@@BurlFish79 American military analyst Scott Ritter: In 1991, I was one of those who planned and executed Operation Desert Storm. This operation included a 44-day strategic air campaign. The work of the Air Force began with the fact that we destroyed all means of communication. We hit radio and TV stations, we destroyed all bridges, all highways, all power plants, oil refineries and fuel reserves. It took us 44 days! And we thereby exterminated the inhabitants of Iraq. We have killed a huge number of Iraqi civilians. Russia is carrying out a large-scale military operation against the forces of Ukraine. Do you want to know what they didn't do? They did not destroy cellular communications and the Internet, did not destroy railways and highways. They made it possible for Ukrainians to move back and forth. They gave Zelensky the opportunity to arrange videoconferences with the US Congress, the British Parliament, the EU and NATO. Conferences that not only raise his status, but also lead to receiving billions of dollars in military aid that helps kill Russian soldiers. The military necessity to destroy the means of communication is indisputable, but the Russians did not do it. Why? Because the Russians do not see for themselves such a war as we saw against the Iraqis. The Russians see this as a special military operation. Many scoff at this formulation, but this is not a war. If it had been a war, Ukraine would have been long gone. They would have wiped it off the face of the earth without a trace. Unfortunately, events lead to that. Because the Ukrainians decided to defend themselves in residential areas, those where innocent people will die if you start bombing. But Russia's initial approach was soft. They did not use their military doctrine of superior firepower, when artillery compares everything to the ground, and then tanks iron everything in a row. They sent lightly armed detachments that tried to negotiate with everyone, persuading the heads of cities and towns to let them pass. The Russians were not accepted in peace, they suffered losses trying to act gently. But they have not changed their position. Their goal is not the defeat of Ukraine, but the defeat of the Nazis, disarmament with minimal damage. We must understand that the Russians have done everything humanly possible to minimize the damage to Ukrainian cities.
Former adviser to the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, retired Colonel Douglas McGregor drew attention to the fact that the Russian army is acting very carefully as part of the special operation in Ukraine. He stressed that this is not typical of Western countries. This is reported by the Spanish edition of El Mundo. "The Russian forces have done something that we in the West did not expect. It was instructed to avoid collateral damage and civilian casualties," McGregor explained to reporters. This is not the first time the American colonel has commented on the actions of the Russian Federation that are "uncharacteristic for Western countries." In March, he said that in his opinion, Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to treat Ukrainians as his neighbors, and does not "walk with a sledgehammer" through their country.
P.S. Ask yourself: who bombed Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan… The answer is obvious: NATO. Today they do it with the hands of Ukrainians, because they are afraid of Russians. Strangely, no one studies the chirology of events... And it is not in favor of Ukrainians. The Russians are totally losing the information war. Western media are factories of lies! An amazing fact, the Russian media is forbidden to show the act of the death of Ukrainian soldiers. Humane.
P.P.S. In an information war, the one who tells the truth always loses. He is limited by the truth, and a liar can carry anything. Robert Sheckley czcams.com/video/rXkFpu7pH2g/video.html&ab_channel=SignsOfTheEndTimes%3F czcams.com/video/Hg3WKP2iirs/video.html

@@florianmeier3186 Flags are symbols, not just some colored material. Take the United States war for independence. Many people died to make sure that flag was still standing, because they knew what it meant for the flag to fall. Sure the people are important, but I believe the message was made in the same spirit that Americans felt at one time. Doesn't really matter what country we are talking about, but most gained their independence in some way or another. Often through war. Would you let the flag fall knowing how many people fought for it to be there in the first place or those that continue to do so? Their country gives them their freedom, it's their home and is shaped by their hands. Why don't you ask the Ukrainians how they feel about their country and their flag? Many of whom are fighting as we speak for it. So no, it's not just some colored material...that's a simplistic view. Can just read the words of their anthem, where they say they will lay their soul and body for cherished freedom.

We Poles remember the crimes that Ukrainian nationalists committed in 1943. First they murdered all Jews! Then they murdered about 100,000 Poles. Women, children ... in a terrible way! For example, they cut people with a saw. Or they ripped the bellies of pregnant women and pulled out the child and put in a living cat in this place and sewn the stomach. Or they nail young children with the tongue at the table. Or they poured children to the forks. Or they cut the stomach and pulled out the intestines, which they winded up on sticks.
Most victims were not just shot. Most died in amazing torments. It was regular genocide made with the worst cruelty!
But no Ukrainian government has confessed to these crimes to this day. They even forbade to collect dispersed remains of victims and bury them in the grave! Are people doing so?
And today supporters of nationalism in Ukraine - Azov - parade in uniforms with SS Galizien patch! And the man who gave the orders of these crimes, Stepan Bandera, is today a national hero and they put monuments. This is a wild nation. These are not civilized people.

