She is such a mood. You can’t hate her. The comfort character for everyone
I believe everyone has a little bit of Tanya in them 😂

nah i hate her she goin after boys 50 years younger than her lol
I have an issue with how she plays this. She knows she’s far too old to be fooling around with this young boy, but she’s also flattered by it. So why does she humiliate him?

The range of characters she can do from MamaMia, playing Leonard’s mom in The Big Bang Theory and on The Good Wife is truly amazing.
Not to forget Maryann Thorpe in Cybill or Bunny Caldwell in Cruel Intentions. I just like her range of characters and expressions.

I saw her play Mrs Lovett in Sweeney!!!

The power of a real woman
Christine Baranski is such a great performer. She can be sophisticated, cold, warm, funny, terrifying, sexy, goofy.
Prior to starring in this movie, she was also in the 2000 movie _Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas_ as Martha May Whovier.
Terrifying?😭
@@Verafarmigaisalwaysmyfav yes, she can play icy cold and calculating extremely well

I suddenly feel old, I didn't realise this movie is 14 years old. It didn't feel like that long ago...
Honestly she needs her own spin off movie. I live for this song and this character.
I wanna see one on the three dad's just sitting around trying understand what is going on with the end revealing Sophie's biological daddy
She is ICONIC.

Every song from the Movie is good. Plus the second movie as well.
All 8 of ABBA's albums are amazing. Start at their last and go backwards in time. My favourite album of theirs is "The Album"
Hi I listen Di home hiiilay sending hiiilay
Agreed
I can't even watch Mamma Mia without getting incredibly sad after Mamma Mia 2, I just think about how Donna was full of hopes, dreams and in the end we saw Sophie realizing her biggest dream without her :(
Cant expect any less from ABBA!!
This woman is fabulous. Flipping love her.
You know what? I bet the cast and crew had a ball making this film. Awesome music, superb cast, gorgeous location and absolutely no need to hold back anything at all. God I wish I'd been in this film or just worked on it in any shape or form. If you can watch this film without grinning your head off and at least tapping your toe to the music you need to donate yourself to medical science because you're already dead and have been for some time. :)
Well, most of the cast and crew were drunk while filming so yeah I imagine they had a great time
I remember watching the behind the scenes and Pierce Brosnan loved it so much he was praying there'd be a sequel. And sure enough there was.
“We done good girls “. Love it. She’s a superstar. I’ve been a fan since Cybil.
Lots of good memories of riding in the car with my mom and singing along to this soundtrack.
Same man. It's been like 13-14 years now since i first saw this movie. Its what started my interest in music
I'm that mom :)
5:14 The fact that Christine was around 58/59 while filming this and could do that 🤯 Like I’m 21 and i’d tear every muscle in my hip if I did that 😂
I was sure you got that wrong, I can’t believe it, she doesn’t even look her age now! Amazing!
She was 56 at the time Mamma Mia came out, which was in 2008. She just turned 70 last month.
Christine is incredible and a different breed of human- she’s better than us commoners. I’ve grown to be obsessed with her over the past few years lol
@@omarcogle1965 I was 4 when this film came out. That makes me feel old.
@@eleanorcooke7136 I was 27 going on 28 when this film came out, now I'm 37.
Christine is extraordinary in everything she does, and this number lets her really cut loose. I’ve seen a number of comments about the Stag at 2:20 (lower left, wearing necklace) who swings his hips better than the beach waves! I’m almost certain it’s British dancer-actor, Ed White.
I think "Mamma Mia!" is the only jukebox musical I enjoy.
You don’t like Rock Of Ages? I agree Mamma Mia is amazing!!! I was actually Bill Austin in a production of it just these past 2 weeks!!

