    • @archockencanto1645
      @archockencanto1645 Před 2 lety +11

It's natural. 20000 years ago there's no way on earth you would get to eat at will. You would actually have to go hunt or gather food, nearly every day or every other day. It's natural to eat once a day or once every two days. And not only is it natural anything else is unnatural. In fact, it's heathier* to eat once in 4-5 days than eating 3 times a day. Try it.
*Healthier as in you will feel better. Not that your body will perform at its best, that is around 8-20 hours after eating from what I've found.
Also, ideally you'd have a decent body fat%, at least 20%. That's why fat's there, to get you through periods where you don't get to eat. Also, another condition would be that you'd have to be somewhat used to this. For the first 5-10 times, it's going to suck big time, especially if you've eaten 3+ meals/day your whole life.

idk if you’re still cigarette clean, but in one of dr. berg’s old videos he talks to a lady about her weight journey while trying to quit. she gained 40lbs after she quit smoking and wasnt able to lose it as easily after she started smoking again. he said she gained because her adrenal glands were producing excess cortisol because the body was reacting to losing its source of nicotine. (i thought that was interesting) anyway, stay encouraged! i pray your will stays strong as you continue your work towards health.

Thank you, Dr Berg. I am now in my late 60's, but I have fasted for years on 1 meal on Fridays for spiritual and health reasons. It has helped me so much, increases energy, controls weight better, makes me feel better and has been a beneficial practice overall. You helped to put it into focus for me by advising to do it at least 20 hours and now giving a time frame of 4 hours for eating. The fasting has helped me in numerous ways inwardly and outwardly healthwise.

Also, the pros are now saying that, especially as we age, we need more protein.. and that's hard to achieve in a very small eating window!

I love IF, eating nutritional human food, I hardly ever eat out. My cardiovascular system is more important to me than eating something that will put me at a higher risk of a cardiac incident. The virtues of fasting are immense, and a number of sound hadiths state this, such as the following:
Fasting is something which is just for Allah, and Allah will give multiple rewards without measure for it. The hadith says: [Allah says:] Fasting is Mine and it is I Who give reward for it. (Al-Bukhari, Fath, no. 1904)
There is nothing equivalent to fasting. (Al-Nasai, 4/165; see also Sahih al-Targhib, 1/413)
      _________
Fasting the entire month of Ramadan (compulsory)
      +
the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan then fasts six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted for a lifetime.” (Muslim, 1164).
It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.” (al-Nasai, 2320; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’ al-Saghir, 4827).
      +
also fasting during the White Days (13,14,15 every month). (Lunar)
      +
The day of `Ashura which is the tenth of al-Muharram
      +
The day of `Arafah , which is the ninth day of Dhu’l-Hijjah.
      +
Fasting in the month of Shaban
      +
It is Sunnah to delay it, according to the majority of scholars, so long as the second dawn has not begun, because of the verse quoted above and because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Hasten iftar and delay suhur.” (Narrated by al-Tabarani and classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’, 3989).
The purpose of suhur is to give one strength to fast, so the closer it is to dawn the more effective it will be in helping one to fast.

Plenty feel great on a vegan, healthy fat cut all crap diet too., it is believed that eating a little all day spikes insulin over and over and can lead to becoming insulin resistant which is one way and the body needs time to rest and repair in between eating. The other way we become insulin resistant is from any bottled oil. Stop all the oil. Our ancestors didn't go around drinking pure oil. Dr fuhrman discusses the alternative to keto/carnivore. Many “health experts” on CZcams are no longer promoting IF primarily bc of losing muscle mass. We store fat and carbohydrates that can be burned in IF but if protein is burned it comes from your muscle mass.. It is hard to get enough protein with such a short eating window (FDA recommended amounts are way low and should be doubled). As we age, you do not want to lose muscle mass.

The veil of darkness is lifting because of people like him that truly want to help the masses and gives us the tools knowledge and power to prevent illness, disease and ageing. Bravo!

Keto makes this pretty easy. Fats like oil, butter, creams and cheese can get you there pretty fast. I'm on one meal a day IF and an example of my dinner is usually 1lb of steak cooked in 1 tbsp of avocado oil, 2 to 3 servings of cheese, 3 eggs made with 1 tbsp of butter, 2 to 3 servings of sour cream, salsa, then I will drink a protein shake 2 scoops for dessert made with either almond milk or no sugar whole milk yogurt plus 2 tbsp of peanut/almond butter. It is tough to get down the first 2 weeks but after that it's pretty easy.
