Pros
- Small folding drone for portability.
- Good GPS system with automatic return to home and landing on command, loss of signal, and low voltage.

Cons
- The drone's app requires use with a 802.11ac WiFi capable phone. Not all phone's have this capability. Before purchasing, it is important to first verify that your phone has this capability.
- Weighs 309 grams. It will require registration in many countries.
- The drone's microSD card writer did not recognize my newer cards greater than 16GB capacity.
- The drone's still photos are interpolated video frame grabs.
- The drone's waypoints map would not center on the drone's or my location. As such, I couldn't demonstrate this feature.
- You can not turn off the GPS feature once the drone is in flight.
I did an experiment with various microSD cards to document which worked, and which didn't with this drone. It seemed to prefer my older, lower GB cards. Here's what was tried, what worked, and what didn't. The only theory I have as to why some worked, and some didn't, is that they may have installed a very old card writer (maybe some vendor had a large batch of very old writers at little cost?).

I've seen a lot of cheap lower end drones. This seems to be one of the better ones from recent memory.

That drone is a keeper from what i seen. It was windy, gimbal remained steady, it flew for a long time, had decent video, app layout was good, it just worked. Then at that low price it's worth it. You should take it to lake erie and get some video. I would love to see some video of that lake.

Aside from the battery size and weight, and possibly the SD card reader that I know takes my 64Gb card ok, don’t they both have the same internal camera, gimbal and controller? They’re both made by ZLL too right?

FWIW, Banggood answered that question by saying it makes a difference of about 50 - 100m in transmission distance.
Hi, I have this drone and have only been able to fly it twice due to time, weather etc so I am no expert. I formatted a 32GB class 10 SD card and it seems to record ok. The other thing that I found out is the Clarity Icon, top right on the phone interface, can be toggled from SD to HD. Thanks again for the vid 👍
I also found that a SanDisk 64gb class 10 formated at fat32 works fine for recording

Very good and useful video. It convinced me to buy the drone.
Since yesterday the camera doesn't react to any movement comment anymore. It takes pictures and videos. But I am not able to rotate the camera upwards or downwards. Not using the remote commands. Not using the app slider.
Any idea what the reason or solution could be? Is it possible to return to factory settings?

I have the same controller as you are using with this drone. Can you tell me how you know when the controller battery is fully charged..?? I hook to the micro USB plug on the bottom of the controller... turn controller on,,, and on the screen, I watch the controller battery icon do the 'four bar cycle' over and over and over for 2 and 3+ hours and it never stops and shows a full charge..?? Any advice, hints or instructions you can share about this question..??

How do you know when the controller battery has been fully charged? I see no indicateres anywhere on the controller that says the battery has been fully charged by the charge cable. Overcharging a lipo is bad.

Hello. Do you know how to enable the non opticalflow fixed point mode of this drone? Every time i use follow me and orbit mode feature it always show that on the screen. Thank you.
Sounds like you're in optical flow mode. For GPS (fixed point) mode You need to wait until you are receiving at least 9 satellites before taking off. You can confirm that you are in GPS mode by seeing if Mode 2 shows up on your controller screen.

I use my hat camera for the audio. I use it as a visual cue to synchronize the drone's video with the hat camera audio. It makes my lip movement look natural instead of a badly dubbed Kungfu movie.
I have the SG907 Max. I am just now learning it and your video was very helpful. I have a question... on full batteries is it possible to fly so far out that I would lose signal and not be able to retrieve my drone?
Max control range is about 800 meters, and the flight time is about 25 minutes. So with a full battery, it should be able to return 800 meters easily. However, after about 15 minutes of flying, you should bring the drone close to you for the remainder of the battery.
But also note that as per the FAA, you shouldn't be flying any further than you can see the drone. That's about 400 meters for folks with good vision.

ZLL is the company that produces the drone. SG907 is the drone.

Which drone would you recommend for a new user who wants to get good photos? do you think a drone without an SD card slot is a dealbreaker?
Drones without SD card slots are a show stopper. If you want a good camera in this price range, get MJX Bugs 16 Pro. It's not as cheap as this one, but its camera blows away every other one in price range under $350 at the very least. It also records much better video. Almost everything else cheaper than $500 will give you just different amounts of jello, but not a stable picture I get from my MJX drones.
I almost pulled the trigger on a SG906 Pro2 until I saw this video. Ordered the SG907 Max instead for it's smaller size and hopefully more up to date technology (if any?). Cannot wait for it to arrive from China. I have a questiona that I cannot seem to find answer to on less expensive beginner drones. Once you set the drone up to follow you, either with GPS or image tracking, will it continue to work if you only carried your phone with you? I want to be able to film short footage of myself running or biking but would prefer if I didn't have to carry the controller with me.
Yes the app has virtual sticks. You can fly it without the controller. And it follows the GPS of your phone.
Image tracking probably doesn't work. Certainly not running or biking.