Words of this anthem and its message are so beautiful, through their whole history they were always fighting for their freedom and against the countries that were trying to colonize them. Whole Ukrainian history is a fight for freedom, they are incredibly strong and brave ppl

    • @alh6255
      @alh6255 Před 2 lety +2

In fact, Ukraine was fully colonized for several hundred years by Poland (and it was not an "attempt at colonization", dear "historian"). That is why Ukrainian language has so many similarities with the languages of Western Slavs, especially Polish, and differs so much from the East Slavic Russian, also in terms of its grammatical structure. Hence (Polish impact), so many houses in the cities, fortresses, mansions and palaces in Ukraine resembling Western Europe (ranging from late Gothic through Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Classicism, and ending with art deco in Western Ukraine). You also write nonsense, saying that Ukrainians have always fought for freedom.
On the contrary - for hundreds of years their elite (nobility, middle-class, educated people) willingly Polonized themselves. Also, the Cossacks (community from eastern Ukraine) willingly fought on behalf of the many Polish kings. They stopped when the king refused to grant them nobility and related social and financial privileges. They rebelled and thus fell into much worse situations - that is, they became addicted to Russia, which quickly took their freedom.
Anyway, Polish colonization ended in the second half of the 18th century, when the Polish parliament granted Ukrainians the right to independence and recognized them as the third equal nation within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Also, in the light of what the Russians did with the Ukrainians (especially in the east of the country, because the west was lucky to be away from Russia for a very long time), many Ukrainians thought that ties with Poland seemed to be a "memory of paradise". Especially against the background of Russia's primitive terrorist policy and Russia's lack of respect for human life or dignity.
For example, the flagship Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko wrote in the first half of 19th century that a Pole and a Ukrainian should shake hands, and together they will "create a paradise". . .
The real fight of the Ukrainians, as a whole nation, for independence began only in the 20th century, and in the years 1917-1920 it was supported by the Poles (cooperation of the Polish army with Petliura's troops).
Today, Poles and Ukrainians are modern societies and build new relationships on a cordial and partner level (rising above the dark years in the common past, especially in 1937-1944). I think this is a persistent and very optimistic phenomenon. Polish people really respect the Ukrainians for their pursuit of independence from Russia or anyone else, for their love of freedom, also when it comes to relations within society, and for their love for their own, very rich, culture. Ukrainians are not at all like Russians, who have always accepted terror and totalitarianism by the authorities. And recently, this respect of Poles has been greatly strengthened, at the sight of Ukrainian solidarity and their intelligent, compliant with civilized standards, consistent fight for a better future.

I just have big respect for Ukrainian people that they were always standing against oppresion. @@dytiscusmarginalis8443 It seems to me that you did not fully understand my post ... Anyway, also Poles should hear "I am very sorry" from the Ukrainians - it's about 150 000-200,000 inhabitants of Polish villages and the city of Lutsk in Volhynia, brutally murdered (or rather stabbed with pitchforks, burned alive chopped with axes and torn by horses) by Stepan Bandera's soldiers and their Ukrainian neighbours cooperating with the Nazis, in the summer of 1943.
No colonization led by Poles, no arrogance of Poles in the past, has matched the atrocities of this slaughter. I hope that now a new chapter in Polish-Ukrainian relations will finally open, in which there will be no room for such "heroes" as Bandera (or at least they will be honestly judged by the Ukrainians), especially since Ukraine has many other fantastic heroes.

Like we are almost always thinking about ourselfs as victims but we were sometimes really terrible. But its true that Ukraine has many heroes and can find without a problem non controversial ones. But there will be time for that after the war ends and its true that we can write new chapters in our history supporting each other and building alliance

      @alh6255 Před 2 lety

Yes: nothing ever justifies genocide. Period. At the moment, Poles are finally ready to forgive Volhynia, but also Ukrainians must show maturity and honestyhere. Besides, do not lie and do not lick the Poles like that, because you are very wrong. They talk quite a lot about what they did wrong in the past. I would also like to remind you that Ivan Franko hoped that Ukraine and Poland would be together again (as the real friends) because there were wonderful common moments and common mentality in the past too, And that together they can make "a paradise" - with freedom and mutual respect. On the contrary, with Russia it is impossible.

You effing Yanks have invaded enough countries in recent times in pursuit of your country’s effing imperialist desires. I’m from the Vietnam war era, conscripted to fight in that bloody war you lot started and ended up costing us 500+ young Australian lives. You lot have invaded Kuwait, Iraq, and Afganistan in the last 30 or so years for what? Absolutely your country’s financial benefit and the detriment of others. Mate, just pull your head in and be thankful that countries like Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain have been your allies. As far as I am concerned, Australia should give you lot the arse because you effing Yanks only care about yourselves. Grüße aus Australien.

@@vw6751 I did not sideline the people of Yemen here at all. Their plight is also a humanitarian disaster. The war in Ukraine which was instigated by Russia is making it difficult if not impossible for Ukrainian farmers to plant their crops this year because of land mines, destruction of farm equipment, buildings and farm houses which shall significantly reduce the yield this year and what could have been exported to countries which so direly need the wheat, barley, oats and more... Yemen being one of the countries which relies on these crops is already suffering from the ravages of aggression itself and famine will suffer more as well. . . This too is a human tragedy and the sooner this war is ended, the better Ukrainian farmers might have a chance to clear their fields of mines and plant something... but the window on that is closing (Around May 10-15).
