      @@awoken1445 Yep, the last verse that starts "At the party" was something I had never heard until years later when they played the album version on FM stations. When it first came out, I heard it on Top 40 radio, which played the single, which is the record I bought. Should have gotten the album!

    Cream was short-lived from 1966-1968, but they are such a classic band. Watch them play “Toad” from their reunion concert in 2005. It shows why their drummer Ginger Baker is hailed as an icon for future drummers.

  • @timtubemusic
    @timtubemusic Před 9 měsíci +9

    Cream was a super group in the 60's. They had one of the greatest guitarist ever in Eric Clapton and greatest technical drummer in Ginger Baker. Jack Bruce was also a great bassist. Cream, Blind faith, Ginger Bakers Air Force, with these same musicians changed rock and opened the door for Led Zeppelin.

    I love guitar, always have done and I LOOOVE that excessive wah-wah at 5:15 at the end of that solo(?). But I just can't help but air drum to this song in particular. And yet, after 15+ years, I still haven't got it down, Ginger's just too inventive and diverse with those toms and snare for me. Hell, I don't even know which one he's hitting half the time.

    Cream were great some bangers from them them include Sunshine of Your Love, I Feel Free, Strange Brew, Tales if Brave Ulyssess and SWLABR. Their drummer Gunger Baker had such a dry sense of humour, ge was once asked who were his influences on the drums and he said no one as I'm the best there's ever been he was fed up of being asked the same questions by journalists so he decided to be a bit mischievous.

    You can't go wrong by listening to the Disraeli Gears album. It was their second album and a great deal of work went into it at Atlantic Records' studio in New York, with Felix Pappalardi producing. Songs that stand out are Sunshine of Your Love (Cream's best known song), Tales of Brave Ulysses, and Outside Woman Blues.

    To illustrate how times have changed, I saw Cream at the Sam Houston Coliseum on October 24th 1968. I kept a clipping from the paper were it talked about the upcoming show, and it says ticket prices were $3, $4, $5, and $6. I can’t remember what price we paid when we saw them, but I do remember they were just incredible live.

    I never much liked this song. The falsetto vocals just seem so out of place here and Bruce doesn't have an overly strong voice as it is. I find Clapton to be vastly overrated. I prefer to listen to BBM i.e. Bruce, Baker, Moore (Gary). There are some great tracks on their album: Around the next dream. I suggest the song: "High Cost of Loving". Gary's playing outshines Clapton.
