This was actually sad to watch because there was so many opportunities to guide and encourage her like an older sister. Interviewer was definitely showing “mean girl” attitude. this interview was a chance for an older black woman to uplift a young black girl and encourage her to explore other avenues of life rather than sex work which is dangerous and uncertain. she’s 18 living alone, with no prospect of uni or employment and instead of unpacking why that’s the case, the interviewer was hellbent on humiliating and shaming her.
I thought this too. Could have been her mentor! And for an interviewer she really is not listening because 18 living alone in this line of work… where are the adults in her life?
