    Liked the tactical analysis, but disagree with the conclusion. I don’t think it was a scrappy match but rather a high intensity match in which both teams forced the rivals’ errors with exhaustive and organized pressing. I also liked the fact that both teams were brave and wanted to play the ball from the back, although it eventually led to valuable occasions for the rival team.

      it was kinda scrappy if u ask me.Dortmund played in this 4231,442 diamond hybrid,so every time Bayern tried to play through the middle,Dortmund would win it back but due to non availability of immediate wide options,they would kinda lose the ball quickly as well

    • @evilestmanlp
      @evilestmanlp Před 2 lety +5

      From a purist tactical view, it was a scrappy match. I struggled to decipher Dortmund’s shape, it changed so much. Multiple situations where the 4 FCB defenders were all on the same Dortmund player…
      From a normal viewer POV, it was entertaining game.
      This goes to prove the point about PL being the most entertaining, but not necessarily the « best football » : if your defenders keep stupidly clearing the ball without even trying to keep possession and circulate the ball, you’re giving your opponent the chance to do a comeback on you !
      City is the only team that plays football as it should be played.

    • @FootballMadeSimple
      @FootballMadeSimple  Před 2 lety +22

      That's fair enough, always happy to agree to disagree. I just felt both teams consistently gave the ball away in midfield with sloppy passes even under minimal pressure 😁

  • @robertwill23
    @robertwill23 Před 2 lety

    Both teams are still rusty early in the season so scrappy play was expected, I guess. Although both pressed very intensely so it also contributed to a lot of turnovers and imprecision. I also noticed that it was at times too physical on the verge of dirty. From Dortmund, especially. Which was unusual because both teams had less fouls in BL last year. BVB players were too hyped, I think, which not always good for precision and clear execution. Makeshift defense also didn't help.

    Bellingham seems to have got suckered in for the first two goals so he'll have learned a lot from the game and big mistakes for two goals from a makeshift defence means Dortmund should not be too concerned - with players to come back into the defence they still look the strongest of Bayern's challengers this season - particularly if Leipziig lose Sabitzer to Bayern... they need another midfielder now Martinez & Alaba have gone.
