    Love tritium fobs. Love the look of this one. Love the price.
    But I'd never, EVER use an encapsulated vial of radioactive gas as a glass breaker 😝

    • @ratgamer4778
      @ratgamer4778 Před 3 lety +7

      The isotope is very weak and you’d have to break the vial inside of your lungs for it to have any effect on you, the glass stops almost all of the decay and whatever isn’t caught by that is stopped by the air outside of it. Plus, the case is strong enough that you’d have a hard time breaking it.

      @ Michael Warren. You are 100% correct. The only time tritium in this use poses a health risk is if the vial breaks. Also, this thing is so small I don't see you breaking a car window with it. Just a dumb design choice. A reviewer on their website says he broke the tube in his just dropping his keys 3 feet to the floor.

  • @motorgearhead
    @motorgearhead Před 3 lety +2

    Very cool but seems to be lacking on practical application. If having problems finding my keys, low light levels don’t usually have anything to do with it. Now if this actually produced enough light to allow you to faintly see items at say 2ft, I’d feel it has some practical application. Pitch black fumbling with keys in the rain to unlock a deadbolt that you know is there but just can’t hit easily with a key... that’s $40 investment that’s functionally practical.
    Right now, this gets put on my future gift list for my spoiled nephew. I’m past “cool” for the sake of “cool”.

    • @rizzgy7486
      @rizzgy7486 Před 2 lety

      Tritium is very practical when you need something to glow that doesnt normally get exposed to enough light to charge up, such as a zipper pull on the inside of a bag.

    • @N3wbMa5t3r
      @N3wbMa5t3r Před rokem +1

      It does produce enough light to easily see items at 2 feet or even 20 feet. I can easily see my keys hanging on the key hook across the living room 20 feet away.

    • @motorgearhead
      @motorgearhead Před rokem

      @@N3wbMa5t3r - thanks for feedback. Will it illuminate an object that is 5 feet away from you? Will it provide enough light to see the keyhole in pitch black? If yes, than there is some level of practical value besides being a glow in the dark zipper pull or key “finder”.

    $40 bucks a piece is pretty steep. Maybe tritium is very expense? I'd buy 3 of these if the price was lower. Just out of curiosity I would like to see a demonstration of glass breaking with something this small. Good quick video, nice job.

    • @UrbanSurvivor
      @UrbanSurvivor  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah The tritium definitely is the reason why it's so expensive. This is another option you might consider that's a little cheaper but it doesn't have a glass breaker tip - amzn.to/2YkjELT

    • @JAMaxeRestoration
      @JAMaxeRestoration Před 3 lety

      @@UrbanSurvivor Thanks for the follow up. I just checked the link you provided. That is less expensive but I want the tritium that never needs to be charged and lasts for years. The Rhino looks like a well made product. I'm not sure how big an issue this would be but the glass breaker tip would prevent the fob from being able to be set upright on a flat surface allowing the fob to function as a mini lantern. Keep up the good work, I'm now Subscribed.