Je nějaká pravidelná údržba dronu ? Např mazání motorků. Pokud ano tak čím ? Bude dobrá kapička WD ? Jinak zatím spokojenost. Někdy mám obavy že zamrzl obraz a ono né, umí být i stabilní bez cukání. Bohužel umí i zamrznout ztrátou Wifi. GPS funguje na 100%

Questions.........is it possible to add n obstacle avoidance? Will it avoid objects in the follow me mode? Whatare the pro and cons should i locate an avoidance sensor to add, thus far i have not seen one specific for this model. Have you ever added a generic senssorto any drone? Difficulty level? Im a former techie , wiring and assembling electronics generally not an issue for me. Any infoappreciated. An impressive set of features at an attractive price point. Though I must say that the video quality of your hat mounted camera is so much better than the drone camera. The difference is like night and day. Out of curiosity, what camera are you using on your hat? Are you still using a Mobius? I would prefer to mount a camera like that to a drone and get more pleasing looking footage. I think the 3 axis gimbal worked well for the circling and following but I wasn't impressed with it's performance earlier on when you were flying forward. Ive seen better results from 3 axis gimbals from other low cost GPS drones like the Hubsan Zino. I guess the wind may have been affecting it at that high altitude. Initially, it looked really promising from it's specifications but I don't think I would be buying this drone after viewing the sample footage.

Hi Really enjoyed this revue and really fancy this drone. There appears to be very few outlets in England so CZcams is my only real source of info. It's not related to the drone. It provides a visual cue to allow me to synchronize the audio from my hat camera with the video from the drone. I synchronize the video using video editing software after downloading the video and audio to my computer. It serves the same purpose as using a clapper board in film making. I just received the SG907 Max. I had an older XC class 10 125gb card and it worked fine in the drone . No problems.

You can only turn off gps mode upon power-up before it gets a GPS lock.

It happens to me that the drone records at the same time on the sd card and the phone, I don't know why xD. I am using a 128gb class 10 card, should I try a 16gb card so that it stops recording on the phone?
PS: I did a test with the 128 card and record without the phone app (Xil pro) and record on the card without problems so I don't know what happens xD

There is no SG108 Max. But there is a S3 Max. It looks a little bit different at the front. But I'm pretty sure everything else is exactly the same as the SG108 Pro.

No they are not. Both are very different drones.
What speed does it reach?
I bought 1 from cafago and it won't fly only 2or3 then makes a loud noise sounds like the motors and starts to land hard I chatted with the cafago personal about it and they said they would refund 90mxn.but I paid 3,690.what am I supposed to do with the drone just look at it and remind me that I paid so much and I asked them I would pay for half if they would send a replacement like they say if not as described. I don't want this drone because it won't fly. But I like it. They haven't answered anything yet. I hope that they will give me a better product.
I bought one of these on Lazada online in Thailand. Somehow mine didn't have the bar code! When I tried to register it with the authorities I couldn't do it! So haven't flown it because I don't have the proper paperwork. It's so frustrating.

Kinda hard landing a drone while it's toilet bowling, isn't it. Had a holy stone that use to do that, but I could disable the GPS, then land. Re do the GPS then...

I have another question about the issue you experienced with incompatibility with selected SD micro chips... it sounded like you have a way to test and confirm if the card would work pre-flight and by switching to take a photo then back to video mode without pulling the chip and reading it externally.. Can you explain how you do this test? At time 17:22 the audio was a little blurred and I really want to understand how to do this chip test.
Yes. Just take a still photo. If the app says "Saving to HD card", then it's recording properly.

Well yes why not. But... GPS drones are too easy. I always recommend people to buy a tiny $15 whoop without GPS, optical flow, or even altitude hold you can fly in the house. Like for example the JJRC H36. So you really learn how to fly using throttle and orientation. Takes a bit of practice. Sooner or later you will be glad to have those skills. Like when GPS fails.

Hi, probably a dumb question but, when I press return to base it does that and lands and turns itself off, which is great, but how do I turn it off when I manually navigate it back to base, without having to reach in between the spinning rotors and pressing the of button, thanks.
Try moving and holding both stick down and outward. This should both start and stop the motors.
