- The video shows the timelapse of world air pollution (share of all deaths attributed to air pollution) from 1990 to 2020. Air pollution is the contamination of air due to the presence of substances in the atmosphere that are harmful to the health of humans and other living beings, or cause damage to the climate or to materials.

Of course, the developed countries have the less pollution, because they put the most polluted factories to developing countries, including China and Vietnam. Please remember many electronic devices import to developed countries are made from China.
lol not everything is political mr. i hate the west
That's not the only reason. Developed countries have stricter regulations for industrial smoke filtration. Particles that cause people to die from respitory illness in China and India are legally required to be filtered in most of the West.

hmz im skeptical about data demonstrated in the video. while mortality due household air pollution might decreased drastically, generally more people live in cities and more people continiously breath polluted air and it has long term health effects. according to some data, life expectancy loss from air pollution is greater than loss from smoking or alcohol/drug use. some data suggest that 1 out of 5 deaths are directly or indirectly caused by air pollution. the two leading causes of death besides natural is cardiovascular diseases and cancers. In both cases air pollution can cause or worsen condition.
@@frjoethesecond can you give some exemples?
Title and video presentation are very different, title should be percentage of deaths caused by air pollution. Back to air pollution, developed countries contribute a large share of air pollution than developing countries.
What how? I am from a developing country and my country's air is very polluted. Like I am not even kidding, you will literally see heavy muds and dusts flying in the air. But when I go to a developed country, the air is very clean.
Emissions yes, but this is literal air pollution, like when you see smog in the air abd it is very common in developing countries, not undeveloped countries.
USA: Highest level of CO2 emissions
Also USA: Fairly low level of air pollution
What a huge mindfuck
Bro chill this is air pollution Wawamu made another video depicting CO2 emissions
Proud to be Indian, one of the best polluted countries 🇮🇳 🇮🇳
Sorry to say but title and video is completely different
Title : Countries with air pollution
Video : Death caused by air pollution
More population = more death
For fair comparison make video on Emmisons per capita
Unfair to small countries cuz every human wants to be comfortable
This is percent of deaths attributed to air pollution. So i don’t see your point. Yes for emissions they should do that but this is different.
This is already per capita because it shows the % of deaths in each country caused by air pollution.
This is per capita, are you illiterate?
@@totaljoker
Per capita Emmisons
America 15 tons Emmisons
China 7 tons Emmisons
India 1 tons Emmisons
Should have actually based it on average score on air quality index or air pollution index instead
Yes, but the problem is air pollution varies greatly depending on the location (take Beijing and tibet in 2010)
@@Grason20 true. But since this is a comparison between countries then the measurements are still relevant. If we were to go into further detail, we can compare them based on city limits which does exist but cannot be used to compare national averages. If Mean is what is used to calculate the average then yes it will be grossly misrepresented but if Mode or Median is used then it would be more likely to be an accurate representation.
This might be one of a few challenges, where Greenland actually is green all the time.
WawamuStats Bro can we also have the source for the music please? Thanks!
The main page of the video is very informative
Amazing
You know how did Chinese people reduce the air pollution level? We plant trees at literally all possible places. In the most worst dess
erts, on the Tibet plateau, and even proactively reduced the area of farmlands for growing more trees. But it is worth doing so, the air condition is evidently turning better
I have multiple friends doing export in China, they are promoting better plastic products that cause less pollution in place ofmanufacture. However due to the higher price for those better products, they often failed to promoting them to western customers.
The US got one last break in 2020 before the timeline ending...
1990 may be a little bit late
When you are using made in China, India or any developing countries, you are actually contributing pollutions in their share...
Still it's Rich vs Poor but people are educated and technology is on rise.
Countries must not allow corruption.
Reality
Average Emmisons per capita
America : 15.15 tons
China : 7.30 tons
India : 1.10 tons
I like India, but if your gonna show other stats do most polluted air rankings for cities.
America 90/118
China 22/118
India 5/118
With billions on small space u still fucked from air pollution even if per nose u do less. U guys go the wrong way xD

