    Thank you this is very helpful.
    One of the most annoying things ever as from the listeners point of view is absence of compression .?whenever I listen a conference recording or n my car and I have to adjust volume or have fear my eardrums will hurt or my car stereo will damage speakers when there is a burst of laughter or a loud expression in the recording .
    It’s one thing to capture the event but not many folks mention that the quality is crucial

      I actually came up with my own answer. You can edit recording in post production.

    I’ve never run into the problem with a hum like that. I didn’t know a DI box could fix that. I normally have a mic on every camera, a mic and audio recorder on the edge of the stage and a recorder capturing from the house mixer. Redundancy is your friend.

  • @thomaswhite3733
    @thomaswhite3733 Před 4 lety +1

    To avoid ground hums when getting audio feeds you should plug your video gear into the same power circuit as the house audio system.

      I actually did learn that since making this video! Good tip!

    You're right, ground loops happens, is better to have a DI box or line transformer at hand.
    I had an Alesis Multimix 4 some time ago, then changed to Yamaha MG06 but recently I changed to Yamaha AG06 that have lots of features and includes a DSP that serves as a compresor really well.

    Hello! Just wanted to ask if instead of a camera that would connect to a soundboard, can we use the digital audio recorder instead? And also connect a Behringer DI20 Ultra-DI 2 Channel DI Box/Splitter with that?

    Hi there , If we used external audio mixer with "ultrastudio HD mini "(or any other blackmagic product which use to broadcast online) , Does it occurs any syncing (audio and video) problems ? did you face such a problem ?
    Thank you :D

    Thanks for the excellent content! Currently I'm trying to get into filming conferences and seminars and I'm having trouble getting my first one. Do you have any tips for me getting my first one? Who do I talk to, where do I go. That sort of thing.

      Great question, and something that was hard for me too - took a few years to build up a list of clients. My best advice would be to start locally with meetups (for free) and take it from there! It's always good to have examples of your work to show future clients!

    What do yo exactly mean with: USB device?and how much do you think cost a thunderbolt motherboard ?/ or the USB device?!

  • @jpproductions2970
    @jpproductions2970 Před 7 lety

    Does media express work on windows? And does the mini display port send the power too?(as same as thunderbolt)?!?!

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety

      +Journey2life - English hold it! I just reread your previous comment. You will not be able to use the device in your setup. Mini display port and Thunderbolt are completely different (they share the same connection but do not work the same). You will need a motherboard with Thunderbolt or use a USB device.

  • @jpproductions2970
    @jpproductions2970 Před 7 lety

    The Blackmagic mini Recorder has Thunderbolt: So it should be possible, should work to use it for a pc (not apple mac...) with this cable: Mini Display Port (-to Hdmi) right?so i could use the Blackmagic mini recorder

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety +1

      +Journey2life - English Correct - Mini Display Port to HDMI is your best bet. I can't imagine any issues with that. You may need to try a few resolutions if things don't happen to work right away (but I can't see any issues).

    this might be a dumb question… would i be able to plug a zoom h4n recorder into the audio board/mixer then sync the audio later on?

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před rokem

      You could connect the output of the board into the zoom and record it just fine!

  • @politicallyincorrect2232

    wich microphon did you use for your video?

      Hey! I used the Rode Filmmakers Kit for this video.

    Hi John,I've a question: I have got the ATEM television studio HD and I want to record my program but sometimes I want to stream it Live, too. So what can I do if I don't want to spent much money?! (And sorry I'm from Germany: So I usually speak german)

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety +1

      +Journey2life - English id recommend getting a Blackmagic Mini recorder (if you have a Mac) and using it to stream (using OBS) you can also record too!
      There are other hardware options but they can get pretty expensive!

    • @jpproductions2970
      @jpproductions2970 Před 7 lety

      Ok the problem is that my switcher has SDI pgm! And I have Windows 10

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety +1

      +Journey2life - English in that case, take a look at the AV.io SDI which should do the job!

    If you don't have the money to buy all these devices, in case of emergency this no other way that tu put your mic near the PA (Speakers). Do not forget that some idiots speakersdo not colaborate.

  • @jpproductions2970
    @jpproductions2970 Před 7 lety

    Ok it's a little bit expensive 500-600$?!?! With the XSOURCE Capture and the converter I come up to ~200$/€. What do you say to an sdi-HDMI converter for 35 $?(amazon) is it already good ?

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety

      +Journey2life - English yeah they can get expensive. The cheap sdi converters are fairly good and should do the job for you!

    • @jpproductions2970
      @jpproductions2970 Před 7 lety +1

      Thank you very much for your help 😊!
      I like your videos! I/people can learn new things, tricks, options...-> I like the HDMI extender, before your video I want to know what it is and I had questions about when does I need a Hdmi receiver?... Nice go on!!!

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety

  • @jpproductions2970
    @jpproductions2970 Před 7 lety

    Or then I have to buy a sdi-HDMI converter and an XSOURCE HDMI capture to USB

    • @heretorecord
      @heretorecord  Před 7 lety

      That would be the best idea! or check out the AV.io SDI - USB SDI Capture Card (www.epiphan.com/products/avio-sdi/). This way you will not need the SDI to HDMI converter
