He's a bird. He isn't that intelligent😂
@@billsny9243rude 😡
This guy tho 😂
@@baggypop7536@billsny9243 It's true, though. 😂
In regards to licensing, don't worry. the pirates always have your back. games will be preserved whether the devs like it or not
I think you mean "publishers" . The devs work for them and its usually where all the short sighted greedy idiocy comes from(most cases at least)
Unfortunately, they couldn't save the Crew =(
Here's to hoping that more people learn how to crack denuvo
Sure they do, if you like malware and getting your data stolen.
Unless they are Nintendo, who spends more effort on it's lawyers than on the games. But at least old nintendo games are worth preserving.
Many other japanese games are just some cursed anime dating simp rubbish.
That "shut up" to the quadruple A thing was very heartfelt.
He said what I was thinking, for sure. It's a very accurate response to that sort of corpo ridiculousness.
It was so genuine.
so about Ubisoft
if buying a game isn't owning it , then piracy isn't a theft
renting a car isn't owning it either but stealing it is still theft last I checked.
@@kingindyThe button on their store says "Buy this game" that would imply ownership.
Car dealership cant say "buy this car for 200.-" and then hand you a rental contract either.
@@kingindyPiracy is not theft. It's copyright infringement/violation, which IS a different thing.
@@kingindycopyright infringement is not theft… if you steal a car, the previous owner loses the car. If you get a game for free, the creator still has infinite copies to sell.
@@kingindyrental contracts don’t give all indications you are buying the car along with expressly stating you will have ownership of the car. You’re not financing a video game and paying additional interest up to 400% above what the actual value of the game is either.
I literally laughed out loud when Falcon told Ubisoft to "Shut up" when they called Skull and Bones a AAAA game.
I'm interested to see if Ubisoft is going to get a backlash in the EU. Closing the servers is one thing, revoking licenses is a completely different thing. Especially since the EU's European Court of Justice ruled that there's such a thing as a "Perpetual License" where the distribution rights of the producer are exhausted upon the first sale. Meaning Ubisoft can close its servers but has no rights to revoke the license itself.
If someone presents it to the EU where they feel something they can benefit from is being denied, just like most political organizations of power, they’ll step in. That said, it’s hard to series what Ubisoft thinks they’re going to get away with as anything but legal theft.
Wouldn't it be nice if the U.S. grew a backbone and stood up for the consumer every once in a while too? I know it's a hard thing to ask for from a completely corporation run country, but it would definitely be nice.
Also most EULA's do not hold up in court. With the recent precedents getting set against HP and John Deer over right to repair, the argument can be made that fans removing DRM and setting up mods to enable offline play for games that have become unsupported is them repairing their property, and the IP holder has no right to revoke access or prevent this from occurring. Also Ross Scott's campaign has been getting serious traction, especially with Ubisoft's blatant theft.
Fyi
There is a youtuber launching a campaing to stop revoking game licenses his name is ´Accused Farms’
The campaign is called ‘stop killing games’
Yes please look it up. There might be something you can due, depended on where you live.
Weird gaming story for you all: the top level ranked player of MapleStory, who has this top rank across all regions and servers, decided to stop his 15,000+ hour grind to max lvl at lvl 299 99.993% exp so he could explain and rant about all the problems going on in the interactive world servers of the global region and all the predatory p2w nonsense we have to deal with in the game. A lot of people in the games community are giving this dude huge props for using his position to make our issues finally heard by the way.
Thats great and all, but anyone that grinds that much on a game has no life. Is he making a living off of this? Then i stand corrected, otherwise id ask if he can even point out ukraine on a map.
@@anthonyfaccaro7118 Fuck Ukraine
@@anthonyfaccaro7118All that waffling to say jackshit... Bottom line is, why does it bother you so much how the guy spends his time?
That's awesome, much kudos to them! 👍
5 in a row = Quintuple
Single, double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, septuple, octopal, and I don't know if it's nontuple off the top of my head, but it's nonillion in numbers so, that's my guess lol.
Yup nontuble it is correct.
After sextuple, just look at the months for up to ten. There are ones for 11 onward but why?
It means five at the sime time though. Not five in a row...