@@Matthew-qc1xz When nuclear wastewater spreads to the whole world with ocean currents, I hope you can like this taste.
China's pollution actually decreased.
Great video. Clearly there is a divide between western countries and everyone else as they go through industrialization. Yet I live in London and you can see a grey particulate haze in the distance from the parks in the summer!
You mean cause they outsource production?
@@TheZachary86 Yeah I am aware of this as China manufactures all and sundry through coal consumption! I've questioned this wisdom several times already!
@@jamiearnott9669
There’s a reason why developing countries choose coal over gas. Energy independence.
Most oil flows from Middle East. And US and the west has a chokehold since Saudi + US became best friends. And lucky for the west because if China/india switched to gas, the prices would have shot up ten fold and they would be economically vulnerable to countries with western influence. No sovereign nations want to be part of that.
Furthermore the hesitancy to share nuclear technologies and its disparagement slowed down nuclear adoption.
Off course western nations like to point fingers at developing world. China is already at a transition point. India is going to increase coal production for another 1-2 decades.
@@TheZachary86 I agree with you that western countries can't point fingers. Yet China and India are effectively dependent on inputs of coal from Australia and can't point fingers either!
Undeveloped countries have worse pollution than Industrialized countries even though Industrialized countries are blamed climate change?🤔
People like u fall in category of fools
Men led climate change didn't start 10-20 yrs ago but it's been there for last 100 years atleast. So, you can make a list of those countries that got industrialised in that duration. Not to mention that industries uses not so efficient equipments and methods in the beginning hence they do more pollution. I hope that answers your question why present day industrialised countries are blamed more.
Very interesting 👍

Papua New Guinea??????What???!!!!?
China was the longest air pollution
Per capita is the truth
This is per capita
next birth rate 2200
So my main takeaway from this is that developing countries aren’t taking climate change seriously enough at all
Read and understand the data properly first
The data shown is death caused by air pollution
More population = more death
This is not fair comparison
For comparison see pollution per capita then comment
This has nothing to do with climate change. There is no relation between air particulates that are harmful to humans and greenhouse gases
Yeah it’s kinda a problem we have. Developing countries don’t want to stay poor and say that industrializing like the west did is the only way. And that the west should change their lifestyle and etc to accommodate for climate change. The only way we’ll truly beat climate change is if we work together though and have everyone do their best.
Developed countries have already gone through industrialization. Developing country are still in the phase that the west was 60 years ago. It would be unfair to expect poor countries to take the same measures that developed countries are taking. Instead developed countries should provide funds to poor countries so that they can afford to reduce air pollution.
Dude it's air polution deaths, not production of c02.
Meanwhile western Europe is spending trillions into 'cleaner' solutions... It would be better if we invested that money abroad, in Africa & Asia. There we would have a way larger impact.

China is decreasing fast but india is increasing, india is really number 1 this time! Congrats
Basically how China was exactly a decade ago, or are you conveniently forgetting that, Wumao troll?
It’s not fast, it’s still pretty high, and on par with most of the developing world
If u compare with per-capita India rank is very low here (approx 1.8 ton per person)

You will not even find India at top 30.
First
Note: over the past 20 years, all of China's neighbors and neighboring countries, which are called the world's factories, have been adversely affected by fine dust, yellow dust and various smog from China. And because of that, few countries have good average air quality. India too, of course
bs. Indian air quality is merely a result of lacking toilet.
You mean the air crossed over the Himalayas? And made India even more polluted than China? lol
Some countries sure but indias air quality doesn’t have anything to do with China. Himalayan mountains act as a barrier. Besides most industrial activities don’t even take place near the borders of India.
This goes the same with ASEAN countries. They are more affected by haze from burning forests/stubble.
China is the world factory. of course it is going to be more pulluted being a factory for the whole world. India doesnt make anything and still become the most pulluted country in the world. What is going on?
@@Allan-zu4is And Eastern coast area of China ?
This makes no sense. Most of Nepal and Afghanistan have pretty good AQI. Whatever little pollution Afghanistan has, it's coming from Iran, which is shown as cleaner.
If you were to modify the definition of "share of all deaths attributed to air pollution" to include deaths by bullets and drone strikes... then maybe Afghanistan would be bad. Along with Syria, Yemen, Ukraine, etc.
No not really, Nepal especially it’s cities aren’t known for good air quality
It's come from China.
I’ve heard that Chinese students pointed out that air in the USA is much sweeter and fresher than that in China. I think it true.
