I just had a screen replacement done because of delamination on my 16 inch Pro. Apple said they don't typically cover this repair under warranty, but they did it for me out of goodwill.
After just 2 weeks of my new screen, I can already see my keys starting to imprint into the screen again.

I own a MacBook Pro 16 (2023). And this is a problem for me, because I work on a MacBook, without using an external keyboard. And constantly after a week of using the laptop, traces of the keyboard begin to remain on the screen. I am very afraid of damaging the screen with constant wiping every week. I am also afraid that there will be such a problem as on the old MacBooks, when the screen coating was damaged due to this. The thin paper like thing that you get while unboxing MacBook, never throw it away :P. That's the secret :v. @John Edzel Espino Yes that’s right. The paper like thing that is shipped in between display and keyboard of a laptop while it’s brand new. Most of us just throw it away. I decided to keep it. By doing this I have managed to keep dirts away from screen and do not touch display or keyboard while hands are dirty with debris and food remaining. And to clean display if it is required, I just take a microfiber cloth and spray small amount of water on the cloth, then just let it soak, with that clean the display. There is no need for chemicals.

Two things I don't like about the screen protector is that if it's too thick, they put pressure on the keyboard but also, there's just one more layer between you and the screen. In either case it comes down to preference (and patience, getting those screen protectors on without dust or bubbles isn't easy)!

I ordered this Apple laptop online about a week ago and received it in the mail yesterday. I wish I'd knew this before I bought it. I realized how quickly and easily the screen and the surface by the mouse and keyboard become filthy and covered with oil, smudges, streaks, and so on. If I'd known how easily this was going to get smudged and how much money I'd be spending on unnecessary shit like microfiber cloths and cleaning sprays and keyboard covers and shit, I would've stuck with the old devices I'm already familiar with because This cost me $2,000, and now I have to pay $200 for Apple Care and another $200 for accessories. I've never had to do anything like that before. Thank you for the bag advise, by the way. I visit my grandparents once a month for a few weeks, and I always pack a lot of stuff for the road trip. I used to take my laptop in my suitcase with my shoes, clothes, lotions, sprays, and extension cords, but now I have to carry this in hand in a separate bag with a case. If I had known I had to spend money on nonsense like a protected glass plastic screen cover, a keyboard cover, a mouse cover, and other nonsense, I would have saved my money.

  • @ibnujabbarulmukhlisin624

I believe this issue only occurs to older model due to the slim design, while the newer model does have thick rubber line at the edge of the screen to prevent direct contact thus provide some gap from keyboard surface~ just ensure there's no loading pressure on top of the lid and it will be just fine, in fact any laptop screen would leave some dent if there's external force involved in storage just like my dell n vaio models previously~ 👌🏻
