    Thanks for sowing this. Every polishing video I find only shows basic polishing of a nice flat hood. Nobody shows how to polish contours that are all over any car that isn't a truck of van.

    I love that you’re touching on this topic. Most videos shows only the hood or a flat door. Could you do a video on polishing top of the car and door jams

    cx5 also have curve area like this on hood. scooping technique with 3inch and slower speed works best! for extreme curve like 90 degree, usually i buff it with nano polisher 1 or 1.5"

      @OSRENOfficial  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi there, good question. For that area, if the pad is smaller than the surface, and if the polisher housing may enter without bumping into any surface (especially the tip of the neck), the answer is yes.

    I have a griots G9 polisher with 6 and 5 inch backing plates. Is there any technique I can use to do this with a 5 inch polisher? I really don’t want to buy another polisher. Should I just do the narrow curved areas by hand, and flat areas with my DA polisher?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 3 lety

      Hey, so for really tight curves, we don't recommend polishing with a 5" or 6", it's forceful and might cause unwanted result such as backing plate knocking on paint. Perhaps hand would be the best out of this situation.
      You will have to use your discernment on this, if you may be able to tilt and not knock into the curvy surface, and the pad is still able to spin, then it's fine.

    Is it ok if only polish with only tip portion of pad with da polisher when polishing smaller than pad like body line which has 90 sharp rise?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Rajiv, I'm afraid we don't understand your question. We are guessing, so hope you find the answer relevant.
      Polishing edges regardless of da or rotary requires a more cautionary approach as we don't want to chip off / strikethrough paint on edges. We recommend tilting ever-so-slightly in a way that the rotation spins off the panel rather than hitting it directly.
      Most polishers are rotating clockwise, hence tilting on the correct angle to prevent it from knocking the paint would make sense. (Da pads would stall if there is too much tilting, hence ever-so-slightly approach)
      There are also other precaution steps we recommend including taping adjacent panel's edges and slowing down on machine speed.

      @@OSRENOfficial what I mean to say is if I have small area where I cannot fit the entire pad, can I still polish by placing tip of pad surface on that small area?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 2 lety +1

      @@gmaail... on rotary, this is a common technique and approach.
      On a dual action polisher, most of the time it's difficult and doesn't correct that well with deeper swirls/scratches by doing so. A smaller polisher is still highly recommended.

    For concave areas, could you just use a 2 inch like the nano?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey there!
      A smaller polisher will definitely help in tackling convex or concave surfaces with greater ease, however, the drawback is that for a smaller pad, it might take longer to cover the surface. At times, during polishing, we do find that a 3" da polisher (or a pad that is slightly oversized) with the techniques applied would yield the same result at a much short time for most curvy areas. But for difficult or smaller surfaces, the 2" and 1" are truly a wonder.
      Of course, if you have access to multiple-sized dual action polishers, polishing these areas will be easier!

    Would the angle of the pad create holograms?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      Nope! 😁 angling the pads on curve or caved surfaces will actually maintain parallel and maximum contact

  • @M3_86
    @M3_86 Před 7 měsíci

    Are there any hand polish sponges/microfiber to use to make it easier? I tried with regular mf towel and it was a mess lol

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 7 měsíci +1

      We don't recommend using hand polish sponges as by hand isn't sufficient in defect removal.
      Unfortunately machine polish is the way. For concave and convex areas, switching to a smaller polisher will help too

  • @benlim5999
    @benlim5999 Před 3 lety

    Just to check if the polisher machine being used in video is also DA?

    • @OSRENOfficial
      @OSRENOfficial  Před 3 lety

      Hey Ben, we actually polish this car with da entirely. So yes it applies on dual action polisher as well. As long as there is sufficient surface area for a polishing pad that is in contact with the paint surface, it will rotate.
      There are times where smaller polishing pads are favoured to allow more contact coverage of pad and to navigate narrow and smaller surface as well.
