I love these "low effort" videos that you do when wrapping up a daily series. Some information, some problem solving, and a whole lot of just having fun. A great end to the year.
all of them are low@@biggestthreattoyourexistence
the hinge doesnt have to be on the upright, you can bolt them on the horizontal piece, slide the left and right monitor outward to get more angle on them and put the bbolt back in
100% this! It would also be wise to search for the FoV calculator, input your screen dimensions and distance from screen and that will give you your ideal side screens angle and in-game FoV values.
Yes please do this, it is doing my head in looking at the way you have those monitors setup, also they are way to high.
Those corner brackets aren’t needed either. Can be mounted directly to the horizontal piece the same way the side monitor arms are mounted to the angle bracket.
The problem starts with the horizontal piece which should’ve been mounted on the front face of the upright and then mount the hinge directly onto the horizontal piece
I'm starting to think they maybe possibly, quite by chance... Didn't read the instructions!.. lol
Nvidia Surround is not required.. If you're going to be using Assetto Corsa, you'd be better off getting Content Manager.. Which is a rabbit hole in itself but makes modding the game a lot easier and features triple screen setup in its display options.
Love how I was going to say something about Content Manager but looks like someone beat me to it 😂
i started using assetto corsa in vr just a month ago and coming from flight sims, content manager is GREAT and self axplanatory tbh, wish we had something for MSFS too
def a rabbit hole.. and i love it.
@@psychotictwitch Anyone who starts playing AC needs to be told about it asap.. Should be bundled with the game now tbph!
Beat me too it lol I haven't seen the og assetto screen in years it made me cringe
The gap between displays is from those extra spacers you put in - the center monitor is farther "out in front" than the frame was designed for it to be.
He also said that the arms suck out the sides because they support larger monitors. So larger monitors might touch at the middle with the arms anchored properly. A hacksaw would also trim those edges if they really annoy you.
So I have the same rig, It's actually because they mounted the arms to the uprights. That's what the instructions say to do but is only necessary for the largest possible screen size. If you pause at 6.24 you will see what I mean. The outermost two bolts are on the vertical member of the stand which prevents you from changing how far apart they are.
If you can't move the arms in and out there is only one angle that works for each size of monitor and you might have to take out the inner bolts like they did.
Its great to see someone with such a passionate following bringing more attention to our wierd hobby 😁
Dave cam is in the house. Happy New years mate
Hi Dave!
@@mrpurple1901 happy new year mate 😁
@@adhdturtle37 hey 😁
Late Happy New Years, Dave! It's nice to see other creators I follow around and about. :)
Nice to see the sim racing content! You may want to take another look at your monitor mounting options. You are absolutely right in that the TK monitor mount was made with curved and larger format monitors in mind. In reality you need something a bit smaller as there are a few issues with your config.
One issue is your monitor angles are very shallow. Typically you want approximately 60° with 32” monitors. Getting this angle right will significantly improve FOV and immersion. The second issue that goes along with getting the angle right is to get the monitors closer to your eyes. The closer you get the monitors the better the immersion and the more natural your view will be.
Looking at you driving, the wheel is too far away. You want your elbows to be bent at approximately a 45° angle for proper control and to help prevent shoulder injury over time. Moving the wheel deck closer will allow you to get the monitors closer as well.
Just a few tips. No need to take my word for it. Take a look at the major sim racing CZcamsrs setups. Check out Dave Cam, Dan Suzuki, Basic Ollie, and Boosted Media and really look at their setup ergonomics and where the monitors are positioned.
Hope you guys enjoy the rig! You’re rocking some awesome hardware.
Agreed, FOV, calibrated FFB and driving position would help a ton. Dan Suzuki has some great content.
Get Content Manager!! So much to be explored on there.
Love that Jay actually adjusted the brake correctly. Single most overlooked improvement is pedal deadzone and curve. So much to be quickly gained there
Is it too late to suggest right angle DP adapters to help the cable fit? Love the shenanigans with angle grinding the plate.
