Cody, whenever I think about not having achieved what I want to by a certain age, I think about my cousin Cathy. She worked for the State Department in Russia for the first part of her career, then in her 50s decided to go to medical school. She graduated last year and now is in her residency in New Hampshire. She’s particularly interested in neurology and may pursue some type of fellowship.
I have a degree in gender & sexuality studies, I ran a dog collar business for a few years, now I’m a veterinary assistant and intern with an animal behaviorist. I want to be a guide dog trainer. I’m the type of person to want like 10 different careers, so Cathy reminds me it’s never too late to switch it up.
