    For those following along, you don't need to remove the fuel rails or disconnect the fuel line. The lower intake will unbolt and then the whole assemble can be moved out of the way to the left.

    @alivia4907 Před 5 lety +26

    You don't have to disconnect the injectors.. Just leave the fuel line connected and put the whole piece to the side. Great video tho. I think I will be doing this tomorrow to my 2011 town and country.

    For those doing this the first time time be advised that the 2 top rear bolts of the manifold will only release once the bottom lug nut is loosened from that bracket. It's a tangle to get to it but no other way.

    Great video and yes 2013 piece of garbage. Had a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan with same failure. Oil change place said “Looks like a transmission leak” as well........ Also interesting fact the local Dodge dealer had replaced the front head 3 months ago because of stalling and never mentioned a oil leak from this part. They must have figured it would be repeat business later.

    Ok until you reached the removal of thr fuel rail, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT remove the fuel rail, leave it attached to the lower intake manifold, only detach the fuel injector connectors and fuel rail connector. Lift the entire unit up and out for full access to coolant assembly. Be sure to TORQUE all bolt in a sequence cross pattern to prevent future leaks.

    How many foot pounds do you tighten down the cooler too? Each bolt? I recommend just tighten up with a good feel. A torque wrench will only strip the threads on the aluminum manifold. This is a night mare if you do that. You have to re tap the hole a tad bigger and use a new bigger bolt. This entire design was done by an engineer on ACID and drunk and with a brain tumor.

      This is a very common problem for this motor and usually will start leaking from yr 8 to year 10 with out fail the worst I've seen is a loss of a quart of oil a day every day until they Parings are replaced and by all means dont forget there is a torque sequence and a set number of inch-pounds to torque to.