The moment I saw that, I looked on Amazon and found them.. lol
I bought 3 32" LG monitors on Black Friday just like jay and had the EXACT same issue as Jay, I tried ordering 90 degree adapters, and like Jay, tried spacers, but ultimately came to the conclusion that these "solutions" were not real solutions at all and ultimately decided the real issue was a poor choice of monitor becasue of it design limitations. My solutoon was to exchange the monitors for HP Omen 32" and have been happy ever since.
Is it possible/would it be better to have a much wider center screen? Really thinking about getting a similar setup as you and Jay here but the screen dimensions just look off to me. Would there be an aspect ratio or stretching issue having 2 smaller outer screens but one wider screen in the center?
@@FellowshipOfTheAviatorZ I've seen mention of people with multi monitor setups at different resolutions getting stuttering issues especially when trying to run at higher refresh rates, don't know if that's an old problem or what though
@@FellowshipOfTheAviatorZ I have run 32" with 27" wings with Eyefinity, no sweat. I always buy same resolution. Smaller sides don't bother me because it is mostly for peripheral vision when driving.
You can get angled adapters for dp/hdmi to make it fit.
Sure - but that doesn't make that layout any less stupid.
Was thinking the same thing, right angle adapters or cables. Instead of angle grinding the whole thing haha.
but @MrMartinSchou is also right, pretty BS design from LG. I have a similar problem with my older 22"? Acer 1080p 60hz monitors where the vesa mounts and cables interfere with each other, it was a tight squeeze but I made it work/
yes, but also turn on shiny toy today.... I get jay on this one even though it appears like an overreaction.
yeah but he's never gonna use those tv mounts
And then wait longer and have the risk of those not being right either. I'd cut em as well. My monitor is mounted straight to the wall. So glad HP mounted the connectors facing down.
Please use content manager and custom shaders patch you will have so much more improved options... And the amount of extras in game using csp apps is a game changer
AC without Content Manager is so wrong
For AC : Contact manger - CSP (the payed version for Rain) - Sol / Pure
For Sim racing devices Wheel for example : Sim Hub
For more immersion while racing : Crew Chief
Also, bezel free kits are totally worth it if running triples! Just if you ever want to add them for both rigs
the nv surround settings page has a bezel correction feature on the right hand side, so that the image looks correct and lines up correctly
Elite dangerous is a good game to play triple screen (Nick and Phil both played that)
Man, Those bracket plates look like they hold some 55"+ T.V's. Would have been a great opportunity for a sponsor vid some on Samsung ARC's. That Setup is def for larger screens.
You need the Simlab Vario Vesa monitor mounts. They’re way more lo-pro and super adjustable. The only way to go for triples.
Those mounts are fantastic though they’re not gonna help since the entire monitor stand is assembled incorrectly. The cross brace goes on the front of the uprights not in between them. The side arm brackets bolt directly to the cross brace not to hanging 90 degree brackets like they did. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time they go into the studio studio those monitors are sitting on the ground in pieces
I had a Jay sighting at Microcenter today! Happy new year! New PC up and running thanks to these videos.
Happy New Year guys! Definitely an awesome setup! If the schedule permits, once you've had some time to dial in the new setup and put it through it's paces, I would actually be very interested in a surround versus VR comparison, though I recognize that's going to vary wildly game to game.
Some game ideas for the new setup, though you will want a flight stick/HOTAS for most of these:
Flight sims - MS Flight Sim (any version), DCS World, IL2 Sturmovik, Ace Combat
Space sims - Star Wars Squadrons, Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, No Man's Sky
Other - Mechwarrior 5 or MechWarrior Online (not sure if either support NV surround), Farming Simulator (don't knock it till you try it, it's fun and chill), Snowrunner (the most infuriating relaxing game you'll ever play), World of Warships (Not a joke, I actually wonder how it would play in surround if it works with it), and of course Battlefield 4 (you know you want an excuse to blow the dust off of it, Jay!)
