    Week 19 of Pregnancy đŸ€° 19 weeks pregnant, 19 week pregnancy, week 19 pregnancy, 19th week of pregnancy
    Can baby recognize your voice yet? Plus a slew of natural pain remedies. And to ultrasound or not to ultrasound? That is the question.
    Baby at 19 Weeks Pregnant đŸšŒ 19 weeks baby in womb, baby at 19 weeks in womb, 19 weeks pregnant inside the womb, 19 weeks pregnant baby position, 19 weeks pregnant baby moving
    Have you started talking to your baby yet? Because, well, he's listening! As early as 16 weeks, babies in utero can pick up sounds, and eventually, distinguish voices.
    In a study by researchers at Columbia University, one-day-old newborns were given pacifiers connected to tape recorders; based on the babies’ sucking pattern, the pacis turned on either a tape of mama speaking or the voice of a stranger. Within 10 to 20 minutes, the babies began to adjust their sucking rate, indicating a clear preference for mama’s soothing tone.
    I'll never forget when I first met my son Griffin and said hello, he promptly turned his head and looked at me. (As if to say, "Hey, I know you!")
    Many of us imagine the womb as a quiet sanctuary where baby is isolated from the outside world. But the reality is quite different! Baby is hearing your heartbeat, your stomach growls, your digestion (oh my!)... even your lungs filling up with air.
    So don’t feel weird about talking, singing, or reading directly to your stomach. In fact, I encourage you to. You can even get your partner involved and have him/her tell a sweet bedtime story to your little bambino each night.
    You at 19 Weeks Pregnant đŸšș
    With baby being the size of about a mango right now, you can imagine that your uterus is getting quite large! All of this growth can really S-T-R-E-T-C-H the supporting muscles, ligaments, and structures of your body... and you may be feeling it. Literally.
    For some mamas, it will manifest as sciatica, or lower back pain and inflammation. For others, it may be round ligament pain, which feels like a sharp shooting pain down your groin. Or, if you feel that shooting pain vaginally, you may have lightning crotch (yes, this is a thing).
    All those conditions are totally normal (and totally uncomfortable).
    So what's a mama to do? Here are some ideas.
    Start with some targeted pelvic exercises
    Try taking a warm Epsom salt bath a few times a week
    Icing the lower back helps ease the pain for some mamas
    Keep your muscles warm and limber by staying active each day
    If none of the that helps, it might be time to see a chiropractor. Seek out a chiro who's trained in the Webster technique. (You don't want the typical “snap, crackle, pop” adjustment when you're preggers.)
    Even if you aren't having significant back pain, regular chiropractic care from a trained professional can help keep your pelvis balanced and open, not only reducing pain but perhaps helping your baby maintain a good position for birth. WOOT!
    Ultrasounds 💡
    To ultrasound or not to ultrasound? That is the question.
    For most pregnant mamas, ultrasounds are just a given. Of course I’ll get ultrasounds!
    But there are actually some slight risks when it comes to ultrasounds. And studies haven’t shown any improvement in fetal outcomes when diagnostic ultrasounds are used.
    Hmmm.
    If you’re anything like me, you might want at least one baby ultrasound throughout your pregnancy to check for baby’s anatomy and make sure everything is OK.
    I believe there is a sort of “middle way” with ultrasounds that will let you gain any possible benefits while minimizing any potential downsides.
    Week 19 To-Dos ✅
    Set up a lunch date with a friend who has a young child. Ask her everything you’ve ever wanted to know. :)
    Plan something to celebrate the halfway point in your pregnancy next week! Spa day for you? Date night out? Special night in? You choose!

    Hi, I am a doctor and am 18 weeks pregnant. I have been following all your week by week videos and have really enjoyed them. I just wanted to add that it is better to get an ultrasound around week 19 which is more than sufficient to see all vital organs and will also help to act timely in case of any abnormality. Week 22 might be a bit late for that. Ultrasound is not harmful for the babies so no worries there. Thanks for the great content.

I felt a little nervous about this pregnancy after a recent miscarriage so the early ultrasound at around 12 weeks was just to put my mind at ease about his development. I'm not sure it's correct to say that the ultrasound does not improve outcomes. Coming from a high-risk pregnancy where my cervical length has been identified as short, this has guided the commencement of progesterone to reduce the risk of pre-term labor. Vasa previa is a common and very important finding to prevent haemorrhage at birth. Many cardiac defects are picked up at the 19-21 week morphology that can guide neonatal management and concealing. I'd be very interested to read the articles you have referred to in the video, are you able to provide a link to these? Thanks

      Everyone feels their baby differently and around different times, even from pregnancy to pregnancy. You may have a less active baby this time, or you may have an anterior placenta, which can "muffle" feeling the baby move. You should start to notice more movement in the next few weeks!

      You may have round ligament pains which can be fairly severe for some people. If you’re concerned though you may need to mention it to your doctor asap to rule out something more serious going on!

    19weeks of pregnancy but I have a posterior placenta grade 0 what does this mean ?

    • @mamanatural
      @mamanatural  Pƙed 2 lety

      That's a great question for your provider! But a posterior placenta is normal and means that your placenta is implanted on the back of your uterus.

    • @kaiking5710
      @kaiking5710 Pƙed 2 lety

      ive also got a posterior placenta too and its good because you will feel babys movements alot more than you would if you had an anterior placenta because posterior placenta is implanted on the back wall of the uterus so theres nothing blocking the babys movements. anterior blocks most baby movements and might not feel them as much or as early as you would with a posterior

    Ok, so now I’m super upset! I’ve been stressing and on the verge of tears about the ultrasound. I’ve had three in the first trimester- with no complications or anything, just a healthy pregnancy. But now I’m all upset that I’ve messed my baby up with the ultrasounds. No doctor tells you there’s any risk or that you have a choice in getting one or not. Wtf. I’m 19wks pregnant and hearing this now has just really freaked me out and upset! I’ve got to great lengths to eat organic, drink only clean water (no fluoride etc), avoid touching plastic or eating anything that’s come in contact with plastic. We sleep on a organic bed have no furniture that would off gas anything, only wear naturally materials and use all natural products. Amd have lived like this for years. And now I’m like was it for nothing? Was this the biggest mistake I could of made was just doing what the doctor told me not knowing any harm would come? Now all I can do I worry if I’ve fucked her up with the ultrasounds.

    • @mamanatural
      @mamanatural  Pƙed 2 lety

      Please try not to worry! This video is just a discussion about possible risks so that mamas can make informed decisions. There are PLENTY of mamas who have chosen lots of ultrasounds who go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies ♄

    What about an at home Doppler is it possible to overuse it or cause harm?

    • @mamanatural
      @mamanatural  Pƙed 2 lety

      We do not recommend at home Doppler because they are not usually medically regulated AND if you’re not a professional you may not know what to look/listen for. And yes, there could be risks due to overuse.

      I hope your baby is doing fine and is healthy. I may be projecting my fears here but please reconsider having at least the 22 week anomaly scan...I'm not trying to scare you but I wanted to wait but ended up going to do my scan 3 days ago and found my baby boy has a large congenital heart defect known as VSD. So now I have a little time to plan early medical intervention and give him the best chance at survival because my country don't perform the surgery I'm using the time to research and raise funds to help him. That may not be your case but I think it's best to be certain. Again, I wish you and your little bundle of joy all the best.
