Back in 2013 when the Dodgers clinched the NL West in Arizona, they celebrated in the D-Backs pool. I'm sure the D-Backs didn't forget about that and wanted to add a little insult to injury😂
That was peak Dodgers shithousery. Do something totally douchey then get upset when everyone calls you out. This was the comeuppance I’m sure Arizona has been waiting for. For a team that brags about owning the west, they rarely see it through to the end. It’s absolute catharsis. Thank you Dbacks for punking the Dodgers! Carrol is a beast!

This was more of the Diamondbacks coiling and constructing the Dodgers and delivering a lethal snake bite that the Dodgers just could never recover from.

As a Mariners fan, I'm just so happy that Sewald is doing good at the playoffs, a thing that he probably wouldn't get if he was still in the Mariners. I go for you guys in the NL, go and defeat the Phillies or Braves to go to the WS, and if you can go and win it all too.

This playoffs makes no sense. The Rangers making the AL East look bad, the Phillies having the Braves in their corner, and the Diamondbacks sweeping the Dodgers, this makes no sense. I love it.

I have to happily admit how wrong I was about the Diamondbacks. I didn't give them a chance and I'll gladly eat crow.
They played the worst playoff team in Milwaukee and beat an injured dodger team. The win over the dodgers is a little surprising, but there is no way they beat Philly/Atlanta and houston/Texas. One upset is gonna happen. 3 no chance.

Washington and Atlanta were actually good and we’re not huge dogs all the way. Washington was favored vs St. Louis in the NLCS and Braves were favored vs Milwaukee in the NLDS. Plus they had mvps (freeman)and cy youngs (scherzer ). arizona has 5 good players marte, walker, carrol, Gallen and Kelly. The rest of the team isn’t very good.
Secondly, while the d’backs were Vegas dogs vs Milwaukee they were a better team all the way around fielding, hitting, base running around except pitching. Philly or Atlanta should take them down pretty easy.
Its not an upset when as Dodgers fan, we consistently see our team Choke EVERY year.

It’s sad that 2021 was their best year, and they only finished 2nd best behind the Giants by One Game, and they beat the Giants in the Division Series too. Coming from a Giants fan, both those teams were in their prime that year.

@@arthurgettler211 When I was younger, we used to share the division with the Braves, back when they had Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux. They’d win the division time after time, go to the playoffs, usually make it to the World Series, and, except for the one year, they’d lose. As a Dodger fan, I kept thinking, “Look, if you’re just going to go and lose, could you get out of the damned way? Either that or go and actually win the thing.”
That’s been my mentality ever since. “You beat us? Okay. Now go and do something with it. Win it all.”
Dodgers losing in the playoffs to lesser regular season teams stopped being an "upset" a long time ago. 😊
I mean it's an upset for Texas beating Baltimore but I agree it's no longer an upset for the Dodgers it's the regular playoff norm for LA

I’m an Astros fan (Go Stros!) but I have to say I’m loving Moreno. He has been abused by a bat upside the head and a ball to the hand and is slugging out homers. Look out Braves, best offense in MLB 2023, demolished all rivals in regular season, killing it until last day of season, had 6 days of resting and I think this may played backwards, and suddenly getting silenced by Phillies Pitching. In Braves defense, Phillies have a great team and have post season experience but there's no excuse to fail to do small baseball things in postseason games like Braves has done it so far in 3 games and currently against the wall 1-2. Last but not least, being the dominant force in NL east for the last 6 years, they have won last 6 consecutive NL East titles and yet only won one (1) world series, also have lost in NLDS 3 out of 5.
Really wasn't an upset if you follow baseball...not just shallow pundits. Dodgers have zero starting pitching rotation. Kershaw did his usual post-season, they fired an innocent man, and everyone else hurt. Dbacks bullpen has changed their game since the trade deadline, picking up Sewald and Thompson, and the bats have come alive. Corbin Carrol looks to be a generational talent. If your'e surprised by this outcome, you don't watch enough baseball.
Yea it was. dodgers were -210 for the series. It was an upset.
Arizona had the worst pitching of any postseason team and second worst hitting after Milwaukee. They did have the best base running and fielding. Maybe not as big of an upset as the Vegas odds indicate. But still an upset.
@alwillk start of the season, Dbacks were in first place NL west up until all-star break. Bats got cold, but if you think the potential wasn't there...then you like most, ignore AZ sports. Pitching, changed overnight with the trade deadline pick ups. Moved the whole bullpen responsibilities around and performed an about-face in performance.

I get where you are coming from but it's such a huge upset cuz the Dbacks and dodgers history shows that the Dbacks don't do this ever to the dodgers and the dodgers beat the dbacks in the regular season match ups 8-5. It truly was an upset I watched the dbacks all year they been my team since they arrived to the league in 98.

Agreed. A major suprise yes. 😮However this is not the “shock the world” upset as say the 1969 Mets, the 1988 Dodgers(their last full season title) or even the 2006 Cardinals. With this, it’s time to expand the division round IMO to best 4 of 7 games. And maybe consider cutting the wild card back to 1 game sudden death.

Diamond backs did very well. The Dodgers couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat. The pitching definitely needs urias, Buehler , gonsolin , and May. I believe if they were in it would have been a different story

Isn’t an excuse for the dodgers core hitters being unable to hit at all. And 2 of the Dbacks starters, Kelly and Pfaadt and were owned by the dodgers with their era’s being in the high 5s during the regular season. Especially Kelly with his awful record at dodger stadium.
