    The trick to the stickers to get better lines is let the powder fully flow. Right after you get smoke let it roll about a minute longer. Then pull the part out of the oven. Be ready with your dental tool and pull the stickers at the 120-160 range. If you get any sticky residue let it cool a bit more. After I started pulling the stickers hot I haven’t got a bad line. Doesn’t madder the powder either. ‘Candy’ ‘wrinkle’ solids.. all pull about the same.
    Also when the part starts to cool hit it with a heat gun for just a few seconds. Heat a few letters ,pull them... heat a few more. Rinse and repeat.

    Good video brother, my big oven build is still coming along slowly, but LOTS of other stuff going on around it as well, still ramping up to get out of being confined with small stuff as a limitation, as well as the 50 hours per week at the "regular" job, and life going on around them both to fill in the gaps.

    Been learning PC on our own for the last few months. Basically, we needed more creative control over our projects. Stuff we don't need to be creative with (typical forks, frames, etc) I still send to my great vendor who always does a great job. However, the small batch creative stuff is what we like to do in-house. Been doing vinyl cutting for decades (as well as CO2 laser cutting) and have tried to figure out how to use them with PC process. This video was well done and answered so much for me. Your issues with the letter "K" was well explained and answered my concerns that I had going in. Your results were exactly what I had in mind! I look forward to experimenting and sharing anything unique we discover back to you. The Avery mask, is it 100-235-S? Many thanks!!

    Coating the back side of the wheel is definitely an issue. Not for failure tho. If you dont tape it off you will never get a true balanced wheel. The other issue I see is the center of the hub which causes the lugs to seat improperly when coated. I'm a wheel specialist so I'm pretty sure I'm correct seeing as how I've dealt with these issues first hand.

    • @tictack8604
      @tictack8604 Před 5 lety

      Well I've been dealing with tires for about 35 years and I've never ever had an issue getting a true balance because you balance them after their powder coated when you put the wheel on the rim so powdering the back of the rim has no effect on it whatsoever

    • @RingYoBell
      @RingYoBell Před 5 lety +2

      It’s not an issue of “failing” or not balancing properly. All mating surfaces (specially parts like wheels, calipers,etc) should not be coated in order to be properly torqued down. If not you should recheck the re torque the wheel periodically.

    • @jaymeduncan747
      @jaymeduncan747 Před 3 lety

      If adhesion is an issue or powder is too thick it can definitely cause issues. What is balanced today might not be tomorrow. The wheels in video looked really badly pitted with blast im assuming but that could have been hidden after coats. Polished aluminium needed to be keyed! Nothing for the powder to grab

    • @gotwoodwoodworking7115
      @gotwoodwoodworking7115 Před 5 lety

      Yes you can. Humidity doesn’t really have much effect like it would on paint because of the oven. Paint has to air dry but powder ‘flows’ ‘cures’ in the oven. Once it cools down it’s bullet proof. Just make sure you have a way to supply dry air from the compressor. Even a few cheap dryers from amazon or Harbor Freight work fine. If you get fuzzies add another dryer.
