This documentary brought back a lot of memories. I grew up in North Long Beach and Compton in the 50's. Graduated from Jordan High in 1961. Was a member of the "DRIFTERS" Long Beach, car club. We also rented the National Guard building for our dances and poker run parties. We also used the Portuguese Hall in Bellflower for dances..
Love this great old car video and some of the different ways these guys came up on, good or bad. First car i got back in 67 out of the service, a 53 2dr Chevy paid $50, and more through the years, sorry now at age 78 i didn't keep a few of them, 66 Impala $1,200, 53 Buick $150 and more, their worth gold now, made lots of mistakes in my younger years but that's all on me no one else, but still have old car shows and 50s Doo Wop/R&R music memories, 3-9-24
I showed support by buying the dvd when it first came out. Glad to see it on here though, so I don't have to set up the dvd player haha. Time to go work on my shoebox
Wonder what year this video was taken and how old these guys are now 2024, i'm from East Los Angeles myself and should have takin auto shop class in High School Palmdale High, might of had my old 53 Buick still (lowered)even now at age 78 still want to learn welding, maybe find an old cheap ride to restore
Do it! Get yourself a used Forney Easy Weld, some scrap steel square tubing, and make some brackets. You will get the hang of it quick. So satisfying too.
I think this documentary was made about 2010. I was in the Cavaliers in 2004 before I parted ways with the club. I welded those shock/head light brackets for Todd's roadster. I think most of those guys are about my age (40s).
Good video. The music was horrible
