!
Very spectacular, congratulations! You did a great job, Akvadekor did a great job with his background, everything is perfect. What kind of stones did you used, natural or handmade?
+Adrian Radu Thanks! All stones in this aquarium are real. Only the background is handmade. I sent Akvadekor pictures of these rocks and asked them to make a background that will look exactly the same. They did a great job indeed.
I guess in English you would call these rocks "Grey wall rocks" or "Basalt wall rocks". They are quite common here in The Netherlands. You will find them in any local garden center.

Amazing aquarium! I would like to know more about how you made it. What kind of lighting do you use? And what is the colour temperature of this lighting?
Congratulations!
Hi Mario. Thanks!!
The only light is one LED strip of 92cm. It is controlled by a LED controller.
At 5.32 minutes you can see that it is positioned at the front of the tank. What you can't see is that is is pointing to the back. Approximately in a 45 degree angle.
Power output is 13W on 100% but It is set on max 80%. This is enough for these fishes from the deeper regions of the lake.
Color is 10.000K.
Awesome looking tank! Where are the shells for the similis though?
Thnx!
They were missing in the beginning. I added only a few. After adding more a bit later they all chose to stay under the rocks. Similis are not that dependent on shells as other shell dwellers like the multifasciatus.
Most of the similis are gone now anyway. They were to aggressive for my taste and they breed like bunnies.
WOW! Stunning setup from hardscape to cabinet materials. Was this acrylic or glass? I would love to build my own large tank at some point as well. Although probably cheaper to buy used and go from there. Come check out my 75 setup.. i built my stand (not finished yet) when i get settled into a more permanent place a 150 or bigger Tanganyika tank is my next project.
+Jeremy McTaggart Thanks! It is a glass tank. Panels are 12mm thick. Good luck with your project!
Yup, such a big tank will need a thick glass of at least 12mm. If it is too thin, the water pressure will smash the glass over a short period of time.
How many cost to heat 🔥 so many water ? :((
Thickness of glass?
12mm
Great tank - very professional; check my tank out Lake Tanganyika Tank 2014
habis biaya berapa kak?