@@vladislavpalenik329 He asked what came after Quadruple A which is Quintuple A or "AAAAA".
Can here to comment this immediately and saw your comment nice!👌
Honestly the number 1 story is why I am so resistant to going full digital. I like replaying my games or going back to them years later just to experience it again.
Honestly that's why I am happy I buy some of my games from Asia or elsewhere. When I am curious about trading in it forces me to not and I go back to the games I like and remember why I like it.
The day the industry goes fully digital is the day I build a PC and never pay for a game ever again
In my opinion my biggest complaint is games that require online service to play. I’m fine with digital as they would literally have no reason to take games away without uproar, but like with the crew, they took down the servers so it was useless and they have an argument, a shitty one but still, on why they could take it away
Falcon giving people shit for pronunciation is the craziest pot calling the kettle black I’ve ever seen
I thought the same thing lol. I actually totally appreciated Falcon pointing it out because people saying "nucular" is like nails on a chalkboard to me. That being said, Falcon misprouncing "iteration" is a very close second. Still love the guy and his content though!
he says rowlette wheel in this video too instead of roulette in this exact video. Actually hilarious
He does it intentionally to get hate comments and drive up engagement. It works
4:42 I'm genuinely surprised you mention "not having something that was promised in the game" and not include all the shenanigans going on around Tarkov's $250 bundle right now.
Indie games are reliably better hours per dollar spent than AAA games.
or even AAAA games lol
Hours per dollar spent is a weird way to determine a game’s value.
@@thelegendofstonecoldstevea3205I really hope the solution to the AAA budget issue is just make shorter, less bloated games. Almost every major AAA game, no matter how good it is, has bloat, and is simply designed to waste the players time. I’m not a dev, but I wonder how all these half baked ideas, mini games, puzzles (I like puzzles, but not all are made equally), and side stories add up and costs to implement. Would cuttting back only save a few thousand dollars or millions? I’d really like to know.
@@thelegendofstonecoldstevea3205it's a pretty poor metric for intending to buy a game, though it's fairly good as a recommendation
N the sense of "I played this cheap indie game and got hundreds of hours of fun out of it".
Hours per dollar they certainly are not lol
Say an indie game is $20, and you get 5-7 hrs of gameplay. We’ll average at 6. 20/6=$3.33 per hour.
Or the average AAA game, say you get 50hrs, we’ll average since some go way higher.
70/50=$1.40 per hour of gameplay.
Obviously these numbers change on price and hours, but in almost every case you’ll get better dollar per hour value in AAA.
Not sure why you chose that metric
When we all started moving away from physical media in the 00's, I was the only one in my friend group that was worried about the fact that greedy a-hole game execs were gonna pull this crap. Vindication is not as sweet as I expected.
yeah I still buy blu ray's and physical games when I can. It's so much better.
I tried telling people. On here, no less. I got called a relic and a fearmonger, and was told to shut up.
F*ck, am I getting tired of being right.
I said the same when HL2 required steam.

unskiplable ads: hello there
That would be beyond ugly. And ads have gotten out of control as of late too.
@@Bman32x Doesnt mean it wont happen . Any time there is something scummy (but profitable) the publishers can slam into a product and not get sued for (or think they wont) , they 100% will try it at some point
@@Bman32x unfortunately this is how it is bro what's worst is idk if we will even be able to get ad blocker for something like that.. money is king after all so am not fully as excited as i used to be for this tech
How about when they start inserting "persuasion coding" into those ads?
Imagine seeing a BSOD
If we stop buying games from game companies that take away our games we may be able to make a difference. I myself will never buy a Ubisoft game again!!
Me too
I stopped buying ubisoft games around far cry 4 was the last one. Because of this exact reason. Be the change you want to see. We hold the power, vote with your dollars guys.
What did Ubisoft do ?
@@dallasgoodfellow1686 they said players gotta get use to not owning games which me at some point when they delist a game they'll take it from your library. There is one reported case that a player hadn't logged in his Ubisoft account to play a game in years and when he tried he was denied access to play it.
@@Wenvolt damn thats wack but i thought that with every company and we domt own any of the media we buy

In response to #1: This is why piracy has a place. It can bring back dead/abandoned games.
