- Traditional white bread is usually made from bread flour because it is higher in gluten. I don’t buy much of it myself and I figured a lot of you are on the same boat. When I make my bread I use all purpose flour and it works amazing. So, if bread flour is keeping you from making your own bread turn on the oven and put on your apron. This recipe will fix that right now. Wondering how you can make white bread with all purpose flour? this video shows you the step by step and you will be surprised on how easy it is. It's the best bread recipe ever.
Easy white bread recipe
White bread recipe
Oven temperature: 375F degrees
Bake time: 22-25 min or until golden brown (internal temperature of 190F)
Water milk temperature for yeast: 105F-110F
One 9x5 loaf pan
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1.Mix and knead on medium low speed only.
2. If dough is still sticking after one minute of kneading, add additional flour one TBSP at a time until the right consistency is achieved. It should feel lightly sticky when pressed and smooth.
3. Dough should proof just until doubled in size both times.
1/8 of cup warm water (28g)
1 cup of warm milk (226g)
2 tsp active dry yeast (7g)
1 TBSP sugar + a pinch (12g + a pinch)
1 TBSP unsalted butter, melted (13g)
2 TBSP softened room temperature unsalted butter (30g)
1 1/2 tsp salt (8g)
2 1/4 cup All purpose flour + 3 TBS (359g)
Spray for greasing bowl & plastic wrap
Important: If your bread is not golden brown and has not reached an internal temperature of 190F degrees. Let it bake longer. The time the bread bakes may vary depending on your oven.