I know I like your thinking here. I have the Flight Stick/HOTAS combo, which I bought for MSFS, DCS, and all Mechwarrior. I am curious to see the others, as I suggested last video for things like the Farming Sim, different construction sims, etc. I have to check out Snowrunner. Jay playing Battlefield 4 on this would be interesting too.
I just got these same monitors for my advanced simracing rig coming shortly. Glad yall used the same ones!
you guys are freaking awesome! Happy New Year!!!
Great video guys! Welcome to the fun & pain of using a triple monitor setup. Simlab actually sells a Vesa Adapter kit to help with fine tuning the alignment of the monitors. I use it on my triples sim racing setup. Also, you need to set "Triple Screen" in the Video/Display option of Assetto Corsa so the left and right monitor can correctly reproject the images. This will eliminate the stretched image distortion. There a ton of instructional videos that explain in more detail.
The biggest fix to combating the "stretch" fish eye effect is to up the FOV or Field of View.
That is what I do for most of the games in 3 screens to make it look well, biggest problem is where UI elements ends up on the outer monitors.
A properly setup FOV is important, but some sims like Assetto Corsa, that they´re driving here, go a step further. They let you input the exact angle and distance of your screens and then the game gets rendered for each screen seperately, instead of one big picture that is being stretched over 3 screens. It really makes a big difference@@CMDRSweeper
I want to see Phil's reaction when he finds out what they did to make the hdmi cable fit :)
I love that you document every aggravation I would go through. Seriously makes me more humble and realize everyone goes through that....
happy new year guys, thank you for a year of great entertainment and fun. your laughs and sometimes insanity has helped me through some dark times this year, so i really appreciate you
For the triple monitor 32” or under you should choose the 80mm center profile. I did the opposite mistake, i choosed the 80mm instead of the 120mm for triple 42” oled tvs.
Will that stand hold 3 x 50" TVs? Been looking all over for something that will, and this looks like it would work.
@@jeffbaker4219 1200mm will go up to 47.25”, boostedmedia have 3x65” but i dont know what brand of triple tv free stand he uses.
So excited for you to have a triple screen setup. I've not long just set mine up.
Cant wait for you to do some benchmarks with triple screens. Much needed in the sim racing community 😁
damn gurl, ive had a triple screen set up for years...... ITS NOT A NEW THING.........
@@chloedevereaux1801 what do you want? A medal?
So badass. These guys have so much fun. LOVE it and the setup
Happy New Year guys. That was fun watching the competition for the best lap time and I would have done the same thing with the angle grinder.
Always fun to see people struggle with tripple monitor setup and usage of it :P
It also need more angled. And they could change the stand itself so the horizontal bar is in front of the upright ones. This way they could turn the arms more in and match it with the center monitor. But no idea how it was mentioned in the manual of this stand.
Windows has to be as dumb as possible.
Currently running 3x portrait mode because I benefit more from vertical resolution
Used to get by with a flat-ish crossbar setup.
It sucked and there was no way to level the bar.
A couple yeara ago, traded up to a gas piston triple armature.
Was BETTER, but still not great.
Think ,next monitor setup is going to be a single large format 8K TV.
Easier manage, and fewer QUIRKS. Since Win10 is "meh" for multi-monitor and NVSurround
And Win11 is just totally fucking broken.
@@PhotonHerald i tried NVsurround in the beginning, but all racing sims like ac, acc, rf2, ams2, iracing work perfect without it. So i never went back to use NVS. After a couple of years i sold the triples and use VR only :)
Jay's gonna be real mad when he learns about 90 degree display port adapters
I just commented the same 😂😂😂😂
So funny!
Everyone: Solutions exit.
Jay: Solution exit. Yes.
The rig is coming along nicely. Great choice of sim too!
What a great way to wrap up the year! Happy New Year JTC team! Thank you for another entertaining year. Recommendation: Make whatever you want, I love watching all of your formats of content because I watch more for you being a knowledgeable goofball than any particular type of content.
I would be curious about how Flight Sim would feel on this vs in VR.
Or you can have the best of both worlds and use this with 3D vision like I do but at this point finding the hardware is half the battle.
