      This link I post here below, is my favorite animation of the map of Asia. After about the first 4.5 minutes, the map starts changing rapidly. I have to reduce the play-speed to 50%. My favorite is from 4:40 up, because most interesting to me is the expansion of Russia, how not only they were able to expand to the east coast, but how that latitude was always so isolated and uninhabitable in the winter during the dark ages, that nobody wanted the land. Then once Russia began spreading into the unincorporated land, there was nothing to stop them and the expansion all the way to the east coast in a short period in history. Russia, or the 'ancestor' of Russia, Kievan Rus(sia), emerges in Europe in golden dark yellow, unlabeled at first. In the middle of the 20th century, when Russia becomes the Soviet Union, I was shocked by the assumption that another Country, perhaps Germany or Poland temporary invaded ALL OF Russia, and that Russia was temporarily seized to exist. I was disappointed by the assumption that the Russians/Soviets were able to recover all of their land back. I hate Russia. I hate Communism. I hate Empires. I believe in freedom, peace and Democracy. I believe in the first amendment. Well, all it was was- the Soviet/Red Army was created and was sent all across Russia to establish the Soviet Union. Which of course only lasted until the end of 1991.

      You 幽 means "dark", "dim", "hidden" in Chinese. The king You of the Zhou Dynasty is actually the last king of the Western Zhou Dynasty (Zhou can be divided into western Zhou and eastern Zhou). In ancient China, the king will light the beacon towers if the barbarians attack the capital of China. If the generals in other cities nearby saw the smoke of the beacon towers, their will come and help. Once in order to please You's wife, You light up the towers without barbarians' invasion. All generals across the country came to the capital and they got angry after they found that they are fooled by king You. One day, when the real barbarians came to invade the capital, none of the generals came to aim king You. And king You were killed by barbarians. The Western Zhou Empire collasped into different kingdoms ruled by the generals of Western Zhou.

    • @Ridddigg
      @Ridddigg Před 5 lety +2

      @RAJU PEDDADA Eastern civilization (such as China) and southern civilization (Islamic world) are completely different civilizations that have nothing in common (as well as Western civilization). To unite the South and the East and call them Asia is STUPID.
      Barbaric??? In colonial times, Western civilization committed a great deal of barbarism against enslaved peoples. Or European Nazism (especially in Germany) - thousands of villages and cities were destroyed in the Soviet Union.
      No need to talk about barbarism. You (Europeans) have become kind recently. After as Russians beat the crap out all shit with Europe and destroyed colonial world order (Western hegemony).

    • @Ridddigg
      @Ridddigg Před 5 lety +1

      @RAJU PEDDADA You have a biased attitude towards southern civilization (Islamic world). I think this is due to the Islamization of Europe.
      But 600 years ago, it was different. The West was barbaric, and the South more humane. Religious fanatics, crusaders were like modern-day ISIS terrorists. They slaughtered all the people in Jerusalem.
      Things change.
      West, South and East - dominate the planet at different times. For a thousand years had dominated the South, now West, in the future, the East (then everything will be repeated again).

All in all, this 17-minute video ended up taking me roughly 3 hours to watch.