Update: I have added weight measurements since it was highly requested. You can find them in the description box.
Thank you for leaving so many amazing comments. You are the BEST!!!
may i ask do you scoop the flour in the measuring cup or do you add spoon by spoon till it’s full?
that bread was very nice and the texture looks very good thanks for the video for showing me how to bake my own bread from scratch thank you so much and more success in your future idea of baking.
I did not get d recipe, pls send d recipe thnx
Chef I need sourdough bread and statar recipe and making process plz give a video
Hi, I would like to request a recipe of white soft bread. Thanks
Proofing tip. If your oven has a light in it, Turn on the light and place the dough in the oven. The light puts off just enough heat to give the dough a nice warm place to rise. Chef Jerry
Thanks
Yea! And a draft free environment helps a lot.
L e d’ s. Do not give any heat. FYI.
Your technique works. Thanks 👍🏼
@@rogerramjet7567 do they use LED’s in ovens. I haven’t seen them yet. This technique with the oven light works great and I’ve been using it for years. It’s draft free as well.
Alot of appreciation to those who prepare and bake their own bread 🍞.
My eyes saying 'yes I can do it'
My hands saying 'no you can't'
My heart saying 'yes I'm gonna try anyway'
You can do it. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't turn out as nice as you thought it would - practice makes perfect. I'm a 73-years old male and still making bread (white, wheat, and sour-dough) from scratch. Most turn out okay . . . some not so much /shrug/
OMG I have made this bread 5 times now. It has come out perfect every time. This is an amazing recipe.
Great to hear!
Does it taste exactly like the white bread from the grocery store?
I'm very confused abt flour amt! Where can I find ingredients?
how many cups of flour
You should have a total of 2 and 1/4 cups +3 tablespoons of flour
This is THE best recipe hands down!!! I have made bread several times before, and they've always came out dense or smelling and tasting too much of yeast for my taste. The techniques that you use in this recipe make for a light, fluffy, and great smelling loaf! I followed the recipe to a tee and was so proud of myself... for the 1st time, my kid ate my bread and didn't ask for "the real supermarket bread" instead 🤣
Wohoo!!!! 🥳 I’m celebrating your success! Way to go.
😂
I've tried probably 20 bread recipes in the last month and this one was a game changer. Your instructions really made all the difference and seeing the steps visually helped me make sure I was doing things right through the entire process. It's so good!
The very best bread recipe, tyvm 🙏❤️
I always read the comments under bread recipes and they ALL say exactly what you say. It makes me so confused! They all have different ingredients and amounts. I've just started bread making with artesian bread, but it is so hard crusted.
I want to make this soft bread but with all these different recipes ingredients, I can't decide. This is the only recipe that has butter, instead if oil, and Milk!
This is the best white bread I’ve ever made. I’ve tried all sorts of recipes and this one has so much more flavor than any other, even my mom’s recipes! Thanks a million!!
The step by step description makes it seem so easy. I will have to try this out. Thank you for sharing
This really was the softest, fluffiest bread recipe that I have made! It stayed fresh longer too. I will be making it again today. Thank you!
turn on your oven light 15 minutes prior to making this bread.. once your dough is ready for the first rising place it in the oven covered with a tea towel it will raise beautifully in about an hour..got this cool idea from my Mother..worked every time... don't forget to press out the gas out of the dough before you move on to the final process of the making the bread..re-rise it again for about an hour then bake it at desired temperature usually 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes
thank you! Glad I read this before I tried the recipe. It has been years since I made bread... I had forgotten about pressing out the gas. lol
The video presenter did de-gas after first rise, before she folded and shaped for the tin. It is not good to punch down as they used to.
@@stizelswik3694 it was shown to you in the video.
I would just like to say that yours is the most concise easy understandable recipe and demonstration I've seen on baking bread. I can't wait to try to emulate your success. Thank you very much!!!
I learned how to perfect bread making from this video. Simple instructions that turns a loaf out beautifully every time. I've made this recipe 10 times now. Gracias por todo!
Made this softest bread yesterday for Sunday morning breakfast... We loved it. Our home was filled with a wonderful aroma of bakery... Thank you for the recipe... From India🇮🇳
Glad you liked it
Finally used this recipe and it turned out perfectly and it’s so delicious. Thank you!! Already added to my written recipe book ❤️
In the past, i attempted at making bread several times and it was always limp and not fluffy. But i gave your recipe a try today and OH MY GOODNESS it is the best bread I have ever tasted!! Amazing is not the word ♥️♥️ thank you so much ♥️♥️
Great recipe! I tried this for my parents at home and they were surprised and enjoyed it and so did I! Keep up the great recipes 👍
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe! I made the bread on Saturday and even though I had a bit of a challenge at one of the steps (the dough didn't come together for me in the mixer) I just turned the dough out on a marble slab and kneaded it by hand and it came out perfect. It was soft and tasty and great for leftover turkey sandwiches. I really appreciate the work you put into your video- many thanks!
Great job! and good call on taking the time to knead by hand. I bet it was delicious!
Only watched about 2 min and can already tell this channel deserves top spot. This woman is actually explaining what's going on. I don't subscribe to any channels but I might actually click it for this one. This lady has all my respect and I can't wait to make a loaf using this recipe!
This bread is fantastic! The entire family loved it. Thank you for putting this video together.
Thank you am watching from Tanzania East Africa and I Love your recipes! You are lovely person really eloquent and articulate! Be blessed.
I love this recipe !!, I'm a new baker and now starting to make breads and this recipe is simple, works every time and taste great.
This is a really well done tutorial. Thank you so much! I’m really trying to get better at yeast breads.
I have been baking bread for over 25 years and tried many different recipes. This is definitely one of the best I have found for white bread and AP flour. I followed the recipe to the letter (using weights) and it came out perfectly the very first time. I will be making it regularly from now on.
This recipe was so easy and so spot on!!! I tried 4 different recipe and non worked but this one !!!! Was so easy ! And my loaf of bread was gone in minutes ! Lol

I love to see lady who loves to share what she knows... Admiring you!! just keep safe always.
that bread looks absolutely beautiful and delicious!
Haven't made the bread (yet), but have to tell you that your video quality is excellent. I remember thinking "Did she really just take that dough paddle back off just so we could see in the pan better?" great job. The time you took to make this video makes it one of the best cooking/baking videos I've seen. So thank you!
I watched a lot of recipes on bread but I couldn’t understand or get what the video was saying but this one showed everything I need. I made it and it was sooooo delicious!! I can’t even believe I made it!! Thank you 😊
Looks good!
I'll try your recipe..u make it look easy
Have not made this yet but I wanted to thank you for all of the extra details. details like providing us this size of the dough when you are rolling it out. That is so important and is left out of so many other people's tutorials.
Has anyone tried to make this with bread flour? I have more bread flour than I have all purpose.
This bread is look like Amezing thank you very much for sharing
I hope I never lose this recipe because it's turned a first time bread baker into a new hobby! This is the best, sweetest, softest bread I have ever tried. Thank you!!

