@@p-s-x741 No, the eval will never go in favor of the player moving, since it's alr depending on the best move (exception: too low depht, you play a better move then the engine at that depht)

This was actually incredible, and I also feel it's incredibly instructive having Stockfish take half the moves for you as you can potentially see things in the new way engines like Stockfish do things. Both entertaining and instructive, and a damn good job at finally defeating Mittens (The real one, with a *little* bit of help)
Mittens is the only bot that managed to make us feel confident in the beginning only for it to shatter all our hopes and dreams infront of our eyes. Exactly how I'd imagine a cat would play chess if it could tbh
In my first game against it I managed to win a pawn. Then I got mated 3 moves later.

This is a great idea for human games where two teams of two people play on one board alternating moves and aren’t allowed to talk to their teammates and just have to guess what their teammate is going for

Now I want to see a chess variant where you get just one "phone a friend" move anytime you want (basically just letting stockfish play one move for you)
The problem there is that stockfish sees way farther than you can, so it might suggest a move that is the first step to an amazing play, but is total garbage if you don’t see the rest of it.
That would be interesting for a chess format, you alternate turns with the bot playing the top move, so white human, black human, white bot, black bot, white human. But you have no agency on the bot moves.
The part about Gotham ranting about he would never lie to his viewers, right after watching his most recent april fools video is just- *chefs kiss*

ke2 was a set up to get a bishop by qh6 and mittens would see the future check and would guard the queen so then bishop gets taken and it goes on
One game of mine I analysed I made like 4 inaccuracies and 2 mistakes all the same move. It wanted me to develop my knight. Everytime I done a retry, it was the knight.

I put mittens into a forced checkmate a few months ago with my queen and basically no matter what they did it would have been checkmate. What i did was checked mittens king forcing it to go back into a canal where I could push my queen up into checkmate.
How to play like Stockfish:
-Find the best possible move through careful board analysis
-Throw that out the window
-Reposition the Queen slightly in a menacing manner
I feel like alternating moves with Stockfish must be crazy because what happens when the Fish goes for some stupid looking move and you have to figure out the insane line it's calculated or lose on the spot.

Eric Rosen, assisted by Stockfish, beat Mittens with black in a Stafford Gambit. Not sure the game took 30 moves, and the checkmate was rather spectacular. Point is, it's possible. I don't remember him mentioning how many times he lost or if he did lose at all whilst attempting that. I applaud you not just for managing the win, but also for being honest about how long it took.
I thought he only used stock fish, then again I don’t remember every detail in the video so I may be wrong
@@iainoam2565 no. he played a good bit solo, I think he even found the mate combination himself. I have to check that last part.
Tbh it's easier to let stockfish put you in a winning endgame, then play the rest out yourself, than to alternate moves with the engine since a single slip-up early on would mean death.
Not saying Rosen couldn't do it if he tried, I'm sure he could-but this is an apples to oranges comparison here.
@@MistahGamah yep Rosen played the opening then let stockfish reccomend moves. He didn't always pick the top move, but he couldn't really blunder.

Stock fish did one move per like 5 Gotham moves. The whole video took about 10 trys. Assume each game is about 30 moves. Stock fish helped Gotham with 60 moves. I beat mittens on the first try doing all stock fish recommended moves. My game game was 50 something moves. Gotham used 60 stock fish moves and I used 50 to beat mittens. Therefore, I’m better than Gotham.
