That's so great to hear about your Dad enjoying the music. I had a similar experience with my Mom on a Carnival ship a few years ago. There was a particular band that played Motown and they were really good, and she was there every night from start to finish. I can't remember ever seeing her enjoy herself so much. The band actually would call her out and also say hello to her if they saw her walking around the ship.

I just want to say I think it is just lovely that you all bring Paul’s dad on the cruise. My grandpa is 85 and I know he would love to cruise and get away once he got on, but he is just too old and gets too stressed. But he would love the live music too
It's great that John can still come with us, he loves the time on board. He wouldn't worry if the ship didn't go anywhere, the food and entertainment is what he enjoys the most!

Looks like a fabulous ship. I've just looked up saga cruise prices - and they are eye watering! Looks like we will be enjoying it vicariously through you! 😂
They certainly aren't cheap, however, when you take into consideration all that's included, transport, drinks, speciality dining, insurance and break it down then you do get a lot. Food was exceptional too. Thanks for watching! 😀
We were in Spirit of Adventure last October and before I booked I also thought the prices were eye watering. It took me days to decide to take the plunge but my goodness it was worth it. I can’t praise Saga enough. The food and service were second to none and the staff were superb. We are going on P and O in May and I really don’t think it will live up to my expectations after Saga. In future, providing the route it satisfactory, I will be taking Saga from now on. Price includes door to door transport, insurance, speciality dining, wi-fi, drinks, snacks around the ship and room service. Excellent value.

what a nice wrap around promenade deck. thx for that. Some ships do not have that, or some have stairs up one end, so I cannot get my walker up there. I am concerned that you drink that diet pop, Aspertame is worse than sugar for you. Take care. I laughed when you said about your brother thinking his shower had a strong blast of water, as many Brits have showers at home where it just dribbles out. I have stayed at a few homes and hotels there. Strange that Saga include insurance as it would not be valid for non Brits, so we would be paying for something we won’t get. Oh well I won’t be going with them as so not like booking in a non CAD $ fare if I can help it as one does not know what the final cost will be until paid and we see the exchange rate on credit card. Glad you had fun though. Always enjoy your sense of humour.

I've finally reached Saga-age, so we've been looking into cruises we can take with hubbies mum. It looks amazing so far, though think I'd go in warmer weather 😉 Also subscribed as you both made me laugh...I also get unnaturally excited about 'freebies' (which we've probably paid through the nose for 😄)

Ive laughed so much at this, I’ve woken the dog downstairs! You two are amazing - informative yes, but SO funny; and love that you include Paul’s Dad and brother. That promenade deck looks really wide - and rather empty (considering the QM2 was quite crowded in comparison) Looking forward to episode 3!
LOL poor dog! Most of the passengers had got off when we did the tour of the promenade as we were docked, as at other times it was busier. It is a beautiful promenade and aft with a lovely coffee area. We had a great cruise with Paul's Dad and Brother, they were very impressed with Saga too.
This looks like such a lovely ship. I am pleased to see you enjoying yourselves, as we enjoy ourselves vicariously through you. It's especially nice to see you with a butler- the style you should most definitely be accustomed to!! Love the comedy as always, Carole- your observations are a scream and Paul's reactions hilarious as ever. 😅

Cunards food is excellent, Saga's food is exceptional, some of the best we have ever had.
Lol the breakfast delivered was our regular eggs, cheese, ham, toast, marmalade and a pot of tea!

Being someone just about to retire and looking to go on their first cruise, I found all the details very helpful and it was great fun to watch!
Regarding the dining, do you remember if there many options for (awkward) people like me who prefer to eat plant-based, and is that something you can specify when you book do you know?

Thanks glad you enjoy them. All the food and drink we have had so far on Saga has been included in our fare we didn't pay any extra.

One question - how do you book the Specialty Restaurants? As they are included in the price how do they ensure fair shares for all?

Loving your videos... The only thing that concerns me is the dress code, I'm not one for dressing up... I see in you video's you are wearing jeans and tee shirt. Is this generally acceptable? I've seen other video's about Saga where people are wearing tee shirts to dinner is this allowed?
Please help as its the only thing stopping me from booking with them.....
You don't have to dress up if you don't want to. Most people dress smartly for dinner but casual is OK too!

When you were on formal evening were people wearing dressy trainers? I have purchased a black sequin top and trousers and a pair of black trainers with decorative stones as worn by shop model, someone asked if its possible to wear dressy trainers on formal nights when dressing up but responses have started to become unpleasant.
Hi Caroline, Ignore the unpleasantness, there certainly are some bitter people out there! If they fit the outfit then sure they would be fine. Comfortable shoes are important and if you have to wear them for podiatry/health needs then it would be hard for the cruise line to stop you.
I hope you don't mind me asking but how do you manage to go on so many cruises as it is very expensive. Are you sponsored by the cruise companies as you are doing such an amazing job. Ann Bourne
Hi Ann, No problem, I am recently retired and have been saving for 36 years in a pension, so now we are making the most of spending it lol. We have only ever been invited on one cruise with the cruise lines and that was a few years ago. 😃
