I literally had a mental breakdown because of yelling and my heart will drop and I’ll get scared immediately when someone raises this voice- this is very comforting so Thankyou yami!🥺
My parents weren't abusive, but one of them had serious anger issues, and because of that I break down at even the smallest of confrontations and will do basically anything to keep people happy so they don't get angry, at me or anyone else. I'm also quite anxious because of the unpredictability of that parent. But with the help of a counselor and the support of friends, I'm steadily retraining my brain into healthy thought processes.

Mindfulness is the root of healing from this kind of trauma memory. I’m finally at a point where I don’t flinch when a man yells near me, but if he’s yelling at my kid for no reason I can get in his face and tell him off….. then have a quiet panic attack after he leaves….. my trauma memories are multi levels of years of abusive relationships but my most abusive relationship was with myself. All those people programed trigger buttons that I would push because like a bruise I just had to keep push on it. But I have worked on turning off those buttons and if they turn on during a hard time then I can sit with the emotions and then let them go….
Everyone has their own pains and memories that scar them. Things that stick with them forever and it can be hard to get through it. Somedays it's hard to get up and keep going. Try to stay strong and keep going.
Draw~~ and yeah this one was so on time for me. I had a argument with someone i trusted and they made me feel...the way being around my mother when shes angry feels. Physicalled threatned and made me flinch from them. They havent apologized, even when they know, so this makes me feel alot better 🥺. Gracias Yami

I flinch when someone yells, bangs on something because I grew up like that. I get so scared that one day things will get violent and I’ll end up getting hurt, that’s why I kinda avoid pda with a significant other, I’m not used to those things plus also being afraid of being left alone it’s so hard for me being in a relationship.
