  • In this video I am going to teach you how to make some good ol' white bread...with some honey! This is very easy and you will love the flavor and texture of the bread.
    Ingredients:
    1 Cup of Warm Water
    3 Tbs of Sugar
    1 Tbs of Honey
2 1/4 Tsp of Active Dry Yeast
    1 Beaten Egg
    1 Tsp of Salt
    3 Cups of Flour
Start by adding the warm water, sugar, honey and yeast into the mixing bowl. Whisk until everything is incorporated. While the yeast is activating for 5-10 min get your other ingredients ready to go. Beat a room temperature egg and set aside. Measure out the flour and salt into another bowl. Once the yeast is activated go ahead and add the flour and the egg. Let the mixer do the work of kneading the dough! 5-8 minutes later you should have a nice dough ball. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover for 1 hour to rise. Once it has doubled in size remove the dough and punch it down. Place in your loaf pan and let it rise again for 45 min to 1 hour until doubled in size again. Brush a little milk on top of the dough. Finally its time to bake! Heat the oven to 400 degrees and bake the dough for 5 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and finish baking for 25 to 30 minutes or until the dough sounds hollow when you thump it or is 190 degrees. Pull the bread from the pan and allow to cool on a rack. Slice and eat quickly because once everyone in the house smells fresh made bread there won't be any left!

Helpful tip: If you spray your Tablespoon with Pam before you squeeze the honey into the spoon it will glide right off. I made this bread using this recipe and it’s a total winner!

I subscribed to your channel without checking any of your other videos. I thought it was a cooking channel. When I see that you are a pastor also it made my day. We are getting closer to the Lord as a family. I haven't been the consistent Christian that I need to be. I've allowed my life to get too busy on many occasions in the past and not kept him in the center of it all where he belongs. I am so thankful for his Grace and patience. I watched your video, just wanting to learn more about cooking at home and eating healthy. Not that honey bread is all that good for me when I'm trying to trim down. 😎 Anyway, looking to learn more about cooking and ended up getting blessed in another way when I opened your channel to see what other videos you had. Thank you and Praise the Lord Jesus

ShanKris in real life. Thank you! We are looking forward to new cooking video's. I'm cooking Salmon patties and fried potatoes for dinner. Looks like we cook more than our wives do but that's ok because I like to cook too. God Bless!

Hey! I love this recipe! I make it often now it tastes delicious. I think you may have forgotten to include the shortening in the description of the video? Keep up the great work!

As noted in the comments below the recipe in the description omits the 2 tablespoons of shortening (although the video mentions it).
It's a great and easy recipe, and I'm no baker; this was my first attempt at bread without using a bread machine. Here's my substitution list (it's a wonder I have a mixer or an oven lol): I used 3 tablespoons of honey b/c I was out of sugar; I used lard instead of shortening; I used rapid rising dry yeast (same measurement; not sure what the difference is); and I covered the dough with a dish towel instead of plastic wrap b/c I was out of plastic wrap.
Turned out so perfect I'm making it again today. Great video -- thanks!

I hate getting honey and shortening on my fingers too. I found a very small spatula that works really well.
I liked your video and just subscribed.
I have also just started a channel on cooking and gardening and would love to gave you as a subscriber.
And YES I am shamelessly trying to build my channel hahaha
Much good luck to your future growth
