Looks great Andy. I’ve just finished building the TT-02R version and also opted for the Celica GT-Four body. I’ve been pondering for days what colour to paint it and had all but decided on silvery grey when I saw this video. I just bought a can of that PS51 as it looks amazing! Can’t wait to get it painted up now.

I know sun, right !? Literally Monday was the only day there was sun forecast, so it was make sure I get it filmed ;) it did look like I was going for a grass run didn’t it ;) cheers mate :)

Heh. I’m planning on doing the same thing. I built a TT-02SR and picked up a Celica body for it. Just gotta get it painted up.

Had the same issue on my SRX build last week with spur/pinion cover, I ended up doing same thing grinding down inside

Wow, that Celica looks absolutely awesome, love the colour! That chassis runs really well too, but a hopped-up TT02 usually does ;) Still can't get over the price though.....😂 Great video as always mate, can't wait to see it going round a track!

Yes it’s a top end spec tt02 do it dies run nicely , the diffs are great , and the chassis material certainly makes it responsive especially with a good servo installed. It’s expensive but I still say if you bought it all separately it would be even more expensive . Hopefully on a track my soon ;)
have you researched the thread tapping dye available, sold out now but got to get the 54232, creates thread before installation of screws, the SRX sounds very smooth
That paint looks great, looks really fitting to that car. Love how it catches light with that chrome effect. That aside, what a kit! Done well there Andy. 👍🏻 Big up your mate Steve too 👍🏻

Looks sweet Andy 🤩 I really want a road car next as I've crossed off all the other platforms I wanted when I got back into the hobby and would like something to thrash around the carpark at work during lunch 😃 there's a few platforms to choose from and everything new seems to point to a tt02 but I wasn't over impressed with my tt02b tbh 😕maybe I need to upgrade the power 🤔 anyways thanks for the video 👍
Hi Steve cheers for watching generally tt02s are entry level cars but you can get them to preform well with some tuning Etc , I’m looking forward in trying to race mine at my local club. The new tt02b is a big improvement of the standard kit especially with the oil filled diffs and stiffer chassis plus the carbon towers, they stiffen it up and make it much more responsive. I have the TT01 version of this kit. I did get the Tamiya pre-painted rally version of this body. I also did paint another body in silver . I then put on Tamiya drift tires. I can now change the silver Celica drift to a Celica rally car. Thoughts?
Hi Alfred it’s a very nice body shell and pictures don’t do it justice. I like the TT01 chassis a lot if the racers at my club run them in the Euro truck class, I don’t personally have one but I quite like the TT02 especially this latest version. Cheers for watching
Hi Andy, great car mate and a brave choice of colour! But it does look awesome in the sun. Love that body shell. The chassis seems nice and planted out there on the tarmac and sounded very smooth. Definitely a step up from the stock TT02 and then some!!! Looks like you had the only sunshine in the UK for the last few months! Cheers, fella! :O)
Hi Mark hope your well. It definitely felt planted on the road and your right very smooth , a big fan of those oil filled diffs. Colour was a bold choice but I’m glad I took the risk, ;) it was a sink or swim kind of colour to go with , ha ha. My wife Xoe said Monday was the day to film the rest of the week it’s going to rain . Women there always right ;)
What links did you use in replacement of the upper and lower arms?
The upper and lower arms are taken from the Tamiya TRF 419/420x they come in the SRX kit :)
Looks awesome! This was my first car car. And loved it. Still holds in my heart. I bought a body awhile back. Wanted to make it look the same as my car. I do want this rally version also! Did you paint tge grill? What colours did you use? Still cant find any info on the net. Thanks.
Thank you 🙏 I used ps5 bkack for the grill , this was painted on the outside of the shell by cutting out the film from around the grille. The anodised purple colour is ps51. It’s a fantastic looking car. Cheers for watching

Does this car accept aftermarket spur gears like kimbrough?
You can get them to take 48dp gears but I’m not sure exactly what brands fit. The lad who bought the srx off me fitted 48dp gears to it
