    When they change key in the final chorus gives me goosebumps every time.

    Oh and they sing some songs in a form of the dead language of Gaulish, check out the song LVGVS( Lugus). There is a lyric video with english translation, so freaking awesome!!!!

    • @YasWitch7
      @YasWitch7 Před 2 lety

      Not a dead language but a RECONSTRUCTED gaulish one by historians based on what is still spoken on many Celtic countries + archaeological evidences

    Welcome to Eluveitie my friend;)
    Try "A Rose for Epona" from them, it's the same style of song. They have many heavier stuff like "King" or "Quath of the Raven", both really great songs.

    Cool seeing this reaction since you're an actual musician, the first album by this band "spirit" is their best work imo. If you like them you should check out Arkona, Moonsorrow and Summoning. those bands really have a way of taking the listener on an epic journey, especially Summoning

    I haven’t been to one in several years, but I used to go to Irish & Scottish festivals. I have friends that are in small Celtic bands and also bagpipe bands. I actually took (side) drum lessons for a short time but then life happened ☮️💜

    For more geek-inspired metal, I suggest the song Powerwind by Twilight Force, and if you want just straight-up fantasy, metal or no metal, I suggest Waking of the Spring by Priscilla Hernandez and My Jolly Sailor Bold by Ashley Serena

    If you like this, you would love their whole album Evocation II. It's not only a folk rock album with a heavy folk presence (where it's usually folk metal with a nice blend like this), but it is in reconstructed Gaulish (the precursor of Gaelish which became Gaelic, a major part of what we know as Celtic culture and iconography). Almost anything else of theirs would still blow you away like this though

    I love this band, they do both folk-metal and straight up folk, and both are amazing. I will put in this warning, this is one of their "lightest" and most accessible metal songs, normally Chirgel (the guy playing the lute and whistle) sings a lot more and his lyric style is harsh, also the female singer Anna) here has moved on and been replaced by a different (but I think equally good) singer Fabienne. But this band is truly awesome.

    "I'm a big ass nerd man" ... hah... that was great, this band has nothing to do with game of thrones but I feel ya... hopefully you checked out Faun and bands like that

      My favourite by them is Rebirth by the way. However, that might be too hard for you in parts, even though it's full of surprises. 😊
