Well, the OP says there's no way he misread the situation. And if that's true he has made a terrible mistake. Either he's been cohabitating with a crazy woman and has not realized it yet. Or he's cohabitating with a perfectly normal woman that he has driven mad.
Either way, they should break up.
Weird how OP keeps saying 'his house' as if it's not also her house. It might have been only his house before they started living together but once that line crosses, it becomes 'our house'. Especially if she helps with house payments in any way.
I always say it's a better idea to find a new place together so that the place can be 'ours' from the very beginning rather than one person being left feeling like their space is being taken over.
Outside of that, OP's feelings on the steaks are completely valid and understandable.