@@via_negativa61833d Vision? You mean head trackers that turn the screen when you move your head? At that point why not just get a cheap quest 2 or something and not have to setup or troubleshoot when it breaks?
I used to get accused of hacking in war thunder playing across three Titans and three 30" 2560x1600 monitors. When planes thought they were getting the jump on me I'd draw them in flying in one direction, but watching the enemy approach on the far left or right monitor. First person shooters were a pain to play at 7680x1600 when two big vertical bezels in the middle.
@@TheCrazyCanuck420
My biggest problem with multi-monitor setups is getting the monitors nicely aligned to eachother, and bezels... The rig in the video doesn't look like it fixes the bezels issue, but does fix the alignment issue. Might be good enough versus the hassle of a VR setup.
VR will always win because it allows for depth perception and correct world scale.
This is why super ultrawide and VR exists.
VR Yes!!!!
3 monitors show more than super ultrawide.
But super ultrawide is easier to setup.
Happy New Year JTC Team!! I do enjoy the SIM videos if you guys have more you can upload!
Great video Jay and Co. Thanks again for another relaxing video.
It would be nice if windows could still detect the 3 separate monitors for browsing and day to day work after enabling surround
just use windows powertoys and setup zones
Use fences or similar software to have virtual desktops on your virtual monitor ;P
I using surround (3x1 setup) for years.
With 3 monitors and surround on, windows enlarging app window to single monitor size, when drag window into top edge (of desired monitor)
if You clikck "full screen" on app - this will be enlarged into 3 screens.
It is very smart - i never turn off surround option.
When You need gaming only on one monitor - Only need to turn off "full screen mode" in game menu and drag game into top edge of monitor You wanna play.
awesome way to end 2023 Jay. Happy new year to you Phil and Nick!\
Seeing you guys go loose and drive lifted my spirit alot!
Love it ❤
Happy New Years! Keep up the great work, love the content!!!!

Looks sweet, happy new year Jay fam.
happy new year jay
Your monitor angles should be around 55-70ish min/max and your FOV in AC can be adjusted via plugin on your right side monitor while in game so you can fix that horrendous FOV @JayzTwoCents
Great vid. Happy new year!
The was the 1 cent commentary on the wheel adjustment. I love it!
Nice job on the lap time improvement!
Such a good series. Thanks bud
Great end to Techmas. Keep it going Jay, and crew. Favorite tech channel right here. Be safe, and well in the New Year all.
I'm happy to see that monitors I choose to go with, after a lot of research, were choosen to be in this. The monitor arms I went with I didn't have an issue with the cables but glad to see what issue I could have if I want to go with this kind of setup.
Happy New Year Jay / Phil / Nick!
May 2024 gather a lot of views for your channel!
happy new year jay to you and family see you 2024 enjoy !
mint setup bro!! I use one of those monitors too, very nice screen!
Jay, you could use the aluminum frame poking out on each end to mount speakers. Happy New Years!
I think it's not the best Idea, due to the magnets are in those speakers would be to close to the screen. And it might affect the view and colors because of the magnetic field.
Have a happy new year! The last half of the video makes me want to actually set up a sim rig as well, the first half not so much lol
Knew you racing laguna by sound/feel before I visually verified it. Love how tracks are so recognizable by their characteristics
Good work! I struggled with surround, very unstable. I run iracing with native triples instead
I've been running triple curved screen NV for years, amazing for flight sim/shooters as well, all my friends hate that it's near impossible visually to sneak up on me.
I've just started getting back in to sim racing (still entry level g29 setup, will upgrade to moza stuffs in near future) and I'm absolutely loving this content! love to see what others are doing with their setups and learn a thing or two along the way!
As others have mentioned, Content Manager for Assetto Corsa is a must! Such a game changer and makes modding soooo easy.
Anyways, keep up the great work. I look forward to what comes next. Happy new year Jay, Phil and Nick!
