  • Traditional white bread is usually made from bread flour because it is higher in gluten. I don’t buy much of it myself and I figured a lot of you are on the same boat. When I make my bread I use all purpose flour and it works amazing. So, if bread flour is keeping you from making your own bread turn on the oven and put on your apron. This recipe will fix that right now. Wondering how you can make white bread with all purpose flour? this video shows you the step by step and you will be surprised on how easy it is. It's the best bread recipe ever.
    Easy white bread recipe
    White bread recipe
    Oven temperature: 375F degrees
Bake time: 22-25 min or until golden brown (internal temperature of 190F)
Water milk temperature for yeast: 105F-110F
    One 9x5 loaf pan
    IMPORTANT NOTES:
1.Mix and knead on medium low speed only.
    2. If dough is still sticking after one minute of kneading, add additional flour one TBSP at a time until the right consistency is achieved. It should feel lightly sticky when pressed and smooth.
    3. Dough should proof just until doubled in size both times.
1/8 of cup warm water (28g)
1 cup of warm milk (226g)
2 tsp active dry yeast (7g)
    1 TBSP sugar + a pinch (12g + a pinch)
1 TBSP unsalted butter, melted (13g)
2 TBSP softened room temperature unsalted butter (30g)
    1 1/2 tsp salt (8g)
    2 1/4 cup All purpose flour + 3 TBS (359g)
Spray for greasing bowl & plastic wrap
Important: If your bread is not golden brown and has not reached an internal temperature of 190F degrees. Let it bake longer. The time the bread bakes may vary depending on your oven.

Proofing tip. If your oven has a light in it, Turn on the light and place the dough in the oven. The light puts off just enough heat to give the dough a nice warm place to rise. Chef Jerry

turn on your oven light 15 minutes prior to making this bread.. once your dough is ready for the first rising place it in the oven covered with a tea towel it will raise beautifully in about an hour..got this cool idea from my Mother..worked every time... don't forget to press out the gas out of the dough before you move on to the final process of the making the bread..re-rise it again for about an hour then bake it at desired temperature usually 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes

I've only got a handheld electric mixer, but you can still do this with your hands like they used to way back, this way might be longer but the taste of hardworking hands making bread with love is unmatched and 😍

I made a beautiful loaf (great "sponge"), with this recipe, and a few simplifications. My particular disability is that I easily get confused (post-stroke), so I need to reduce steps and ingredients to their simplest form.
    1. Stated all measurements in Tbsp. Ex., 1 1/2 tsp (salt) = 1/2 Tbsp; 2 tsp (yeast) rounded to 1 Tbsp (3 tsp) OR simply use 1 packet (2.25 tsp).
    2. Eliminated the poulis (mixing yeast with water+), because INSTANT active dry yeast does not require this step -- just combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
    3. Heat 1 cup Milk and 2 Tbsp water. Also temperature can be up to the 120s, per yeast instructions.
    4. All other instructions remain the same.
This is now the EASIEST white bread recipe. The bread is approximately a 50% hydration -- the ratio of liquid to flour, and a classic white bread.
Thank you for posting this video!

Bob Riopel awesome! I have a query, since you used instant yeast, did you make any adjustment to the 2 tsp of active dry yeast. I really want to try this recipe. Thanks.

    • @VillaCocina
      @VillaCocina  Před 4 lety

Chris Strobel you should be fine. The only thing I would say is add your flour in small amounts towards the end and stop once you reach the right consistency or If you need more flour add a TBSP at a time. You shouldn’t be too far off. Let me know how it goes.

The humidity and elevation make a big difference in making bread. I’ve made the same yeast roll recipe in Texas, Kentucky and Georgia. The first time there was such a difference with amount of flour especially in Georgia I thought I had miscounted. Keep making bread as taste is more important than beauty. Beauty comes in time. Have fun with your baking!

I’m fairly new to the bread making world myself, but as I go I’m learning that I prefer a sticky dough RATHER THEN to much flour!! Cause u can always add a little more flour while in kneading process!! I flour table my hands, turn dough out onto the table, always add a little at a time as you go you’ll find your favorite consistency, hope this helps, knead on lol
