I love your comment about big families. We're 20 weeks with our 6th and the big siblings are all so excited for another baby brother and they are so helpful when baby comes! We only do one mid pregnancy quick sneak peak of baby to check the location of the placenta and to see the gender, but no full anatomy scan any longer. I found the anatomy scan almost always found something that I had to have checked again and worried about needlessly, so we've only done a very quick check for the last couple babies. Looking forward to another beautiful homebirth this summer!

I had two ultrasounds with each of my first two babies, and after doing more research, I have declined all ultrasounds and pretty much all testing for my next three babies. All babies were born healthy and I actually have more peace of mind, having a more hands off pregnancy and trusting that my body knows what do to. 🥰

Well there is a serious study done on mice and 30mins of exposure caused their nerve cells wall to open up. There are definite associations of prolonged exposure and neurodiversity issues. The American Association of Ultr recommends prudent use especially during gestation.

I had my anatomy ultrasound at 19 weeks but I am high risk so the high-risk doctor wants check her heart when she is bigger I will be 23 weeks then.
It will be fun to see your growing babe again that soon!
I am so heartbroken... I was pushed to get an ultrasound (by my Dr sister and family member PA) while I'm just at a mere 5 weeks. It didn't feel right. I have so much remorse...What was I thinking? I know I want to go through a midwife. I also thought that all I was going to do was a urine test to truly confirm. That was not the case. Thank you for your videos and your book...
I’m not a professional but I am also 16 weeks pregnant, I had a miscarriage a few years back at 11 weeks and I always felt so empty because I never had an ultrasound or anything physical left, with this pregnancy I got my first ultrasound at 6 weeks and it just made me feel safer knowing that my baby’s heart is beating and we were able to see that the baby is actually where is supposed to be since my miscarriage baby was growing outside the uterus. Getting that early US is not a terrible thing for your pregnancy, Mama. You did the best you knew to do, and it is very likely that it will have no impact on your overall pregnancy. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is wonderful!! Thank you for watching and for reading our content
