Boss Marlon, any suggestion for source/s of good knives for grafting?
hi vincent musta thanks for watching ha. knives ba? i used to buy kitchen knives eh hehehe as long as it's stainless and thin.
What are the best soilmix for grafted gymnocalycium?
It depends on your are Jed. IF it's inside a greenhouse, we usually make it at 60% organic materials (compost, coco/peat moss, etc) and 40% of any type or mix of inorganic materials (best with pumice and a bit of lava rocks)
Thanks sa video
I'm sorry I'm a bit slow...so dapat po ba na as-in aligned yung cambium nila or kahit slightly-off?
its ok no worries :) the cambium of the RS and scions must always overlap. cambiums are the bloodvessels of plants, any disconnection will stop the flow of nutrients going to the scion - it will die :)
I'm confused! You show a sketch saying to overlap the rootstock and scion vascular rings (diagram of 2 linked rings) BUT then your captions say to align both of the rings. Which is it - off centre or directly on top of each other?
Vanessa Belt Align the rings so that the cambiums of both overlap
You can use both point
Hi! I saw a video and he was using a glue in attaching it.. Is it ok to use it or it can affect the percentage that it can be succesful?
I haven't tried it actually as I haven't heard someone using it. I've seen that method used on grafting but not on cacti.
hi! nice video sir. tanong ko lang po, anong uri ng cactus and madalas na ginagamit for rootstock? salamat po!
Hello Gabo. Usually, dragon fruit cuttings are used because they are cheap yet they are proven to provide the fastest growth rate on grafts. Blue boy, harissa, and other cereus type of cacti are used as well
I didn't get a chance to read the text because it was too fast!
Can you do this with dragon fruit cuttings? i.e draft dragon fruit A onto Dragon fruit B
yes you can. there are a handful of dragon fruit varieties and I've seen some who grafts them too for certain purposes.
Succulents and Spikes Thank you!
I wanted to try grafting new cuttings onto established plants! Thanks!
welcome. please keep us updated with your projects too :)
Sir make a vid nmn for best soil mixing na mabilis nakikita here sa pinas thanks
hello gilian. that's on our lists too dont worry. We're just waiting for our trip to thailand and we will have a comparison :)
We have created a new vid for that. How to care for cactua and succulents
I think it is point B
Question po, ung sa vascular rings po ang need is overlap, not necessarily nasa gitna ung vascular ring ni scion sa vascular ring ni rs?
nope, dont put the scion's vascular rings on the middle. there wont be any connection, no nutrients will flow.
hello, kelangan bang buhay na yung dragon fruit na rootstock bago maggraft? or pwede ding sabay ang grafting at pagtanim? sorry newbie here. interested lang magtry 😬
Hello naomi. As much as possible try to use a root stock that has roots. An RS(root stock) that is stable is much better used than that of a freshly cut. This also goes the same for all other kinds of rs such as blue boy and harrisa etc
Succulents and Spikes ahh ok kaya pala mahal din tong ganto kasi time ang puhunan kasama na din ang care during that whole time. btw thanks sa response! keep on making good videos!
hello sir, ask lng po ako kung pano po ba ma achieve ang Bright color ng cactus na ipapatong sa dragon fruit stem? from green iiba din ba kulay niya?
Hi, any green cacti will always remain green. You can expose them to full sun and get color stress (redish) but will be back to its normal color when you get them out of that spot. If you mean color as in variegation, it really wont change to that. variegation is a different thing, its in the genes most of the time though there are some that naturally variegates but its very seldom
tape never worked for me
mga ilang weeks po bago ilipat?
Ano poh yong best RS na marerecommend nyo. Thanks
I really use dragon fruits most often than not but the best is blue boy though pricy and is not readily available at times
Point B ang sagot ko. Ang Point A with roots ay siyang ginagamit para makapag climb sa wall or any surface. Congrats sa nanalo! ☺️
Wala po bng ginagamit n pandikit sa paggraft?
root b
mas mabilis po ba lumaki pag nkagraft? and ano pong scion and rs ang match..
yes it's way much faster when grafted. As with scion and RS, it must be cactus to cactus and euphorbia to euphorbia
i tried it po mggraft ng moon cactus ko twice nA. After a month nadededo na xa. why Kaya yun???
personally i don't recommend using moon cacti as practice scion coz they have weak resisteance against phatogens or physical damages compared to the normal ones. Though i would always say to check the connection between the scion and RS, that's the usual problem i see. others are due to fungal infections (the brownish thing you see on the wounds). can you describe what had happened to your graft?
Hello how are your graft projects?
Rooted na po ba ang dapat na gagamitin na root stock?
You can use either but i highly recommend using the rooted one to ensure a high success rate
I think its Point A po! :)
nabubuhay ba ung moon cactus ng walang rootstock?
nope, these mutated gymnocalyciums will never live by itself. they don't have Chlorophyll. that's why they always have to be grafted.
Point b po
Point B should be planted po
nice
Point B po sir
question lang po dragon fruit po ba ang gami nyo???
i use several RS depending on the use and availabiliy. Opuntia, blueboy, san pedro, steno..
@@SucculentsandSpikes hi. pero can dragon fruit stem po may be used as a rootstock? Thanks!
