Filtration
Beneath the aquarium there is a biofilter of 120*60*40cm with a wet/dry filter in the first compartment for extra oxygen. In the last compartment I use a Kinshi 8.000 l/h pump to get the water back into the aquarium.
Next to the biofilter I use an Eheim 2260 (2.400 l/h) for mechanical filtration.
Lighting
One 92cm (13W) Kitelight LED strip (10.000K). Ccontrolled bij a Kitelight LED controller that simulates sunrise and sunset.
Fish
- 16 * Cyphotilapia gibberosa "mikula" (young fish, males will be selected and removed later on)
- 2 * Altolamprologus compressiceps Gold Head
- 4 * Neolamprologus leleupi
- 10 * Synodontis sp. Polli White Zambia (PWZ)
- ~ 20 * Lamprologus similis

A Canon Legria as I recall correctly. I don't know exactly which type anymore.

Dankjewel! Eerlijk is eerlijk, Malawi's zijn vaak feller gekleurd en veel mensen vallen daarvoor. Maar Tanganyika is ook leuk. Zoals je ziet hebben die ook genoeg kleur en qua vorm zit er meer afwisseling in dan bij Malawi. Verder heb je meer bijvissen om uit te kiezen zoals meervallen en alen. In jouw bak van 150cm kan je ook veel soorten uit het meer houden. Geen Frontosa's uiteraard maar er is genoeg keus. Succes met kiezen :-)
Hey Bjorn ik heb mijn eerste Aquarium besteld gisterenmiddag.Het is een aquarium van 150x52x55 geworden.
Sorry voor het late antwoord Willem maar gefeliciteerd met je eerste bak. En een mooie maat ook voor een eerste aquarium! Als je meer informatie wil over Tanganyika vissen dan moet je maar eens kijken op www.tanganyika.nl . Daar kan je veel informatie vinden over de soorten die je kan houden in jouw bak.
Dankjewel Bjorn,ik moet nog een paar weekjes wachten voordat mijn eerste aquarium wordt afgeleverd en wordt geinstallleerd.Ik heb al 70 kg zand en 75kg aan stenen in huis om de bak mee in te richten.

Dieses Aquarium wurde gefiltert mit einem Filterbecken von 120x60x40cm und eind Eheim 2260. In das Filterbecken benutze ich auch weisse Filterwatte.

Bedankt voor de reactie. Ik heb het filmpje met veel plezier bekeken. Fijn dat je de tijd hebt genomen om het bouwverslag volledig te documenteren.
Ik zie dat het aquarium met erg veel zorg en voorbereiding is opgebouwd. Het resultaat is echt prachtig.
Hoe gaat het ondertussen met de Frontosa's? Hoe groot zijn ze nu ongeveer? En wat geeft u ze te eten? Hebben ze speciale voeding nodig om ze zo mooi groot te krijgen?
Ik denk dat u ook over "schelpen" filtert als ik het goed zie. Klopt dit? En gebruikt u deze schelpen om de pH op peil te houden?
Allemaal vragen waarvan de antwoorden mij hopelijk ooit ook tot zo'n prachtig Frontosa-aquarium zullen leiden.

Hallo en excuses voor het late antwoord.
De gibberosa's doen het buitengewoon goed. Na een verhuizing ben ik begonnen met uitselecteren. 4 f1 mannen hebben het aquarium verlaten en zijn opgevolgd door 1 wildvang man. Deze vis is de alpha van de groep geworden en door zijn aanwezigheid is bij veel f1 vrouwen de laatste tijd hun legbuis te zien. De oudste f1 vrouw heeft zelfs al even met eitjes gezwommen. Maar voorlopig zullen ze nog moeten oefenen voordat ze succesvol zullen zijn.
Ik geef mijn gibberosa's met name diepvriesvoer te weten krill, mysis en mosselvlees. Af en toe krijgen ze droogvoer maar niet teveel want daarvan worden ze snel dik.
Er zitten inderdaad oesterschelpen in de bioloog. Deze zouden een relatief zachte schaal hebben waardoor ze langzaam oplossen en daarmee de hardheid verhogen. Eerlijk gezegd heb ik geen idee of het ook daadwerkelijk werkt. Ze hebben echter ook een goede biologische werking omdat bacteriën zich vestigen op de schelpen. Theoretisch hebben ze dus een dubbele functie.

They both breed but calvus (or compressiceps in my case) fry will not survive. Frontosa fry can survive but if you want to keep as many as possible it is best to bring them to a separate tank.

All rock's are real. Only the background is from Aquadecor.
Björn do you remember what background it was? C1...? I’m in the process of ordering my second one.