What is the technical requirements for software to be considered abandonware?
@ChrisTedoni At least in regards to my personal views, it has to not be legally purchaseable anywhere or belong to the pc disk game era and is otherwise unplayable if you have no disk drive.
I don't think anyone is being hurt because people want to play something they may have even bought(The Crew, for instance)
I wonder how Old School Runescape would be with neurolink
You'd get banned for botting
You can't be banned if YOU are the bot. 😉
It's already time for the best gaming video of each month!!
Yep
Thanks for your help distraction from my depression while I drive
Hang in there. There’s always someone to talk to. Lot of us are going through similar or the same thing as you. We want you here 😊
thank you. Tipping is a way to pay less (as low as possíble) to people they hired under the *promise* of a great pay in the future.
AND someone in the games industry said: "Hey that is a great idea! let's do that too!"
Wait. Isn't that the salary model Blizzard already worked with: "We pay less than the average (already low) games industry salary but we make great games so you'll receive a great bonus when the project is over."
Ah yes, Denuvo. The ... "beloved" company
Ya'll joke, but there is a concernedly large amount of Denuvo shills out there who gladly support the software because it "Makes money for the developers" and "only pirate scum dislike Denuvo".
They're not the problem. The beloved companies that buy their crap are the problem. And you keep giving them all your money.
Everyone's linguistics lesson for today: after "quadruple" comes "quintuple."
Came to comment this, thank you!
And then Sextuple (6), Septuple (7), and Octuple (8)!
Number 8 is pretty good when remembering the insomniac leak
👆🏻
I thought they were hacked, though? Are you referring to the big debacle with the ransomware? Or was there a leak I'm not aware of?
"Quintuple - A Game" ... they may try, but Double A seems the new go-to for many gamers.
👍
Harada is absolutely correct. It is why games like RTSes and Arena shooters fell by the wayside. The skill floors are too high and often they are one-on-one affairs. Just because Tekken 8 is the fastest selling in history doesn't disprove his point. Compare the sales record of Tekken to a team based shooter like CoD or the LoL user base. The numbers aren't even comparable.
I think the skill floor issue might be more the point, especially with fighting games. Barring a handful of games that consistently bring in new blood to the multiplayer scene, if you aren’t playing day one, then it can be extremely hard to catch up just because there’s so few opportunities to match with players that are close enough in skill level to actually learn from your losses.
and iam just guessing here but iam pretty sure that probably half of the people who bought tekken only play the campaign with every character so basically only PVE
Yeah man, because adults don't have 10+ hours a day to dedicate to these types of games. The entire point and purpose of them is to functionality test yourself. Good luck keeping up if you don't no life from day one. A reality you'll hit sooner rather than later when you have more responsibilities than just school.
Harada isn't correct, he just oversimplified the issue to put himself and his game genre in a better light. So no, it's not a lack of personal responsibility/blame shirking, it's literally a cost-benefit analysis.
Also, if you (and Harada) are seriously saying that people don't make excuses in one on ones, then I have a bridges to sell you both.
Or now here me out here. People like social experiences. So would you rather do a one v one, or play with a group of buddies?
Every time someone says something along the lines of "young people these days" I'm extremely skeptical; it was already used by one of those old Greeks (2,5000 - 3,000 yrs ago?).
It’s that time of the month again!😁
Better than my other time of the month. 😂
“Like a weird cat in a dirty pile of laundry” never felt so real
Falcon would be a phenomenal narrator.
Honestly I agree fully
3:17 okay, I think I've more or less given up gaming at this point.
No you haven’t, not til you change that pfp 😂
@@Skateandcreate9 Nah. Too lazy.
I'm about there too. Too many changes that resulted in loss of fun. Anybody remember fun? It's why old farts like me started playing when we weren't old. But the younger players don't play for fun. They play for phony fulfillment and accomplishment points. The dopamine hit for "doing" something. Except they're not actual doing anything, and it's more like an addiction at this point.
"Nobody brings up tipping when they actually want to put more money into people's pockets." They bring up tipping when they want OTHER people to put more money in their pockets.
That PS1 portable console looks really good!
I think we can all say that despite our concerns with nuralink, we're all happy that this guy gets to live life like he couldn't before.