Yo , from an ex moza user i am going to offer you advice i never had the benefit of . I have no idea what your budget is and moza looks a viable solution based on value but it WILL! Cost you alot more in the long run if you buy moza .i owned the r5 bundle and the r9 with a gs wheel and srp pedals both were nice setups and felt decent to use but moza have lets say interesting quirks . The bases get excessively hot after a very breif period of driving especially on AC and ACC maybe its the way the ffb is delivered to the base but after one race the base had to be left to cool or the ffb would be cut to control the heat both are not good , the nm values you are sold are quite overstated yes you may get breif monents of the advertised value but not often , now lets deal with moza support, in a word terrible ! I had an issue with the r9 base which had to be sent to their repair center this took 2 months to sort out, they can take weeks at a time to respond to an email conersation (not good for your emotions) i paid shipping for my items return which i was told i would be refunded(i wasnt) was all a horrible experience . The software and firmware updates are intent on killing your equipment every update is a lottery if the base will still function as before ( mine changed one update and i could never enjoy it again from that point it never felt as it did prior to the update) after less than 12 months and spending about 1700£ on the two bundles i sold it all at a loss i got 1050£ back and re invested in the asetek la prima bundle i had to add another 400£ to buy this so now in total i was down 2100£ to get a setup which is vastly superior to the moza setup in quality and feeling . You will end up uograding if you go moza so with all sincerity i will save you that hassle and say go simagic alpha mini or asetek or the new csl dd which is just realeasing. You spend a little more upfront but save yourself money, stress time in the long run . Ive opened the door to you its upto you if you walk through it.
@@bodasafur6078 I appreciate the detailed experience/feedback, definitely something I'll look into more. Budget-wise idk really.. moza became appealing because as you said it seems like pretty good value compared to a lot of the market and I've heard a few good words about their bases. They were also on a real good sale just recently near me but I see now that's finished :') maybe it's a good thing lol. Was mainly interested in the moza R12 with I think it was the rs V2 wheel and still hadn't 100% decided what pedals as I heard mixed reviews about srp and CRP pedals.
Will dive down the rabbit hole again 😂
You are welcome , its worth noting that jay has already swapped from moza to simucube it looks like ,these guys had all moza last time i saw them using it now suddenly not. Its very telling .
@@bodasafur6078 yeah I had noticed that. Though I don't recall him mentioning having any problems with moza (at least in this vid) which also says a little
@@UnknownEntity420 yeah im not saying his stuff broke but either way he felt he needed different/better gear which goes to my point you will want to upgrade sooner or later im trying to suggest through experience its easier to buy wise first time
I'm loving the sim racing content, keep it up Jay!
I just got my sim racing gear this Christmas.
Fanatec DD... love it
Jay, awesome video! Please put some thick tape or smooth down the side you cut from the plate behind the monitors. Someone puts their hand behind to undo the cable will instantly slice their hand open.
Happy New Year guys, nice looking racing setup, but still was janky setting it all up.
I got the same monitors and the vesa mount for my Next Level rig are the same, and I cut the mounts the same as you did 😊
I have triples and abandoned surround. I find running the games in windowed and then using a program called borderless windowed full screen or something like that to put in the resolution and origin corner and apply it to the game. Works way better
It essentially forces full screen windowed but over all 3 monitors
I also used a program to add the triple resolution to one of the monitors. Not to ever actually use it on one monitor but to have it as a selectable resolution option in games settings if it doesn't automatically adapt the resolution to the custom window
You should try the WRC 2023 with the triple monitor setup. Great content alltogether. Thank you!
happy new year you 3
This is AWESOME 👍👍 I recommend Full Surround sound 👍
I’ve never wanted to jump through a screen to help these men so much in my life!!!
Majority of the sim racing wheel uses Simhub to setup the screen and leds, it is also a good all around software to have that can control pretty much any sim racing accessories, i use it to control my DIY bass shakers, DDU, Center console display, rev lights, leds on my wheel and so much.
For playing AC on pc, you gotta have Control Manager which basically gonna be your all in one launcher, along with CSP and Pure/Sol which makes AC 10x better.