Brilliant recipe! After multiple failed attempts with various recipes. This one worked perfectly! Thank you so much
Thank you so much. After seeing this video i made it 3 times a huges success. We run out of bread so making these was life savior. For everyone asking i did mine by hand as i don't own the electric mixer. My first proofing is 2hrs and 2nd proofing 1 1/2 hour. I made 2 loaf today... i really thank you for sharing this

Hello. How long did you knead the dough and how did you know that it was ready? Awaiting your response as Your answer would help me a great deal. Thank you
Rachy Dada knead for 5-8 min or until smooth and elastic. This is with a stand mixer. By hand it could take longer.

In my opinion, homemade bread should be the real one, and supermarket bread is 😑. We don't add preservatives or chemicals when making our own bread, unlike store bought ones.
@@aviationchannel6204 True! Trying to teach my kid that while he's still young! :-)
Love your step by step explanation, your tone and voice and no fuzz video...just perfect! Not too long like others.
I have been following the WRONG recipe for months now!!! This is so much easier and works so much better! Thank you!
This bread looks amazing - thanks for sharing
Hmm k
Waoo its great never seen such a beautiful bread in my life. Must be very tasty
Just made your bread recipe…hands down the best. I am a newly baker for bread. The bread came out so soft. This will be my go to bread recipe from now on. Thanks for breaking down the instructions. I had your video playing during every step. Pausing, rewinding, lol. Love it!!!🥰
I love your confidence. The bread loaf looks perfect, great job.
Thanks for the recepi... I made double ( 2 loafs)yesterday and that was my first time making bread. I follow step by step except the kneed I did it MANUAL by hand.. I don't have the mixer. But the bread is the best . Turn out beautiful and texture so perfect.
Wonderful!
Hi.. May i ask how long does manual kneading take?
@@karladimaun3761 I did it arround 10 to 15 minutes . I also kept slammed it to the bowl I used .😁
My second time baking bread and I feel like an adult. The first time my bread didn’t pass the window pane test but this time with your recipe I didn’t even have to try the window pane test. I’m currently on my first proofing stage and I know for a fact this bread is gonna turn out amazing. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I wish I could show you the final result I’ll take pics in case there’s some way you could see it in the future. Also, your presence in the video is very welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for more recipes.
What's the window pane test?
Gracias for the recipe...Thumbs up !!!
Primera vez que hago este pan y quedo brutal...I love it...thanks so much !!!
My husband loves this bread. Thank you. This recipe is amazing!
I’ve tried this recipe and it turns so soft and delicious. My family love it.Thank you for sharing.

Great recipe and helpful presentation. Tip: To speed the proofing, preheat your cool oven with the oven light ONLY. It will heat to about 90 degrees, and your dough will proof in less than one hour.
I don't have an oven light.
Hi, I jusf want to thank you for posting your recipes, I have made several of them already and can say i am very happy, so are my kids. Thank you for your amazing cooking and sharing with us your delicious food!
Thanks for sharing this recipe, you explain each step which is great and I have produced wonderful bread from this recipe. I am so grateful .
Made two loves of this today! I middle of mixing with my stand mixer it gave out ☹️ but I continued on doing it all by hand and both came out wonderful! Can't wait to make some more in a couple days!!!!
Oh almost forgot to mention, my house smelled so good while these were baking!!!
Ashlee Ennen great! Happy to know you enjoyed it. Yes the smell is dreamy! 😊
It so beautiful yum yum
Kneading by hand is tedious but feels so authentic. Glad you didn't give up on the dough when the tools let you down.
@@VillaCocina Where is the recipe? I can't see it
@@nagyp1223 it's supposed to be in the description box. there should be a little down arrow to the very right underneath the picture of the video and if you click on that more information will pop up
Can you use instant yeast for this recipe? Will I have to change anything? Can I also hand-knead it? Thanks, love the vid
Fabulous! I’m making this recipe! Thank you.
Loree Davis go for it! 😊
I love that you buttered the top! Thats a great tip I will now incorporate into my bread making adventures. Thank you so much!!!
Great recipe! Here’s a tip : turn on your oven for two minutes at 350 degrees and turn it off immediately at the two minutes mark, place your dough in the oven for a perfect environment to proof your dough!
It's safer just to turn your oven light on that will warm up the oven.
I have even done that too keep my tomato plants growing before I bought a grow light they loved the warmth
I have tried a lot of bread recipes since I've been on lockdown and this is by far the best bread recipe I've ever had, my loaves came out beautifully and they tasted great also. Thank you so much,
Love it!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Beautiful bread!! I appreciated how detailed and meticulous your explanation and directions were!!Thank You!!🌺🌹🌷
You are so welcome!
The bread turned out so delicious! Thank you!
Wow! This looks amazing! I can't wait to make this. But, I don't have an electric mixer, only a hand mixer. What do I do then?
I've only got a handheld electric mixer, but you can still do this with your hands like they used to way back, this way might be longer but the taste of hardworking hands making bread with love is unmatched and 😍
Me and my mom just made a loaf! Can’t wait for the end result! We didn’t have a bread pan so we used a baking pan but hope it works! I will update you later!

