Know this doesn't just happen to young women. My grandpa is currently abusive to my grandma. It got so bad he choked her a couple years ago when we were all out of town. My 73 year old grandmother had to move a state away to live with her _98 year old father_ for protection and to take care her dad in his last years. I don't care how old you are what your situation if you need to go back home do so.
My husband's grandmother told us a story the other day about her pastor husband (DH's grandpa) taking a shot gun and threatening her because she wanted to go to church with him. I had no idea anyone could treat her like that, he passed years ago and this was when they had grandchildren and everything.
Thats the thing. Keke isn’t struggling with going back home. Keke is the bread winner. She owns her home, and her mom was well aware of the abusive for over a year and couldnt tell Keke nothing. She could of went home or kicked him out, whenever she wanted to. @@nwatson2773unfortunately that’s a really hard thing to do. I have spoken to people who left an abusive spouse and they still got joint custody, either physical and legal or one or the other. One woman was upset she couldn’t leave the state or change her daughter’s school because the ex had joint legal custody. It’s really sad. It’s easier if you leave before the child is born and prove you’ve been doing the parenting on your own, but terminating all parental rights is hard unless the other parent says they want their rights terminated.

I applaud Keke for finding the courage to come forward and confess the abuse she suffered at the hands of Darius. As someone who has been with a man who has threatened to harm himself and me, my heart hurts for Keke. I can only imagine how terrifying and stressful it is for her with her son's safety involved, and she's in the public eye.
Everyone always remember this situation of Keke Palmer. How people dragged her while she went through hell. For many of us, we saw her as a sister or niece as we watched her grow and flourish on our screens. I think it would be a good idea to also have security for her family at their house, because sometimes unhinged males have been known to go after a woman's family to hurt the woman he's angry with.

I'm glad Keke is finding a way out of this DV relationship and it's public, PERIOD! Sarunas is a prime example of how men will protect other abusers even with things like video evidence showing an individual being violent towards their partner. Honestly just as disgusting behavior as the abuse itself and Darius and his brother should be ashamed. I also totally agree with you on Keke's mother speaking out! As someone who is currently 24, I definitely grew up watching Keke (shoutout True Jackson V.P.) and I personally have never in my life until today seen Keke's mother! She's extremely behind the scenes. Not that I needed any additional validity to Keke's statements but her mother making a response to Sarunas is beyond telling. I'm glad the restraining order has been filed for Keke and her son's safety!

I’m praying for Keke. as someone who’s never been in love romantically you really never understand how much love can have a hold over you… they don’t say “love is blind” for no reason. Also, I want to give her mother so much love for being the perfect example of how you’re supposed to be there for a loved one. As a victim of DV in my late teens/ early 20s, I'm sad to hear this, but Keke's baby daddy gave me abusive boyfriend vibes. My ex was like this and I finally got the strength and money to leave him and had to flee to another state and switched colleges to get away from him. My mom, stepdad and brother helped me get away from him. I met my husband in the new town I was living at and for over 20 years my husband treats me like a queen, showed me how a man should love and treat a woman and also know my worth as well. We have 3 kids now, 2 girls and 1 boy, and we want our daughters to know their worth, make right choices in men and not settle for anything and our son to treat women with respect and make sure they respect him and teach him how to lead in his relationship when he gets older.

Know this doesn't just happen to young women. My grandpa is currently abusive to my grandma. It got so bad he choked her a couple years ago when we were all out of town. My 73 year old grandmother had to move a state away to live with her _98 year old father_ for protection and to take care her dad in his last years. I don't care how old you are what your situation if you need to go back home do so.
So sad prayers up for her.
My husband's grandmother told us a story the other day about her pastor husband (DH's grandpa) taking a shot gun and threatening her because she wanted to go to church with him.
I had no idea anyone could treat her like that, he passed years ago and this was when they had grandchildren and everything.
Thats the thing. Keke isn’t struggling with going back home. Keke is the bread winner. She owns her home, and her mom was well aware of the abusive for over a year and couldnt tell Keke nothing. She could of went home or kicked him out, whenever she wanted to.

One woman was upset she couldn’t leave the state or change her daughter’s school because the ex had joint legal custody. It’s really sad. It’s easier if you leave before the child is born and prove you’ve been doing the parenting on your own, but terminating all parental rights is hard unless the other parent says they want their rights terminated.

As someone who is currently 24, I definitely grew up watching Keke (shoutout True Jackson V.P.) and I personally have never in my life until today seen Keke's mother! She's extremely behind the scenes. Not that I needed any additional validity to Keke's statements but her mother making a response to Sarunas is beyond telling. I'm glad the restraining order has been filed for Keke and her son's safety!

Despite her bubbly personality, Keke Palmer is just as human as anyone else, and she has to deal with problems behind closed doors, just like everyone else. She is a celebrity, but she is still human. I hope she heals and doesn't go back to him, but we are all human and make mistakes. She has obviously been dealing with this problem for a while, since the tweets in the summer. Maybe this will be the last straw. From her mother's video, it is clear that this was going on before she even gave birth.

I’m praying for Keke. as someone who’s never been in love romantically you really never understand how much love can have a hold over you… they don’t say “love is blind” for no reason. Also, I want to give her mother so much love for being the perfect example of how you’re supposed to be there for a loved one. She said she been speaking to his family for a year about his behavior, and we’re just now finding this out. She could have said something during that whole usher thing but instead she chose to be a ROCK for her daughter and NOT add to the hate she was receiving for staying. As a victim of DV in my late teens/ early 20s, I'm sad to hear this, but Keke's baby daddy gave me abusive boyfriend vibes. My ex was like this and I finally got the strength and money to leave him and had to flee to another state and switched colleges to get away from him. My mom, stepdad and brother helped me get away from him. I met my husband in the new town I was living at and for over 20 years my husband treats me like a queen, showed me how a man should love and treat a woman and also know my worth as well. We have 3 kids now, 2 girls and 1 boy, and we want our daughters to know their worth, make right choices in men and not settle for anything and our son to treat women with respect and make sure they respect him and teach him how to lead in his relationship when he gets older.
Being attached to the wrong person can destroy your entire life. I pray for anymore in any abusive relationship, rather it be emotionally or physically 🙏🏽 Get out.

I have an unpopular opinion. Yes, this whole situation is terrible, I’m glad she left, and I hope she and her son are safe. But I believe stories like this should be a wake up call for black women to stop getting with these men who aren’t on their level. Steve Harvey warned her before (I know Steve isn’t the best, but he gave her some good advice) and she didn’t listen and here we have the result. I'm not going to lie, I was kind of disappointed in Keke because she made it out to be as if they were in on it together after the whole Usher scandal and I felt played but looking back at this maybe he was abusing her or she was trying to defuse the situation so his embarrassment would be decreased and maybe he didn't mistreat her anymore.