10:45 Quintuple comes after quadruple, CDPR is making a Quintuple A game 🙂
"The answer to all of your questions is money." -Don Ohlmeyer
Money would definitely solve 99 of 100 problems I am dealing with right now. So yes the answer is money for sure.
The point that younger gamers like to play multiplayer because they like to shift the blame, can also be refuted by the fact that younger generations simply grew up with more multiplayer games! There are generally way more online functionalities now than there used to be because of technological advances. I don't know what he was trying to say, but it just seems like a young people are bad complaint.
Love this series! Every month I am excited to see this!!!
We already do tip devs of games it’s called buying dlc, in game currency & subscriptions for games
Nice. We get a bonus 1 this month.
If any game deserves a AAAA it’s definitely not a Ubisoft title 😂
The Denuvo one is hilarious for one main reason:
The pre-release stage almost never has any DRM because they want the best version to give to reviewers.
They put the DRM directly before release (Sometimes literally a day or two before release)
So, if they want to do this, they actually have to make their game review worse.
Great video as always Falcon! The Ubisoft license business is absolute BS!
Denuvo, Ubisoft, all these stories mentioned let me be more proud of me adoring GOG. :)
GOG is truly the best.
Wow, that tipping story is spooky.
Theres more where that came from too. You ever hear of the guy that wanted to charge players per reload in battlefield games?
Gaming is the only industry left before it got truly rotten with other industry's scummy practice. Remember when it supposed to be an alternative from watching cinema / films where buying one game could give you hundreds of entertainment before it get stale. Enthusiastic and savvy people are carrying the industry with their wallets
Falcon is the best way to start your Monday!
🤝🦅
My fav gameranks videos and my fav falcon
ALWAYS BUY PHYSICAL MEDIA
If games are being removed from the servers. They should be updated at regularly intervals in their life spans. Just like apple IOS.
in regards to the tekken sales, selling the first 2 Million copies of T8 quicker than T7 doesn't mean necessarily T8 attracted new and younger player - it could just mean 1/6th of the T7 was eager to migrate T8 as fast as possible.
the quick sales don't even mean more sales overall in the future.
Especially since T8 introduced alot of microtransaction stuff and has a "mostly negative" on recent reviews because of that on steam => which could scare off new players entirely.
I mean harada said it himself. "DON'T ASK ME FOR SH*T" So yeah he can say something like that without caring lmao
'quintuple' A, is the phrase your looking for
This is one of the highlights of the month
The mind-boggling Escape from Tarkov story should’ve been given a call-out.
Quintuple comes after quadruple, Falcon.
Never seen a tekken player that was under the age of 17 lol. Still havent. Harada knows.
Every month I somehow still get surprised and excited to see this series in my recommendations
Amazing video gameranx,fantastic job.
Imo Denuvo's leak tracker is alright. Rockstar took a massive blow when that gta 6 leak went online. Because dumb people don't know how game development works and judged it immediately
Well the Rockstar leak is because there was a hacker accessing employee's footage. I think some random employee will get fired for it because some random hacker / leaked uses their footage
Last time I was this early I had sleep paralysis
😅
About the tekken dev thing, that’s a generalization, I’d say there’s a pretty even split among “younger” gamers between the “my teammates are ass bro” and the “1v1 me bro” types the former being mostly the shooters and the latter being like anything else
This is why piracy is thriving
We definitely need laws around digital gaming. It’s bad. I know I am apart of the problem. But we need to have that clarity that we actually own something, and AAA game devs are greedy as hell. Screw those guys. Indies are ok though! I’ve been supporting those people recently.
Omg I think I’ve been watching this channel for almost 10 years now😂💀
I remember when it was a huge deal when a guy was able to draw a very bad circle with this kind of tech. That really wasn't all that long ago.
I wonder where CD Projeckt Red gets the balls to say they'll make the first AAAAA game when they couldn't even release Cyberpunk 2077 in a working state.
Imagine going to a restaurant, AGREEING to the terms and conditions, ordering your food, eating it, TIPPING the waiter, and THEN the host comes over and DEMANDS for the food back because you agreed to the terms before entering the restaurant!
