I remember doing the EIB course and while I'm in Land Nav I witness a butter bar sitting on his ruck sack talking to himself saying "I can't let them know I'm lost" over and over again lmao I completed the course and earned my EIB, well four hours after I completed the Land Nav portion, they sent 30 people out looking for him, me included, I went back to that spot and the butter bar is still sitting there sleeping this time..I told him to wake up and just act like he twisted his ankle, needless to say, Butter Bar looked out for me after that 😂😂

All my army instructors had the upmost respect for the officers. Of course if you're a 2nd lieutenant who came in that way and didn't do green to gold it may be a little different but, Captains and especially an established ltc is someone not to really mess with.

I think in 2020 forward, there’s so many rules for Drill sergeants/instructors, that they can’t smoke you like they used to be able to in BCT. Getting smoked until you puke, I never heard of something like that when I was in BCT.

Being from the southeast naturally we love our BBQ too, however until I joined the Army and started to travel, I never knew BBQ "beef" brisket was not always finely chopped and or not served with coleslaw until I drove through Texas and made a pit stop for lunch, I was like #1. WTF "where" is my coleslaw? #2. Why is my BBQ beef brisket sandwich not finely chopped up on my sandwich? And #3. Where is my sweet ice tea? To which I was promptly informed coleslaw in Texas is a side dish and as far as sweet tea goes the sugar is on the table. I still remember looking at my so called "giant bbq sandwich" with dismay, I looked at the waitress and stated "you call this a giant sandwich? I heard everything in Texas was huge" so I found out the price was high, but the sandwich where I stopped at was not. Anywho, moving on, I got 2 tours of the land of the morning calm and I never got use to our Katusa's eating kimchi in the DFAC for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or for that matter to the early morning runs where our Katusa's and some Americans sweated the Kimchi and the Soju out or got sick while on the runs, haha good times.

Just a twist, but you could have included a Warrant Officer in your talk to discuss both sides of the street. One who was enlisted and now is an officer. Just a thought.
I'm British infantry enlisted and we mainly get a laugh out of our officers because they're posh