I loved the last step when you indulged into it. Looked yummy and I felt so hungry, couldn’t wait to eat it. Ordered mine with a hot cup of tea from my domestic help. Lovely 😊

@@VillaCocina nice
I made a beautiful loaf (great "sponge"), with this recipe, and a few simplifications. My particular disability is that I easily get confused (post-stroke), so I need to reduce steps and ingredients to their simplest form.
1. Stated all measurements in Tbsp. Ex., 1 1/2 tsp (salt) = 1/2 Tbsp; 2 tsp (yeast) rounded to 1 Tbsp (3 tsp) OR simply use 1 packet (2.25 tsp).
2. Eliminated the poulis (mixing yeast with water+), because INSTANT active dry yeast does not require this step -- just combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
3. Heat 1 cup Milk and 2 Tbsp water. Also temperature can be up to the 120s, per yeast instructions.
4. All other instructions remain the same.
This is now the EASIEST white bread recipe. The bread is approximately a 50% hydration -- the ratio of liquid to flour, and a classic white bread.
Thank you for posting this video!
Bob Riopel awesome! I have a query, since you used instant yeast, did you make any adjustment to the 2 tsp of active dry yeast. I really want to try this recipe. Thanks.
Loved your video. Please write instructions and recipe for seniors that can not keep up with the speed of video. Loved your presentation and your skill to maintain the audience alert and informed. I am from Puerto Rico and enjoy cooking and baking. God bless be watching out for more.

@@aditighosh4000 No, no really. But, I do frequently add a tad more.
Your baking skills technique are excellent! It looks so yummy! Wanna try this soon.
That looks so good I have to try that thank you for your Recipe
Hey! I tried and loved your bread, my question is can I just simply double the recipe to make two loaves? Or is there some adding or subtracting of ingredients to make it right? Thanks for the good recipe.
Chris Strobel you should be fine. The only thing I would say is add your flour in small amounts towards the end and stop once you reach the right consistency or If you need more flour add a TBSP at a time. You shouldn’t be too far off. Let me know how it goes.
I like the measurements in grams.
You are so right. Baking bread is so rewarding. I'm always amazed I can do it.
First time ive ever baked bread waiting for it to rise as im commenting
Im soooooo excited!!! Haven't had freshly baked bread since my grandma made it when i was like 13 at christmas time theres nothing like it.
Easy to follow video and i appreciate the ingredients being in the description thank you so much I'll let you know how it goes
i’m in the middle of making this bread. i’ve just added the 3T of flour, still very sticky. ☹️
Kneading should get the dough to the right consistency. It should feel slightly sticky when pressed. Hope this helps.
Villa Cocina .........i had to add another full cup! it did turn out but no where as nice looking as yours. i guess practice makes perfect. i will try again. 😊
The humidity and elevation make a big difference in making bread. I’ve made the same yeast roll recipe in Texas, Kentucky and Georgia. The first time there was such a difference with amount of flour especially in Georgia I thought I had miscounted. Keep making bread as taste is more important than beauty. Beauty comes in time. Have fun with your baking!
I’m fairly new to the bread making world myself, but as I go I’m learning that I prefer a sticky dough RATHER THEN to much flour!! Cause u can always add a little more flour while in kneading process!! I flour table my hands, turn dough out onto the table, always add a little at a time as you go you’ll find your favorite consistency, hope this helps, knead on lol
Thank you for the recipe this helps me alot.
I made this bread yesterday and OMG it came out amazing. It was so fluffy and buttery. I will definitely make this again !!! Thank you
