    The 65 in your tire size means the sidewall is 65% as tall as your tire is wide. The 235’s will be both wider and taller

    I've put these on my 2018 Pathfinder 4WD 2 years ago, 27,000 miles. The OEM Toyo Open County that came on it only lasted 30K miles... I live in upstate SC & we get some snow in the winter, & I drove them in 6 inches of snow & never slipped or loss traction. They are smooth & quiet at 70mph freeway driving also.. These are great tires for a crossover/ SUV..

    I do have these EXACT tire, size and all. No lift. I am satisfied but not impressed. After about a year, but like 25,000-30,00 miles I’m already needing a new set. Tread did not last. They were great at first in rain, but now hydroplane A LOT! Main reason I’m replacing so soon because as a storm chaser tires are critical to be the best.

  • @wrigman
    @wrigman Před 10 měsíci +3

    Have the exact same tire size on my 2021 Crosstrek sport. Anyone wanting to get rid of the true junky Yokies that come stock on the car will be impressed with these tires. They do well in snow(I live in northern Idaho) wet pavement, loose trail DG, and dry pavement.
    I lost about One mile per gallon and have not noticed any increased road noise over stock tires. Subaru should consider these tires for stock tires……..

    Beach driving experience with 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i w/ CVT in Gearhart, Oregon is hard pack sand is doable, soft pack sand is doable, and in between sand is doable. Yokohama Geolander G91 did well normal inflation rate, BFGoodwich KO2 did well normal inflation rate, and Cooper Discovery AT3 4S did well normal inflation. The Subaru awd system is confidence boosting, but the driver must exercise objective logic when playing around off trail. The awd system is a bit tough to utilize in an advantageous way when stuck in slush surrounded by ice, being stuck in a levy with much snow/ice, going up certain hill angles accompanied by unpaved road, and doesn’t like snow chains on ice roads(pulled a Tony hawk worthy spin once with those on some Ko2s).

    When I had my Forester about the only thing I could rely on where the tires. I have the 2014 Subaru Forester XT model and I had so many mechanical problems that I had to get rid of the vehicle. Pretty much after the last year I had it I had spent $6,000 to keep it on the road and when one thing broke something else would creep up and give me the middle finger.
    But overall I did like the tires since I traveled from Houston to Colorado all the time and they were perfect in snow.

    On my SJ, I have a 235/70/16 which is 29" tall tire. I run them on a 16x7 +35 wheel and they fit on stock suspension. However, if you go any bigger than a 29" tire in overall diameter, your rears will rub in a very bad way. the 235/65/17 will be the biggest tire you can run without issue assuming your wheel offset isnt too wacky.

      I have 225/65R17 Ko2 on my stock ‘15 Foz 2.5i CVT. It really revealed the lack of tolerance the OEM wheel bearings has for heavier tires as all the wheel bearings were slowly being tapped out and covered by extended warranty (literally worth its weight in gold). Is this a shared experience with your setup? Do you know of any company that produces stronger wheel bearings?

    I saw your video where you had the Nitto Nomad Grapplers, how do the Wildpeak AT Trail's compare to those? Would you prefer one over the other? My main concern is tread life expectancy and actually on-road performance more than anything in the snow, slush, and I don't do anything too aggressive offroad in my Forester but I do occasionally go on some forest service roads.

    You might want to reconsider going to a wider tire, which will add weight, and have less traction weight on the ground patch. Narrower tires are better for general overland use, which seems to be most of your driving. Check out the videos on running pizza cutter tires for overland driving.