The nostalgic feels I get when I listen to this song, I hope we get a third movie even if I have to wait another ten years I would 😭❤
I love Christine Baranski! She is fabulous as Tanya. Her sense of humor is priceless. Just old enough to be bitter and just bitter enough to be hilarious!
I used to pretend to be her when I was younger, endive just kinda grown up looking up to her (specifically in this movie) because shes just a full on mood and I love that.
This movie is gold but scene will forever be the best. The diaper part makes me laugh every time 😂😂😂
THIS SONG IS SO HER
Loved the entire crew, but this scene with Christine Baranski is my favorite 💟 She's Brilliant.
I’m impressed she never spilled her drink. Now that’s talent.
I wish Pepper had come back for the sequel. He was an amazing dancer. Mind you, so is Christine Baranski. They just worked so well together in this scene.
Seeing an older lady be so flirty and sexy is so refreshing and wholesome to me. Getting older is inevitable, but being old is a choice.
Have to flirt with the older ladies they always get the craic going lol

BEVERLEY HOFSTADTER WAS BORN TO SING THIS 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This must have been after that night when Penny taught her how to drink and enjoy it😁 Who knows, maybe to cure that massive hangover Beverly treated herself to Long Island Ice Tea at the airport, downed it down as quickly as Sheldon did and instead of going home, she ended up at the beach, where another drink "calmed the pants of her"? 😉😉

She’s so amazing. This is HER song. I also can’t stop laughing when she does that scream when she sees the fish on the boat and when her shoe falls off. Can we also mention she’s got some AMAZING legs.
Also my mother is 17 years older than my dad so she loves this song too 🤣🤣
Drunk people, drunk people all over the set. Legend
Tanya is just all moods in one iconic character
i really like how this scene took a song that traditionally was pretty fucking weird in the way it sexualised a young girl from a man’s viewpoint and instead used it to empower the sexuality of a middle aged woman without judgement which is something we don’t usually see in media very often!!!!
I agree with you that I love the way they swapped the roles around and showed it's the same deal no matter which one is older, but I felt the original was a very good message too. I'm not sure why you think the guy in the original lyrics was sexualizing the girl. He was warning her not to go after older men who, unlike himself, might take advantage or at least ridicule her innocence. Girls do often pursue older men romantically, certainly as much as boys do older women, and those men often cruelly brush them off as 'just kids' that don't have real feelings; or worse, assume they 'know what they're doing, because she came after me' and take advantage without perhaps even intending to. The great thing about this song is that it uses humour for the older man/woman to gently let down the boy/girl that while their feelings may be as real as their elders, they need to 'take it slow' to catch up and be ready for things they don't know enough about/aren't ready for yet - without directly insulting their youthful ignorance. As a teacher in secondary school, I know humour is an important way to control crushes from teenage students without either hurting their self-esteem or letting things get out of hand. This song reminds me of that whether it's sung by a man or a woman. I think it's a very caring message underneath the sexy vibes.
Why should there be a difference, though, whether it's a man or a woman singing it? Why is one good and the other bad?
Not sure I agree with you here. You’re kinda making a a double standard out of the whole thing. How could it be okay from a woman’s viewpoint and not a man’s?
@@susanahollenback1518 There is a double standard. There are always double standards, some valid others not, and anyone who wants to pretend there isn't is being dishonest. The fact is that an older woman is far less likely to take advantage of a younger man or pursue a long term relationship with them while men do it so routinely society is becoming numb to it when it shouldn't be. The double standard is that older women show far more better judgment than older men who run around trying to dip their old wicks into some fresh wax to feel young again or get an ego boost. While older women tend to want a man who will treat them right and share the same commonalities and spend the rest of their lives together.
@@DorianFrostbite sorry but that makes no sense. Yes double standards exist, there’s no denying that especially given your blatant opinions. That doesn’t make them right. Plenty of older women take advantage of their position over younger men/boys. Regardless of gender, what’s an inappropriate age gap is inappropriate. In the case of this song and the gender roles, either way? It wasn’t a bad message if you actually listen to it. You can’t say it’s okay for one to act a certain way and not the other. That’s ridiculous
Personally one of the best songs from the movie
