- Nagato's Pain. Naruto Shippuden Reaction: Episode 172, 173. This Naruto Shippuden Reaction Nagato's pain was revealed to Naruto. From the war between the great nations taking place in the rain, to leaf ninja destroying his village, to Hanzo setting up the original Akatsuki and killing Yahiko, Nagato did feel a lot of pain in his life.
This battle of philosophies is quickly coming to a close, and I understand where Nagato is coming from. He fell out of the path of peace Jiraiya set, and I hope Naruto and bring him back.

I began to watch Naruto 2006, at the time, around the feel first episodes of Shippuden, there are already a lot of people who had the "Red Rain" as a theory on forums around the internet, and I used the read a lot of them. My mind tricked me and I didn't though (remember) that was something the anime would show later, and if would now should be a great time to reveal, and since it didn't I though they may never do and maybe nice to say. Besides, I don't think that's a huge spoiler. But again, sorry.

Just to clarify, in the manga this whole scene with Nagato's parents getting killed happened in just a few seconds, those two Konoha's ninja didn't have the time to realize they were civilians, they saw a threat and reacted because hesitation in war gets you killed.
In the anime of course they prolonged this moment to the degree that it becomes idiotic that they didn't notice that those were civilians.
Heisuten a few episodes ago: Pain just killed many innocent people in the leaf and destroyed it. So I hate him.
Also Heisuten seeing Pain's backstory: Hey it's war. So death of innocent civilians in the Rain and conversion of Hidden Rain Village into a battlefield is completely understandable.

Whenever you see any new villains besides Madara, no matter what their motivations are, just blame Danzo
Hanzo is the leader of the rain so when the the three big nation (Leaf, stone and sand) make their battlefield in rain he stepped in but he did not incite the war but of course civilians (Yahiko) will blame him for that................
He was clearly a puppet of the Leaf.
Hanzo fend off the Sannin in that battlefield, he was a great leader for the rain village, even Yahiko admired him at some point, but the guy changed to be this dickhead we see here 😂😂😂

Think about it, the Five Nations achieved "peace" because THEY ARE THE FIVE STRONGEST NATIONS, their past wars cause suffer to smaller nations, and the smaller nations can't really do anything about it because they are just NOT STRONG ENOUGH. If Pain gets the Tailed Beast and another war happens, he can literally just nuke those nations and force them to surrender, like how America forced Japan to surrender by dropping 2 bombs on them.

Pain destroyed the leaf because Tsunade triggered a deranged man, and he wants to sell the Tailed Beasts to the highest bidder (the five great nations) so they can destroy themselves and learn what a bunch of dumb fucks they were. Pain's plan is not to play arbiter, get it right.

Pain already explained the reason of the war. The nations will die and starve because they have no missions and no job, the villagers won't survive. So they made up wars and fought so they will have support and money... I think that's what he said...
In a war you have to react. If someone's rushing at you, you gotta defend yourself. The ninja didn't know they were civilians until after the fact. In a War, you heaitate, you die.

The only reasons you can put those Leaf Ninja not knowing they were just residents were:
1. It was Dark.
2. Ninjas disguise themselves all the time.
3. They were caught off guard.
4. They thought the home in that battlefield would of been empty of people.
one good or interesting thing about this story is that it shows the dark times of the leaf village. The destruction of the leaf village are the roots of their mistakes in the past. That's what he says about the cycle of hatred or the justice. They destroyed his village so he has a right to do the same with the leaf.
It hurts to hear that he doesn't understand what Nagato meant by his peace because when Pain explained it to Naruto HE LITERALLY TALKED throughout the whole scene. Nagato meant that Konoha's peace meant hidden rain's destruction and what Pain was doing was no different from what Konoha did. This philosophy is so relatable and it's why naruto series is so god dam good.

All the abilities that were used by individual Pains are the abilities of Rinnegan. Nagato can use all of them at once. That is why none of the pains could use any other ability like Fireball or anything.

Another detail is the level of watcher each person is. There's people who enjoy watching anime or tv series or whatever but they don't watch it for the purpose of becoming a trivia master at "X" anime or tv series. They just want entertainment. 6:10 Okay for clarification they were in the middle of a war and had no rations, they walked into a building and were looking for food to keep them energized because they likely went without sleep for a long time. Imagine being in that state and then someone runs at you screaming, do you just stand there and let it happen or do you retaliate? In the heat of the moment there's no way they could have known if they were ninja or not until after the fact. This is a blind reaction lol so i'm not attacking you or anything just clarifying.
and add to that they were constantly battling and their adrenaline would be very high any moving thing will be an enemy for them and most importantly they were in a war-zone which should be mostly empty, my guess is they probably went inside the house looking for rations and thinking enemy could be hiding there so they have to be careful, i blame nagato's parents for not leaving the house early before the war started just like the others.
Killing those civilians was not stupid at all, just think a little, any ninja could have been hiding in this house and simply changed clothes moreover it's the dad that began attacking

it was not only of what happened to nagato's parents, its about what happened to the whole rain village, countless were massacred in the war where rain had nothing to do with. And hanza didn't excite the war, he only tried to save it, as it is duty to give resistance to those who wants to have war. Nagato saw the state of his own country, a country ravaged by war, so many orphans, people died starving, heck he himself was going to die like that. And he was not a ninja then, he was a very emotional boy, who didn't know how this world really worked. SO a guy aiming for peace is given. This is when we learn leaf were not particularly good, why do they get to preach justice when they were also the reason for killing countless innocent.

It's weird how no one is explaining that the reason the konoha shinobis straight up attacked Nagatos parents is because they couldn't see if they were shinobis or not. That's the reason why the shadow in their faces was black. There wasn't enough light in that room and when his dad just suddenly attacked, they fought back.(ig they could've animated that scene better, make it look darker...)
The konoha shinobis ain't the bad guys here. They even tried to explain it to Nagato but he just killed them. I mean, i can't blame him. His parents were killed right in front of him, he couldn't think straight anymore.
The hidden leaf shinobi who killed Nagato's parents were surprised that there was civiallians left in the area.
Thats why they attacked them. And it was VERY dark, like they tried to show. So the leaf shinobi only heard people, but didnt actually see anything but shadows.
So if you see it from their perspective, you should be able to understand why they just jumped them. Seconds is enough to be killed, so you dont have the time to assess the situation.

The accidental element of the civilian was not exactly portrayed well here - it was supposed to be light enough to see but dark enough to not notice that the two figures were frightened parents. War brings many unintended casualties, and when one considers that ninja can be super fast, every action/reaction counts. It just happened that those Leaf ninja had such a horrible trigger-happy (heh, no guns in Naruto) reaction.
Those 2 Leaf ninjas killed Nagato's parents and it's understandable because in that place ALL civilians were evacuated and anyone in is considered an enemy. At the end it wasn't the 2 Leaf ninjas fault. In fact one of the Leaf ninja said that if you re-watch it :D
@Madara Uchiha That's the thing... as a kid he or she won't understand but as the kids grows up he or she will understand and later on think that it was actually his parents fault for getting killed not the ninjas. The parents knew to... they gave an evacuation order to every civilian and the ones who stayed were considered enemies now.

I think the author did a good job in showing that relativism does not work. I dont mean e=mc², but relativism in terms of morals and philosphy that is why Nagato could become Pain. There must be something objective, objective peace, objective goodness, objective truth. Otherwise nothing is truly true and all is just an illusion.

The two ninjas went in there because they thought the house was empty. I guess they assumed (which is where it went wrong) that they evacuated the civilians already or the people that did live there were already dead somewhere in the house cause they're in the middle of a war.
