He likes the attention he gets because I’m sure that every time he walks out of his house he gets stares and he loves it…whether is a positive or negative reaction, he will get a reaction. Matt never said that a woman was someone who wore make up and heels, otherwise, Prince, the musician, would’ve considered himself female along with others. One thing is being a cross dresser and another thing is saying, “I am a woman.”
The fact that Matt is considered the bad guy for stating the overwhelmingly obvious really says something about how far we've fallen as a culture. It's quite sad.

While I agree with most his views on this, I found it unecessary. Someone who isn't a practitioner (no, I'm not talking about the value of arguments of authority) to carpet diagnose people will only inflame those who either don't want to listen to his message or who are easily swayed by their better nature and find themselves wanting to stand with those. In his response to their claims of trauma and nightmares, Matt was on point: they (and a lot of people on the other side of the argument) are bad people. It's not that they're necessarily crazy; it's that they're manipulative ego junkies. He's giving them an opening to claim "he's not an expert!!!"

We'll see a lot of minecraft deaths (cos if I say the S word, it's bye bye comment), and lawsuits in about 10-20 years when we're facing the damaged adults this whole process is going to bring about.
Not to mention we've already got a lot of damage being done to women's spaces (look at prisons, for example, and how some places have had to open maternity wards. Maternity wards. In women-only prisons). I mean, in the UK recently, two girls were... R by another "girl" in a high school bathroom. By the same bio male. On two separate occasions. Because he was allowed to parade around in a dress and enter bathrooms.

I'm sure there was support for his side on this topic and I believe there always is support for it. It's just these people are so imposing and they alienate folks who display it and try to make us the bad guys. I think this is the silent majority on the issue but if we're all too worried about these confused people making our lives so difficult when we respectfully speak up, they still end up winning anyway. Dr Phil hit on a nugget of wisdom. He asked a very loaded and roundabout question, about social constructs, and about how our 'concept' of gender could just be a social construct.
Matt missed a golden opportunity to point that maybe transgenderism is a REAL social construct, and everything that opposes it is actually just reality, and we are all just pretending it isn't.

I don't think any serious trans activist is claiming that womanhood depends on outward appearance. Trans activists would say that a woman is anyone who identifies as such, and that therefore true womanhood is internal, with whatever external modifications made being a matter of personal preference. So Caitly Jenner is a woman, albeit a trans woman, regardless of what she looks like, and the changes she made to her body are just her way of getting to feel more comfortable. Like when your run o the mill guy decides to grow a beard, but with bigger psychological implications. For example, Matt Walsh didn't need to grow a beard to be a man, he's a man regardless, he just grew it because he prefers it as a way of expressing his masculinity.

One question I've never heard asked and would love to have answered is, if your genitals don't define your gender, why does the trans community feel the need to transition? And into what?
