The brothers names are different. Not bahubali. "BAHUBALI" IS THE NAME OF THE HERO AND THE NICE ONE AMONG THEM. "BHALLALDEV" IS THE NAME OF THE EVIL BROTHER. THE SUBTITLES WERE ABIT MISLEADING.

Hence both are commonly called Baahubali.
Baahubali means "one with strong arms"
Both characters are played by PRABHAS, thus people of the kingdom recognise the shivudu as "Baahubali" in early part of the movie.

The King/Dad who died (killed by traitor Katappa) is called “Amrendra BaahuBali”, and the son in current times is called “Mahendra BaahuBali”.
The jealous brother who doesn’t like the original king is named “BhallalaDeva”. He is the son of Queen Mother who was ruling the Kingdom of Maheshmati on behalf of the princes, waiting for them to grow up.
Whereas, Amrendra Baahubali is the son of the founding emperor of the kingdom who previously died young, and even the queen had died while delivering him. So the crippled elder brother’s wife raised both of them as her own with a clear heart.
Also, in the subs, the kingdom is named wrongly. It is actually called “Maheshmati”.
Even the name of the slave army general is not “Kappa” as said in the subtitles. His name is KATAPPA.

for the first 4 episodes of your reaction, you were watching the present time. the protagonist there; the one who climbed up the waterfall and won Avantika's heart, saved Devasena(his actual mother) and killed Bhallaladeva's son; is the prince of the kingdom of Mahizhmathi - Mahendra Baahubali.
episodes 5 and 6 were the story of the king Amarendra Baahubali an his brother Bhallaladeva. that happened 25v years ago in the story's timeline.
hope that cleared up some of the confusion.
oh and also, Kattappa is loyal to the throne because he has a moral obligation to honor his family's oath to serve the kingdom no matter who sits on the throne.
