I'm a 26 years old HEMA instructor and sword performer from Poland. I've been fencing since I was 12, evolving through sport fencing, polish saber, kenjutsu, to finally settle on renaissance german longsword (go Team Meyer!).
I do blacksmithing for a living. Feel free to review my crafts at:
www.audentia.eu
Now go throw some cuts! - Sport
Notice the consistent and precise edge alignment in the demonstration, impressive stuff.
The aerodynamics of the blade helps with edge alignment. You wouldn't be able to do it with a straight blade.
Of course you would, longsword cuts in Meyer work the same way. Aerodynamics do have a minor impact on this, but nowhere near as much as the grip and general cutting technique.
One doesn't even have to turn the edge on a straight blade when changing direction rapidly. Just saying. Feels odd and may not generate as much power but it can still be done.
I was also impressed by that edhe alignment though. Something you won't see a lot when people don't also do cutting or shadow fencing.
Perhaps I should add "Not as easily".
But can you teach us how to teleport?
Sadly, teleportation is hereditary :(
Paweł Andonis Gawralidis Dobrzański herbu Leliwa. Only if you make a deal with a genie known as Gaunter O' Dimm. However, I wouldn't recommend it as it will likely damage your life severely in the end.
@@MyPokebros use chessy exploit like Zariael
Man I'm still confused when it comes to polish sabre. On the one side Sieniawski & Sons have beautiful presentation, but in the same time they have shown very little of sources they use. Moreover their interpretation is contradictory to sources I know.
On the other hand there is Jurek Miklaszewski who shares most of the sources he uses, yet I have doubts when it comes to his trining methods(maybe this doubts are unfunded?) and I feel like Jurek lacks proper critical approach when it comes to certain sources(again, personal opinion).
Finally there is Richard Marsden who has clearly superior HEMA experience, good training methods and he treats sources with proper criticism. Yet, he is a bit too conservative and he didn't use all sources available which definitely affected his interpretation.
Damn it is hard to find satisfactory interpretation of polish sabre...
P.S. Oglądałeś mecz?
Perfect as usual, Alan. When I experinced this fight for the first time, my first thought was 'It'd be damn fine if Haart commented on this one' and here it comes! I am patienly waitning for more :) And I'd like to say, love the way that video is designed to bring resemblance to withcer's 'story time' scenes :) Great job.
Assassin's Creed involves swords, too. It may not be as beautiful as that in Witcher Series. But it seems counterattack in Assassin's Creed is way more efficient than that in Witcher Series. Maybe you can shoot some videos about swords skills in Assassin's Creed 2.
We met with Jerzy a week ago at a two-handed swords seminar in Moscow. He's so cool and agile. Now I want to buy some nice curved sabers to try more typical Polish fencing
It seems the only major difference I could see in the game was that Olgeird raised his left hand as he swung the saber, whereas in the instructional triple cut part it specifically said to keep the left hand low so it doesn't interrupt the swings. Overall it looks very cool either way
You could say Olgierd did it deliberately to obscure Geralt's vision of him a bit and throw the witcher off balance, expecting a grappling technique or something. Or maybe it's just that just because. :D
You know, the guy performing the triple cut and Olgierd are the same person :) Sieniawski was employed by CD Project Red to do motion capture sessions for Olgierd.
Kamil Szadkowski Oh wow! I did not know that, makes sense that it looks so clean
Amazing work, can't wait for the videos to come.
The production quality on this video is amazing. Nicely done.
I am well and truly hyped for this channel. Super exciting stuff!
I'm glad you're making videos again! They're fun and informative!
Lots of love and respect from India......U r friggin GREAT
Top quality video! The editing is out of this world!
Nice new editing
This is gonna be awesome. Really looking forward to this.
I like where this channel is heading.
It's about time!) And thanks for the new video.
Wkońcu jakiś konkretny kanał sub i niech wieczny ogień bd z tobą :)
Really looking forward to this. I love the character of Olgierd and saber vs longsword sounds like it will make for an interesting discussion.
I never realized that this fight was inspired by the one in the film, even though I had watched it before. Can't unsee it now :)
First, i love you sword path
Pozdrawiam
Pozdro Wengiel

Wow, i'm super excited! :D
Nice video! ❤️❤️❤️
Keep up with The Witcher!
Great video and I want more ^^
I think it'd be better if you slowed the speed of both videos when comparing with in game footage. It's easier to see the movement that way.
love that new video design
this is fantastic.
Awesome!
Dude, you should publish your research for this video in any historical scientific journal. Such knowledge should be preserved.
The other videos never came u_u
:(
Missed your videos
No bez jaj, przecież nawet dialogi są te same. Jakim cudem się nie połapałeś?
Kamil Szadkowski może on wybrał wersję bez pojedynku?
Ayyyy 52 minutes ago?? Getting my sword now.
More videos please !!!
,,Kończ Waść wstydu oszczędź " ahhh the best scene i Potop/The Deluge :D
I hope the next episode is still in the pipeline!
Great video, thank you!
Can you please share the source of the background music?
The Sword's Path Best pronunciation of word "Kılıç" all of youtube :)
But I turn it into sabre vs sabre duel by using the Ofieri saber. Haha
How did you make the blood/ink type animations?
Can you just show us how to do the teleportation?
Finally
YES MORE SLICING AND CHOPPING
I love this channel
So are these episodes still happening?
Why can’t I find the fighting moves design ,olgierd’s animation capture video no more ?
Hello !
I really like your videos they are funny and very intuitive. I've been watching HEMA related content and I am really starting to like it.I was wondering how much would it cost and what equipment should a beginner get.
Keep up the good work.
ydg dgnbydfgn While it is not exactly a perfect replication of HEMA or swordsmanship in general, it doesn't hurt much to start off lightly with sturdy foam swords (not the cheap kiddy ones where they flop around with little structure. Ones where they have a strong plastic rod in the middle with it covered by padding). Unless if they hit a nerve, they inflict little harm aside from the initial impact and thus don't require armor to avoid getting hurt (unless if you want protection for your sensitive nerves if your sparring partner is not being careful).
That's a pretty good suggestion. Foam wasters can be a lot of fun, and are a great tool for learning the basics of distance and timing!
Thank you both very much. Now the only thing is to get one and find a HEMA school near me :D
I live in Bosnia so I am not exactly sure that there is a HEMA school I think the closest is in Slovenia.
Could you recommend some books that cover the basic techniques ? That would be the second best thing if there isn't a school here.
You should check the prince of persia 2008 sword fighting style, pretty useless but pretty cool too
teach us how to stop time like Gaunter O'Dimm
make a videos about the souls-borne series alan. :)
CD project red did so well using sword techniques by non witchers
Is Olgierds Sword "Iris" a Kilidsch or a Sabre?
His neck is open his hand is open to an can have a nice cleave from the right side an upper block an then hit to the neck an is of don't forget his sword is a slashing cutting weapon not piercing weapon
But why not keep the left hand on the back?
Hey,man...could you please recommend me a good movie that has to do with swordfighting and such? I know this question is sort of childish but I'd love to get a recommendation from you :D (btw...i love your videos hehe)
try Captain Alatriste!
Alright :D Thank you a lot
Yes! One of the finest!
I FUCKING LOVE YOU
NO HOMO
SHIT I LOVE SWORDS
2:04 - 2:10 please tell me that has been sped up...

i think without a shield the kilic wielder will lose easily.
Good choice for a topic! Oszczędziłeś wstydu!
man you really oughta fix your mic, you sound muffled 60% of the time
