Hey buddy, I needed this reaction today. The revelation you had during Candle in the Wind, the emotion in your face, and the sudden need to get facts on this masterpiece before going any further really touched my heart. I was in tears from there till the end of the reaction knowing a beautiful young man like you was experiencing and feeling great art before my eyes. Maybe there is still hope for the world.

100% yes!! This is impactful to myself in ways deeply beyond words. Elton was THE foundation to my own life now being what it is (you can see that buried among some vids on my own channel). And I appreciate your recognizing this young man's beauty! Indeed!! Much love to all. Without that, life is senseless! 💞

Elton also did a version of "Candle in the wind" when Princess Diana passed away. He changed the lyrics to "Goodbye England's Rose". Elton and Diana were very close friends, and he played the song at her funeral. It's a very powerful and emotional performance. You might want to give it a listen. May she RIP. 😢🇬🇧🥀

Candle in the wind is exquisite. Bernie Taupin's lyrics are so poignant and Elton delivers them beautifully and composed a lovely melody for them. I want to mention the production of this album by Gus Dudgeon. I think it still sounds fresh and crisp even to our 21st century ears. I also want to say how glorious the harmonies are provided by the guitarist, bassist and drummer. They add so much to the drama of this song.

If you were into rock and roll and you owned a turntable in the seventies, you owned this album. Simple as that. It plays almost like an Elton John greatest hits album part 1... That's how popular so many of the songs off of it became. "Bennie and the Jets" had to have been one of the most played songs on the radio of the 70s. You had the song coming out your ears. Couldn't get away from it. It's not live, it's about a make-believe band called 'Benny and the Jets'. All the crowd noises you hear are just recorded effects for the song. All done in studio.

I am so happy I am on this planet along with Elton! Listen to more for the compositions and the production skills of blending his voice with the instruments. Thank you for the great reaction video. Your reaction was the same one I had when I heard the opening track, the day it was released. This is a rock masterpiece, and to see your reaction mirror mine 50 years later is priceless... thanks again. You show great music appreciation !!

This album is also noted for a price hike of 6 dollars to 7. Caused a lot of backlash

Nice channel and awesome reactions. If I could have you react to any Elton songs (besides Rocket Man of course), might I suggest 3 veritable Elton MASTERPIECES: "Indian Sunset" from Madman Across The Water - an orchestral gem, "Ticking" from Caribou - incredible lyrics, story and piano, and "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" from Don't Shoot Me...

Benny and the Jets is loosely based on the musical West Side Story a play written by Steven Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein The two gangs in the play are the Sharks and the Jets Silas if you have the chance listen to the West Side Story soundtrack and watch the movie with your gf

West Side Story was in turn inspired by Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet.

Been listening to this album for 50 years, my Fav. song on this Album is *I've seen that movie too* I think this album has hits and misses, for me, a guy who has every album up until like 2004 or so, his two best albums are 1.) Tumbleweed Connection and 2. Madman Across the Waters. This is probably his 3rd best album.

This is a Gen Z story, but shows my childhood some too. The first time I ever recall hearing Benny and The Jets was when I was watching 27 Dresses (a very mom movie),but very good. Since then, it has been a playlist song and good memory I have with my mom 🤍 I always thought he said “electric boobs” not “electric boots” haha

Just genius stuff from Sir Elton (his oldest stuff is my favorite).... Norma Jean went to college in the San Fernando Valley at Valley College. Such a shame that she was so alone and lost in the big bad world. Honkey Tonk Chateau / Capt. Fantastic

I actually got the sheet music for Bennie & the Jets in the summer of '74 in Arkansas of all places! lol. Spent the next year trying to learn it. The opening chords are actually pretty wide. taking up about a full octave. My hands could barely reach them.. Not sure why Elton wrote it that way because his hands aren't all that large either. Regardless. Bennie and the Jets is a killer wierd-ass song1
