I loved my old TW, like Muck said you never forget what looking down the bonnet of one looks like, for me it was the character of driving the tractor, technique of changing gears, being obsessed with getting them right, the noise, the rattling all the bouncing around, after you spent 18 hours driving and your trying to get to sleep in bed and you can't because your head and ears are buzzing from all the noise an vibration you had to put up with all day. You either love it or you hate it, and I f#$%~ng loves it!!!! Old before new all the way, every day.

One of the reasons why I like watching your videos is that you tell it like it is. You say the good points of the machine but you also tell the parts that don't work so good. Also, you explain why they built the machine a certain way at the time it was built. Thanks for sharing another great video.

I haven't spent any time around a tw25. But my grandfather had a 7710 of that era. And my dad got it after he passed. I spent many hours riding on the toolbox as a kid and spent many hours driving it as I got older. I certainly miss it. Nice old tractor.

Always had a soft spot for a TW10 but I'm more than happy with my International 956 a tractor I've dreamed of since wearing terrys nappies! I never drove one until I bought one and I've never been disappointed with it, took me a while getting one but good thing's comes to those who wait love it!🙄

My name is Rhys, i'm 16 from Newport south wales. i work on a farm when im not in school and i get the amazing opportunity to operate a New Holland t6.155 remapped to 185 horse and a case puma 150 around about 200 horse from factory. I personally believe that they both have their pros and cons, the t6 is good for some jobs and the puma is good for others jobs i know there is a horse power difference but i still think that they have there own jobs and again it down you personal preference as you mentioned in the video. anyway great video yet again cant wait for the next one thanks guys :) Rhys

Really interesting seeing the TW-25 neked! Amazing how similar all Fords are, if you strip off the cab, fuel tank air filters etc you'd have a little skid unit underneath. When I got promoted from driving a 6600 to a 7710 as a kid thought I was getting a massive machine. But soon realised it was really just the same with a high up cab and big tank sitting on top of the engine (and a turbo)!!

blue feels like front visibility better not having the info on pillar. On red found it made a blind spot on roundabouts. Front suspension on both doesnt do much unless youve got weight on. Both have very comfortable seat everything positioned where you need it on arm rest, both got nice passenger seat keeps the wife happy lol. Both lack cab storage compared to the likes of deeres r series. Power shift boxes on both are equal, vario boxes in red probably better. Exhaust break good feature on red. But as i said earlier cant split them would be happy to spend 12 hrs on either with no fuss

Reason I love the tw’s is the shear power and brute force of the things put one of these on nearly any plow you can find it’ll pull it or have a bloody good go other problem with the fuel tank at the front if brakes fail or some pilocks not looking where they’re going you can end up with diesel every where or a good fire

Hi everyone, sorry to burst your bubble, and not that my opinion is worth any more than the next chap...............but:
Fords back in the 80's were one up from a traction engine, smoked, gearbox felt like a bag of rocks, gutless, ergonomics designed by Stevie Wonder, noisy. Imagine the board meeting where someone presented the final design where emptying the cab filter simply deposited most of the dust on your seat, a split rear window which when folded collected dust, and the worst for me, the leveling arm adjuster, perfectly placed to smack your elbow on! To make matters worse, and not specific to Fords, we were forced to listed to Steve Wright all afternoon. I retired from farming in 1995, but the frustrations run deep, I could go on.
    Cheers

It’s funny how much your preferences as a child affects what you like now. Although my Britain’s tractors were Ford, Massey and JCB, I always yearned for a John Deere. Probably because that’s what the local farmers used. Either way it rubbed off on me and my preference is John Deere now. It’s embarrassing to admit but I think I’m gonna buy a Britain’s John Deere model just to complete that child ion want even though I’m now in my 20’s 😂

I ran a puma when they first came out and I would have taken a good team of mules instead and shot the mules. Maybe the new ones are better, can't speak for the blue version.

The 3 Wise Monkeys it was a 2009 165 puma powershift model and I found it was very rough shifting compared to the 7120 magnum that it replaced. The cab suspension made for a very rough ride in the seat, it was fine for road travel but in a rough field it would bounce you right out of the seat. It had the manual levers for scv control that worked fine but the joystick to run the loader was slow to respond and very awkward to operate, of course this was nearly ten years ago and the Pumas were fairly new on the market here in Canada at that time so I'm sure they improved them since then.

Hmmmm.... that makes sense especially going from a Magnum. Thanks for the info !

What is the difference between a tw25Q and the tw25

Few bits in the cab, couple of options and later on a digital dash.

It would have to be against a 30 Series as the TW's were before the Magnums.

Why not put a bracket and suitcase weights on the front if the weight is needed? That's what we do over on the other side of the pond lol

A lot of folks did (including me) but because of the extra length they were awkward when pulling on to roads and also a lot suffered from excess wear on the front axle.

Anyone that thinks a straight pipe is good on one of these has obviously never spent enough time driving one ! They’re bad enough with a silencer...
Constant mesh box was good in its day.
