The UFC is special! no other sport tries as hard to give the fans what they want to see
this year has alot of mma champs and fighters quitting.
for being "the toughest guys on the planet". they sure do quit alot
261 brought so many amazing moments, but I gotta go 268. Literally had a string of crazy finishes all the way up to the main card. And even then, every fight on the main card was incredible. As someone who went, it was one of the highlights of my entire year.

@@flipf615 as someone who didn't go, aka a non biased opinion since youre so nit picky and negative, 268 was the best event this year and one of the best events ever. This whole year had crazy events but it is undeniable that 268 stood out.
267 is so underrated
2:40 One of the best combo I've ever seen: from a left hook to a spinning punch, then a left hook from the southpaw position.
Yan stance's transitions in between strikes are the best.
Yan has some top level boxing and like you said his transitions are phenomenal. This guy is a different animal in Bantamweight. Can't wait to see him earn the real belt back

261 Had the best Hype (Fans coming Back, insane Fight endings), 267 Abu Dhabi is the Most underrated (6 top Level Fights) and 268 was the best (amazing Prelims, amazing Main card with Foty Chandler vs Gaethje, Colby vs Usman 2)
Honestly thought 269 was better than 268 both are insane n were great prelims to main event but 269 was just a bit better IMO

I gotta go with UFC 261. Usman baptizing Masvidal, thug Rose knocking out Weili, Shevchenko smashing Andrade, the Weidman leg break, Jimmy crute getting dead leg, it was insanity
Everything except Schevchenko disappointed me that night.
Really wanted to see Hall compete against weidman. It lasted seconds. Really wanted to see Weili go the distance with Rose (like she did with Joana). it lasted 60 seconds.
Really wanted Masvidal to pull the rabbit out of his hat (even though everyone with a right mind knew he didn’t stand a chance) and he got knocked out cold.
Thug Rose 🌹 is Awesome, yes this was one of the better cards of the year.
261 was absolutely pandemonium, the card was fantastic and return of the crowd really made it feel surreal after a year without it.
This year literally had it ALL. Hell we even had a fighter waiting for another fighter in the cage who never showed, and that virtually never happens.

Unman Covington 2. Probably the best card ever. All the big fights lived up to the hype and many amazing sleeper match-ups.

Nah, Rose v Zhang 2 was shit. Billy Q v Shane Burgos was a banger of a fight though, even though no footage was shown of it.

This was the greatest year in the history of the UFC, I am saying it as a fan who watches the sport for at least 10 years!
For PPVs yes, but there were some fight nights that were flat out bad
I've been watching since UFC 1 and it might indeed be the best year. Fighters have delivered, and Dana/UFC have handled all the lunacy as well as any sports org out there.

261 was definitely my personal favorite this year because of the insane hype of the fans being back in a packed areana. Not to mention every fight on the main card was a finish so it made it that much more exciting. 269 is definitely a close second because of the crazy upsets

UFC 266 definitely deserved a mention. Not as stacked with big names as some others, but nearly every single fight on the card delivered

268 but I was lucky enough to be there so I’m very biased but 269 should 100% be on here
267 was my personal favorite. Seeing Khamzat dominate Li, Islam dominate Hooker. Yan with a masterclass performance against Sandhagan and topping it off with Glover winning the belt. Amazing main card all the way through.

Petr Yan's striking almost seems surreal.
BTW, Colby did take Marty down. There have been other fighters with similar takedowns in the past and those were determined to be takedowns. It goes to show you the favoritism towards certain fighters when they took that one from Colby, just to protect Marty's stats.

Best event was the first event of the year. The one live on ABC, Holloway vs Kattar. It had knockouts, it had craziness and it had a record breaking performance by Holloway.
Man what a year. It wasn't easy watching all of these live from the netherlands but I'm so glad i did

Gaethji vs Chandler was my fight of the year, Sandhagen vs Dillasjaw was also up there , personally I loved watching chandler vs Oliveira live. on a side note Chandler fights are always a banger I just noticed while typing this even though he only won 1/3 in ufc non of them were boring. I'd gladly watch any fight he's in in the future

Amazing fights left and right, I can't even tell you which one was the best ! Sandhagen Yan, Aldo Font, Yair Holloway, Volk Ortega, Quarantilla Burgos, Barboza Chickadze, Perreira Gillespie, etc... What a year ! And what a sport ! I cannot wait for January 15th

Promoter and matchmaker Dana White and Sean Shelby captained and first-mated this organisation through a perfect storm. 268 or 269 imo. Both were amazing from prelims to main event with maybe 1 or 2 fights being mediocre, like Rose vs Zhang 2 and Ponzi vs Neal
261 had the craziest main card ever though

Yair Rodriguez vs Holloway had the card with the most finishes and those that weren't were still spectacular fights that went to decision. This one is my pick
Holloway v Rodriguez is such a sleeper. Definitely top 5 main event of the year. Almost every fight ended in a clean finish
For real if I remember right all fights except the first fight ended in a finish and then you had Holloway vs Rodriguez to close it out in a 5 round war
261 in my home town J-town and it was the first event with full fans since covid started. Also all the main card finishes.

Max vs yair is the best ufc event of the year from the first fight until the last one it was a banger a lot of finish it was amazing
God dam, that last elbow Max took sounded crazy. You could hear the thud, almost like a crack/whip noise, you can see it got his attention because he paused for a split second and kinda reached for his orbital then threw a light jab @7:56 ..I don’t understand how that didn’t atleast wobble him. When he got his hand raised that side was so swollen. Crazy how tough those two are. Watching it live was crazy but those highlights are great
I can't even imagine what it would have been like if there was no UFC to uplift during some of my low points this year.
Watching a good banger fight wierdly helps me get inspired again and add some well needed cheer!

Amazing year for fights, but 268 washes the competition here. Arguably the greatest fight card of all time
Valentina should be fight of the year. She is a living legend and we are lucky we are getting to witness her greatness in the octagon currently.
It blows my mind that UFC 267, UFC 268 and Fight Night: Holloway vs. Rodriguez took place between October 30th and November 13th.
Three of the best UFC events of all time all happened within a two week period. Just incredible.

This was by far the best year of fights for the UFC. I'm super biased picking UFC 261 because I'm from Jacksonville and have been following the sport for 20 years and that was my first time going to a live event.
269 was great for me but man what an amazing year in general. so many great events. a brightspot in these dark covidy times.

What a year of fights! Some takeaways from someone who doesn't matter much. Give Mad his flowers now... Such an incredible talent that I don't feel gets the respect that he has no doubt earned. Secondly, Thuggah Rosery is such a pleasure to watch complete. She just has a special aura about her. That's not a regular human being. And finally me and Chaels' one other listener of his podcast had such a great year of watching and discussing the fight world and a of it's idiocencasys. (Severe spell check on that last one... Sometimes you gotta take chances). :)
Nice to see the good UFC vegas fight cards are getting some love lol. Costa vs vettori deserves an honorable mention just because of the hilarious weight shenanigans by costa
