In order to cement her position - she would stomp on any of her black contemporaries from anywhere in the Diaspora. She left Beverly Peele alone because Beverly was gangsta. She didn’t bother the older models such as Iman . Ironically enough she left Alek Wek alone because she believed she did not have a “commercial look”. Alek went on to become one of the most famous black models still working today and her “not commercial look” is sought after in the industry. I respect Ms Campbell’s strides, but I can clearly see her faults.

Her drug addiction led to her downfall. She made quite a bit of money in her time. She burned some bridges in the industry though. Her drug addiction led to her downfall. She made quite a bit of money in her time. She burned some bridges in the industry though. Like I wrote, my family members were up close and personal with models - especially the black models of the time, behind the scenes in the fashion and beauty industry.
