  • This van came in two quarts low on oil, customer noticed a large amount of oil puddling under it. Fortunately there’s an updated part to solve this problem for good.

Does it make a big mess underneath the engine like all over is it just that puddle? Looked at a Chrysler town and country 2012 with an oil leak I’m trying to see if I can diagnose it before I buy it

It normally cascades out over the top of the transmission, those vans also have issues with the trans cooler lines leaking fluid further forward

A small amount as pictured in this video is normal since there’s no way for it to get away

Someone has said the newer model dorman kits don't fit exactly the o ring seat or whatever on the oil inlet line (metal pipe) is a different size. Any update? Did this fix it? How'd the install go?

We’ve installed three of them with no issues, I don’t count on the o-rings being right but haven’t had a problem with THIS kit yet.

@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 thanks ya those dorman kits are out of stock everywhere for our older model 3.6's prior to 2013 they were slightly different dorman has part #926-959 is that what you ordered? I just got a used oem one I plan on installing it with new gaskets when my leak acts up again for some reason it isn't leaking anymore.
What did you do about the fuel rail did you disconnect it or move it out of the way I think you left that part of the video

@@KensDIYandHowToif I remember right it comes out with the lower intake, that green plastic clip is similar to the ones they used on gm years ago.

Best thing in cases like that, you put in in writing, what if it was broke before you got to it? You have to eat it, always, always in writing, plastic no warranty, no exceptions! Learn to cover your butt!.

Fortunately this is a family member, this van was a fairly recent purchase. This is the first time I’ve used the updated unit, it wasn’t available the last time I did one of these.