That little intro for gameranx videos hits the same part of my brain as the start up menu for PlayStation lol.
Absolutely love this channel 💪🏻
My favorite video each month
In regards to #10, I literally play solo quads in games like PUBG because I enjoy the challenge and thrill of being able to overcome extreme adversity, especially in a game. My man is simply just overreaching, but I get the point he was trying to make
👌
yeah the point is gen Z are garbage
One thing I love about being part of the Helldivers 2 player base is, when we put our minds to something, we can accomplish it.
I honestly think developers need to be held more accountable for the amount of false advertising that goes on
And by developers I trust you mean publishers/marketing team.
Because a lot of the time the only thing a developer can do is quit the job, which generally isn't desired considering it probably wouldn't make any impact as long as said dev isn't a higher up.
9:05 But what about Parry the Platypus?
Ubisoft behind the curve as per usual. 4A games made the joke years ago that metro exodus would be held to the standard of the company name.
I’ve been waiting for this.
"small handheld gaming devices..." shows a picture of every handheld known to man-
*Full sized RX-78 Gundam casually chilling in the collage*
With Neurolink, we'll get ads sent to us while we sleep.
The A labels are just based the funding scale. 4A and 5A have more funding so to speak. GTA VI will likely the first 5A game.
"Wake up George, you want a cheeseburger at 2am." followed by smelling and even tasting a delicious cheeseburger.
CDPR has no room to talk they can't even release a working game without taking an additional 3yrs to patch it and releasing dlc, hoping their mistake gets swept under the rug. Ubisoft, CDPR, all of it whole gaming industry is just slimy now.
All industries get taken over by people who are only in it for the profits and not the actual industry. This is backwards thinking.
Womp womp
There's actually a 2D Metroidvania named Bunny Must Die: Chelsea and the Seven Devils where you can parry environmental hazards including lava and spikes.
This was actually integral to speed running because consistent parrying of spikes and lava is a great way to sequence break

There is one interesting problem with neurolink someone pointed out. What if Elon gets bored and company just stops the support for the implant? It wouldn't be the first time a company makes some nice cybernetic limb, and then just stop existing
Remember that cybernetic spine thing yeah it lasted a week then got dropped
So did the nuro link work? Like can he move his limbs again?
He can use his brain to think of where he wants the mouse to go on his PC, and it works exactly like that.

Today's video: Falcon rants about capitalism ruining gaming. And I love it!
👍
What do you want? Socialism gaming?😂 Capitalism is how you get companies competing and how we get better games. Stockholder capitalism is a different story.
@ShinobiDrip999 Socialism gaming AKA Corporatism.
@@Robedon so you're saying we have socialism now? Because if you hadn't noticed America is owned by corporations.. so either you don't understand what socialism is or you're living in an alternative reality.
@@Enigmaenick Corporatism is a form of socialism. The government aides and funds these companies, just like Ubisoft.
I love how people are claiming false advertising with stellar blade cause "the gooch was nerfed, this is blatant lying! BRING IT BACCCCKKKK!!!"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously. I get being upset with censorship, it's never a good thing, but some of these people are blowing it way out of proportion lol
*BRING BACK THE GOOCH!*
False advertising? No, a sad turn of events? absolutely I think censorship is bullshit honestly and laws should be passed AGAINST it instead force people to actually use their God damn brains and make parents solely responsible for what their kids consume
That watermark one. Definitely just echoing your statement but I certainly see the benefits of stopping spoilers. But that's literally the only benefit. We always and I mean always are getting games that aren't finished or filled with bugs or micro transactions or missing features and it's nice to know these things before dropping a lot of money on a game

For the Helldivers thing, you could easily turn down the difficulty and just farm a ton of enemies with sentries. Even when not farming, I've gotten to 700+ kills in a mission before.

I don't know why, but your double downing on Nucular made me laugh 😂
It’s bc real ones know about this struggle 🤣
2:46 That's how it works, Falcon. Who else would be more willing to test your experiment than someone who could potentially benefit from it? After enough guinea pigs, you've perfected the technology, and that's when you become a super villain.
The reveal of the spinner on that controller was epic. I knew instantly before you said it that it was a spinner for the game of Life. That little spinner is a deep core memory.
