- Citizen watches are definitely among my favorites, especially when it come to dive watches. This is a review of the Promaster BN0191-55L an ISO certified 200M WR dive watch with stainless steel bracelet that looks amazing! How does it rate for the money and should we add this one to our collection?

Ive had this watch for a few years and traveled all over with it and its held up perfect.
Absolutely LOVE the lume on this watch… half the time when I pass by it in the middle of the night it’s still bright enough to tell what time it is. Don’t understand it, but love it!
A non watchfam friend of mine asked me my opinion on this watch that he is planning to buy. Glad to have found your video! Awesome review! Will recommend and send him this vid too! You’re absolutely right - Casio/Citizen/Seiko - the Japanese triumvirate is hard to beat!
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Hey i own this ecaxt watch and just wanted to thank you for this video
citizen make some superb dive tools :)
Citizen is hard to beat for the money, thanks for watching!
I’m definitely I’m adding this citizen watch to my collection
Awesome choice for sure! Thanks so much for watching!
I own a titanium promaster with orange dial, same movement as this one in the video. Excellent accuracy, it loses no more than a second per month if worn daily and getting enough light.
Very helpful for the bracelet
Thanks for tuning in!
I've got this in black PVD w black rubber strap & an ice white dial (BN0197) and is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). It may be my most comfortable diver. Basically the same watch as you have shown but w different color way. Nice review👍
Awesome, thanks so much for tuning in!
I have the same watch. Amazing value.
Good thing I watched this video before adjusting the links or else I'll lose those bushings. Many thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Or you could do what I did when adjusting my orca. Pull out the pins, of course the bushes will fall out everywhere, spend two hours searching for them.
I'm so glad I watched this video. Dude saved me a massive headache with the bushels.
I'm late to the show, but nice review. Shame they didn't have the clasp from the older model with the 4 o'clock crown, wetsuit adjust, milled etc
Thanks for your feedback and for tuning in!
Nice!!
Thanks for tuning in!
What's the price bro?
Here is a link to current price: amzn.to/47wm9Ng Thanks for watching!
Whats the lug to lug?
22mm
Sorry lug to lug is 48mm
This is called a "dive watch", but where are the dive features; all it has is a rotating bezel. I have a Citizen Promaster Aqualand, which actually HAS several dive features - fast ascent alarm,
depth gauge, water sensor, rotating bezel, deepest depth indicator, band length extension - now THIS is a dive watch, and your BNO191-55L is just for show. Also, I have a Citizen Eco-Drive
Nighthawk, which has been running without any problems for 12 years.
Thanks for your feedback on this and for tuning in!
Requirements for an ISO 6425 "Dive" watch:
Besides water resistance standards to a minimum of 100 m depth rating ISO 6425 also provides minimum requirements for mechanical diver's watches (quartz and digital watches have slightly differing readability requirements) such as:
Equipped with a diving time indicator (e.g. rotating bezel, digital display, or other). This device shall allow the reading of the diving time with a resolution of 1 min or better over at least 60 min.
The presence of clearly distinguishable minute markings on the watch face.
Adequate readability/visibility at 25 cm (9.8 in) in total darkness.
The presence of an indication that the watch is running in total darkness. This is usually indicated by a running second hand with a luminous tip or tail.
Magnetic resistance. This is tested by 3 exposures to a direct current magnetic field of 4,800 A/m. The watch must keep its accuracy to ± 30 seconds/day as measured before the test despite the magnetic field.
Shock resistance. This is tested by two shocks (one on the 9 o'clock side, and one to the crystal and perpendicular to the face). The shock is usually delivered by a hard plastic hammer mounted as a pendulum, so as to deliver a measured amount of energy, specifically, a 3 kg hammer with an impact velocity of 4.43 m/s. The change in rate allowed is ± 60 seconds/day.
Chemical resistance. This is tested by immersion in a 30 g/L NaCl solution for 24 hours to test its rust resistance. This test water solution has a salinity comparable to normal seawater.
Strap/band solidity. This is tested by applying a force of 200 N (45 lbf) to each spring bar (or attaching point) in opposite directions with no damage to the watch or attachment point.
The presence of an End Of Life (EOL) indicator on battery powered watches.
Watches conforming to ISO 6425 are marked with the word DIVER'S to distinguish ISO 6425 conformant diving watches from watches that might not be suitable for actual scuba diving.
This watch is a true ISO 6425 Dive watch and therefore says DIVER's 200M on the dial. Your's has extra features but that doesn't mean this is not a true dive watch.
The Hyper-Aqualand was my first dive watch as a professional diver… got rid of that quickly. Every time I looked up the ascent alarm would go off… 🤣🤣 Was so proud to get that watch… then upgraded to a Suunto Stinger and kept it through my next 3000+ dives.
Grateful now for a super simple ‘diver’. While it says ProMaster… well, maybe not a professional in my view, but it could probably hold up to the abuse 👍🏼
Mineral crystal, pin & collar, no milled clasp? No thanks!
I appreciate your feedback….Thanks for watching!
Never understood the hype behind a milled clasp you can see it 95% of the time lol
HEY!! I'M THE 39th "LIKE"!!!
Much appreciated…Thanks for tuning in!
