In episode 3 of our Saga Spirit of Adventure Cruise Vlogs, we arrive at the port of IJmuiden in the Netherlands and enjoy room service breakfast. We then continue our tour of the Spirit of Adventure with deck 12, experience some more fabulous food and have another excellent nights entertainment!

If I was on a cruise I would try to go on all excursions.
It’s impossible to fit it all in unfortunately.
You two lovebirds are so funny. You make me laugh so much. You deserve your own TV show. These Saga of Adventure videos are fantastic for me as I'll be on the ship myself on 29th March for a cruise to Cadiz, the Canary Islands and Madiera. I'm a solo traveller who has never been on a cruise before, so it's great to see the ship, the views, the food etc. I'm hoping my trip may be a bit warmer than yours! Thank you for these videos - so informative and so entertaining.

What a fun video, love Paul's little quick comments on what Carole is vlogging about. As far as an outside sailaway in the dark versus a nice bar with music, I'm with Paul every time. A glass of wine or a bottle of beer, relaxing to the music is a great way to pass the time. We loved Brugge when we were there on a cruise a few years ago and got to go to a chocolate making seminar at a Chocolate Museum. It was great and the Belgians are very particular about their chocolate and strictly regulate it. The samples were wonderful.

Really enjoying these videos. Had my first SAGA cruise this summer on Spirit of Discovery with my Mum. Sounds like you were as impressed with SAGA as my Mum & I were. We were only on for 5 nights and hope to be able to book something longer soon! Have been on various cruises, but SAGA has been the best!

What a lovely ship. I'm exploring solo cruises now and I think Saga looks perfect for me from what I'm discovering. The only thing is, there's no casino. I wonder what on earth I'll do i the evening?

Another great blog. The ship looks amazing and the food looks fab. I’d love to be on a cruise and meet you both. I went to Bruges and the guide called it Ze-Bruges. I’ve always called it Zebrugge.

Even though the lounge was big it was split into sections which we thought worked quite well!

I’ve just returned from a queen Mary 2 28 night cruise and the passenger locator form caused so many problems it didnt so much for us because we just did it on our phones.The ironic thing about it was when we presented it to immigration on the ship all they did was make sure it was the same name as your passport couldn’t believe it. Ps love u blogs xx

Paul & Carole, I hope you enjoyed Bruges which I find more romantic than Paris. Saga is tad too pricy for me but still on my achievable bucket list if I stick to a standard (no inside?) cabin and keep it mini (duration) apart from my age. My Lucy is too young but she doesn’t count, does she? Ijmuiden is pronounced eye-mau/mou-den and Zeebrugge is ok as -bruga in English but the natives say -bruhhe. I say Beijing Peiching. And this ship has a buffet, grill bar and self-serve ice cream? If there was a cruise film to be made, starring Jane McDonald as headliner, what roles would you like to play? But my suggestion is Paul Bar Manager and Carole Nurse. Then Capt Tony, Dr Don and Lecturer Gary. You know which ones? Would you like the ship RC or Virgin’s? June of London

Saga are good for over 50s who can afford it. Their solo fares are extortionate! I thought Fred Olsen were bad but Saga beat them hands down. I got a quote recently 200% more than the per person fare for 2 sharing. I only wanted to buy a cabin not the whole ship!
They are definitely not a budget line!

Well I guess cruising (and other things) in a vast majority of the world will be going in the crapper again.. 🇺🇦 🇷🇺 🇨🇳 🇪🇺 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 💩 I hope the cruise industry will be able to recover. At least they'll be able to sell the ships to governments to ferry people out if it comes to that. So much posturing.. I see more tooting around the UK in your future...Stay Safe!