Installing mods like cars and tracks are a breeze with it just drag and drop the compressed file and install.
the extra bit of rail sticking out is the perfect place to mount the speakers :)
This is great lol, I’ve literally done the exact same thing! I as well have used nylon spacers and long M4 bolts to mount monitors in a way that wouldn’t absolutely frick the cables. I’ve done the same thing with a large flatscreen tv too actually, to keep the HDMI out of the wall.
great work using the Sim-Lab stuff
Happy New Year! 😊
I have the same monitors with a track racer triple stand.. I'm saying this to help.. hopefully you take it positively fellow enthusiasts! But if you mount the angle bracket for the side monitors on the bar parallel to the ground ( same bar the center monitor is mounted..) you will gain the ability to give your setup the proper angles. It's how mine is mounted. Good looking rig.. and looking forward the sim racing bug biting you more and you guys sharing your journey!! Congrats by the way.
could always shorten the top middle bar to bring in the sides closer to the center panel. Neat video
that one made me a lot of fun to watch :))) kinda need this setup now .))
the wheel is awsome, the pedals are just frkn great ...but i have 3 32inch curded arround, only on ein use :))
That would be the best Christmas gift spending a day doing sim racing with you three.. Would be the best day ever..
Wauw the radius of the monitors is huge! I would want it much more surrounding me. (As I have, from the top of my head: 68 degrees?)
You should slide the side monitors out further so you can shorten the angle
Love Nick wearing the Stray From The Path " No Peace " shirt!
The arm mount for the monitor mount can be moved in off of the upright so you can get the monitor closer to the center one.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Literally just got my first wheel and pedals to play AC. So glad i can mod in my favorite cars and tracks.
Move the monitor bracket down the arm which will allow the pivoting of the external arms. This will in turn allow the flat monitors to come closer in view. And you will gain that second bolt back.
Jay, you see a problem; I'm seeing someone gifted with problem solving and, believe it or not, this trial of yours is demonstrating just how to make a difficult thing work. I hope you get that chop saw and fix the arm. You induced me to look at curved monitors, a wished for expensive item on my tiny retirement income. I have just a simple home build, super budget, desktop on which I can, in my old age, comfortably play my games.
Great video, and you and your erstwhile cameraman are the best! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE TEAM!
@jay how you feel better man! you could have retapped the monitor mount holes to make it fit a little better
Great Video. Makes me want to get my sim rig back working. altho its just a logitech g920 its still fun
hey AV tech over here i actuary just set up about 50 sim set up a PRI in Indianapolis. The back bracket should allow you to mount the monitor off set. But it may have came in contact with other stuff looks good all in all.
Would love to see more things about simracing and stuff like that I got a simlab cockpit also with triples 1440p 32inch
ARKON Mounts Square VESA 75/ VESA 100 adapter plate, on Amazon for anyone that doesn’t have the tools to cut the plate.
I had this same issue mounting my LG Ultragear 49, power was completely covered by the simlab plate and I got lucky finding one that works with the aluminum slots.
Jay... Could you possibly do a video on power surge/outage protection for pc, router etc? Thank you!
Jay, I used the exact same monitors for my triple setup. I just used standoffs, 4x50 mm, in the monitor to space them away from the vesa. Also, you need to slide the vesa to the outside of the extended arms as far away from the center as possible to get close to the 60 degree angle desired for the side monitors. It will give you a 180 fov.
The side monitors edge should be perpendicular to you eyes.
When you properly set up the monitors in the sim they will have a much steeper angle surrounding more of your head, that will force the monitors to be further out on the arms and allow you to put the screw back in and use the designed amount of angle
that set up is nice, I really enjoy these sim setup vids and actually built my own 'cockpit' to sim race in. but what is the red button under the keyboard for?
im always tempted to go back to NV surround. i used it back when i had a 780ti and it really didnt like it haha. few years newer and we have the power to do it right!
always wanted to see this done using the bendable oled panels
LOL, JayZ' camera work!
That is awesome!
The arm sticking out the side is for accessories... like a fan, or another, smaller screen with Radar readouts, proximity flashers or something. You need to find some of those Gigabyte Bezel hider thingys.
