Every team treats their games against the Chiefs as their Super Bowl, especially on prime time. That being said the Chiefs offense definitely needs to pick it up considering how well the defense is playing (which they haven’t had in a long time.) Mahomes needs to look for Rice more, and Ross needs more snaps & looks because he is special & Andy Reid for some reason hasn’t realized this yet. I have no doubt that with a few adjustments the Chiefs will be in the super bowl again either against the Eagles or 49ers, both would make great rematches

I've never seen an NFL team play a football game where they seemed so certain of the outcome, that the game itself looked as though it was being played as a formality.
They haven't won for almost 9 years, it pretty much is a formality. Remember it says on every ticket that it is NOT a game with odds, it's just entertainment.

9:08 It was spectacular because the defender was draped all over him with perfect coverage. Sutton could have easily bobbled the ball because he only had 1 hand on it. Then somehow he managed to keep his feet inbounds. One of the best catches I've ever seen.

Coach Spagnuolo deserves a lot of credit for what he has done with the Chiefs defense. They went from being in a shootout every game to now they can shut teams down
The Lions are the only consistent good team they've played yet. They have the Chargers, Dolphins, and Eagles coming up. Those will be better litmus tests for how good they are.

Chris Jones has definitely been the workhorse for this KC defense. His ability to get to the quarterback and keep Russell Wilson in the pocket has been astounding to see

Agreed. Mahomes has good vision of where to but the ball, but Chiefs were sloppy in this game. Need to tighten up a little, and have little better offense defending the ball. Other than that, it's as usual for the Chiefs, a W for their season.

The best teams they’ve faced are the lions(they lost) and the jaguars (who got hammered by the Texans a week later) Performances like this and against the jets won’t cut it in the playoffs when they have to face actually good teams

Russ doesn't need fixing. Getting Sean Payton as the new head coach for the Broncos is proving that! What is needed are some talented and smart wide receivers , offensive linemen and defensive players for the Broncos! The franshise has not shown it is interested in investing the money to rebuild and produce a winning team. Patchwork building with mediocre players may keep fans coming to games but it will not win games and the playoffs.
The Broncos have to get offensive players of the caliber of Kelce, Moore, Marquez Valde, James, Ross, Watson and Toney plus comparable linemen and defensive players to beat the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders to be playoff contenders and win in the AFC West.

Yeah but this isn’t 2012 anymore. Russ is 34 and turns 35 in November. A big part of his game was going off script and scrambling around until he found an open receiver. He can’t outrun the defensive lineman like he used to. He’s still fast but he can’t go from 0-60 in a heartbeat like he could when he was younger and defensive lineman can get him easier

The point spread was -10.5 KC. How Las Vegas always comes so close to getting the spread correct is stunning. It's like they have the best psychic assisting them. Yes, I know they use computers to figure out the line, but it's unreal how good they are. I made a bet at -10 and that 52 yard field goal was the difference between winning & losing.

The surprising thing, this Chiefs defense is not only the best defense of mahomes era. This defense is looking like the 90’s chiefs defense when they had Derick Thomas. I can’t remember when the defense was this legitimate. Sometimes the defense looks better than the offense and that’s a lot to say when you have the best QB and TE, on offense.

Despite KC only scoring 19 this game was never in doubt even when the Broncos came to within 8.
The fact that the Chiefs have only allowed 88 points in 5 games should scare the rest of the AFC. The offense should come around at some point and if the defense continues to improve then that could mean another AFC Championship.

Definitely the best defense the Chiefs have had since Mahomes became starting QB. They play lock down and were close to lights out this game. Now if the offense could get going more they would be a complete team. Butker, Townsend and the rest of special teams were phenomenal tonight. One of Butkers best games for his career!

As a Chiefs fan, I am very disappointed with the offense. The defense and special teams outside of the muffed punt by Washington was rather outstanding. Patrick Mahomes has had very weird interceptions. Travis Kelce have been the only reliable target for the Chiefs. Everyone else can't get seperation and/or when they do, they start dropping passes. Also, the playcalling has been very weird. Why would you go for a fake field goal on 4th and 2 when you have arguably the best quarterback in the league. Reguardless we are 5-1, but I am not satisfied with the offense. They will eventually figure it out, but we are in desperate need of a wide reciever 1.

What a ridiculously close match, that first half was pretty much a stalemate. If not for Butker, the match would’ve been even closer.
Credit to Denver’s defense and how much they frustrated Mahomes, but it’s that same defense that let them down. The KC receivers and tight end were constantly wide open and they couldn’t stop it.

From these highlights, the Broncos defense didn't do a terrible job. Who would have thought, when they heard the Chiefs scored 5 times in a game, that only one of those scores was a touchdown? Not many people, I would imagine.
As for the offense, yes, they were offensive. Unfortunately for Denver, it doesn't seem to be a one-off.
Harrison Butker: hero of the night.
Broncos don't seem to know their identity on offense. Broncos should be a run-heavy team with Wilson being used to throw off the defense with occasional forays. Just because you spend tens of millions on an aging QB doesn't mean you can have back-to-back plays with four wide-receivers. It's a complete misconception of who they should be on offense.

John Schneider is a genius. I'm beginning to think that not only did the Broncos get played, so did Russell Wilson. Schneider off-loaded an albatross and drafted starters with those Broncos picks. Wilson thought he was gonna 'get his' because Stafford and Brady did. Wilson is not a HOFer. He may have been on that route at one time but the wheels have come off and he's in a ditch.
Russ saved that franchise. Pete and LoB didn't even make the playoffs with 7-9 before Russ got there. The disrespect to RW is insane.

His bread and butter was the RPO and he stopped that in favor of trying to be a pocket passer, something he's not. He made out like Seattle was holding him back and other teams believed it too, evidently. Are we supposed to be congenial about it?
He is a HoFer. His time with the Seahawks got him that. Plenty of great qbs have fallen apart on new teams in their old age.
@@thezackast2752 There are practically no QBs in recent history that have fallen apart to this degree, however. The only example that I can think of that even comes close to this situation is Donovan McNabb spending the last two years of his career in Washington and Minnesota. However, McNabb was never good enough to be a realistic candidate for the Hall of Fame to begin with. Russell Wilson prior to 2021 was a virtual lock for the Hall of Fame, and now it looks like he’s going to have to retire after this season in order to save whatever chance he still has of getting in. That is literally unprecedented in all of NFL history.
