    "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲

Can’t remember the year in the early 70s I think. I ran the first 750 that came to the west coast, San Diego California. It had the foot steering which was new to me but ran like a dream. Counter rotating track made it slick to run. Nor real good for slopes for first time using it but got use to it. Scott Machinery got the first one the second one went to Japan to copy( that sucked). Fun times.

I operated the 850L and they are an awesome machine. I like it as much as the D6T. It would be nice if the one I have had cross slope control. Deere made big steps forward from the K series

I love John Deere dozers, I've had a lot of g and h models 450,550,650, and loved them all and would buy and run them all again but that first 700h I run was a total different animal all around better then run a couple 700j dozer and it was great dozer to all run in mountains logging. I never got to run a k series but now the L series out I would like to look at closer.

The cab lift was nice on the ks. 850s still have it so I guess I’ll stick to them.

I wish deere would increase the ground speed to match cat and I don't like how the decel pedal now just slows the ground speed and not the engine speed. Maybe there is a setting to change it but I've had limited time in one

I am wondering if the DEF compartment has heat? I am in an extreme cold climate area and the DEF would freeze between the tank and the dosing nozzle if not heated.
    Cheers, stay safe

Typically the systems are designed to freeze, but have room for expansion. And then, once fired, the machine has a DEF heating element and can redirect exhaust in some cases, to help heat things up as well. Now, I am not sure if that is what Deere does, but I know that is what other OEMs do.

Hey Carl. We reached out to Deere and here's what their engineers said:
"John Deere equipment that utilizes DEF systems are designed to work in various climates. When the engine is turned off, the DEF lines are purged by pumping all the fluid back into the DEF tank. The DEF tank has added capacity to allow the fluid to freeze and expand as needed. After start-up, engine coolant is circulated through coils in the DEF tank to thaw the fluid. The DEF lines are also heated with an electric heating wrap to prevent freezing in the lines during operation."
Thanks for watching and let us know if you have any other questions!

@@EquipmentWorld Diesel Pickups and Semi's, up here, have heaters 12V/110V in their DEF tanks. Plug them in for the night everything is good. If not, and you do not have E-APU/APU, darned that sucks. Could use stronger language, but I don't want to be tossed.
      Cheers all
