Hi, just a quick question, should we really clean the port for 30 seconds even if its not mentioned in the marking criteria? The 30 seconds is for the drying. Should we also count 30 seconds for allowing to dry? I am a bit loss. Thank you so much!

We always train our nurses to clean for 30 seconds and airdry for 30 seconds because that’s the proper way to do it. You should count off properly unless your assessor tells you to stop.

Sorry I am bit confused. When you finish your procedure same time you took off your PPE and talking to patient.
